I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
Chrome is a security nightmare compared to Firefox. A large part of that has to do with the fact that Chrome is specifically designed to bypass the standard Windows requirement to install software in the C:\Program Files directory by installing in the C:\Users\[user] directory.
That bypass means that any malicious software that wants to modify Chrome can more easily do so because the software was installed under the user directory as the user, not as Administrator in the C:\Program Files.
On the other hand, yes, Chrome is optimized for Google applications and is their preferred choice of browser.

Having used Firefox since it was called "Firebird", version 0.7, more than ten years ago, I'm probably a bit biased. But yeah Firefox.
