Duty| Information Central ||Feedback - Duty - 01-08-2015

Faction Overview:

"Duty defines what we do, what we stand for and what we’re willing to do for those we are sworn to protect."

Generally, the goals of Duty| do not differ from the goals of any other Order groups: The Nomads are a threat and need to be destroyed.

Yet, their approach is not focused on massive invasions and punitive expeditions, but on surgical strikes at previously and carefully selected targets to achieve maximum effect at the lowest possible risk.

However, the strict regulation of the nomad remains has proved to be both ineffective and a surefire way to turn former allies into enemies. Therefore, knowing that even nomad remains are highly dangerous, Duty| is extending his hands to researchers from allies and thrusted organisations, to combine their efforts in advancing human technology safely.

They are also willing to open negotiations with former allies to re-establish good relationships, with focus on combatting common enemies and aiming on the the main purpose of the Order.

History:

After Orillion went missing, the Order had seized to be this singular cohesive unit. While some groups were powerful and great in numbers and full of inspiring people, others kept to themselves trying to remain hidden, to be free to execute their operations without attracting any attention.

One of those latter was a small group named Duty. Just like the name itself indicates, this group is composed of the most dedicated Order pilots, ready to, at any given moment, give up their lives in service of humanity.

Without the distraction of a spotlight they were free to engage in a different style of warfare: Operational warfare. Deep strikes into enemy territory, causing havoc in the supply lines of the enemy and retreating before they had time to react.

With heavy focus on speed and stealth, forming a science Division came natural for the leadership of Duty. Mostly tasked with pursuit of directly applicable military technologies, such as cloaks, resources have recently diverted to other longer-term projects.

As Toledo was destroyed in 818, Duty began to recruit openly among the secondary fleet and independent battlegroups, to be able to mount open patrols and defend the new homesite in Omicron Mu.

True to their original planing, deep strikes into K’hara territory continue to this day. At the present, however, enterprising scientist of Duty and research partners are on board these vessels to analyze the nature and mechanics of the telepathic abilities of the nomads and, are working on both blocking them of reaching the human minds and maybe even use that knowledge to develop a weapon against the Nomads themselves.

Hello Community

We would like to go into a few things, that have been mentioned: Yes, Duty has been inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R-Franchise. As in its core Duty is the Order: A paramilitary organization fighting against “aliens” and any humans opposing their fight.

However, aside from the name and the general idea (and the shoulder-patch) nothing else has been and will be imported from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R-games. Since the game takes place in a diystopian past (as the game plays in 2012) there is nothing to import anyway.

We plan on playing the Order in it's most pure form: Primary focus on the nomad thread, as this is the sole mission of Order and only as secondary priority to fight fellow humans. Plus, as not only the Order has great minds, invite other scientist for joint-research projects to better understand the nomads and how to fight them. Which would, hopefully, also ease some tensions between the Order and other factions.

Other than that we didn't hear any criticism or feedback worthy of addressing. We would however love to hear more of those, as constructive criticism would make for a better faction.
