VHF Setup - Srkad - 01-16-2015

Been quite a while since I have played, and even longer since I have had a VHF...What is a good setup for one, with a good mix of power and refire rate? Codenames included. (Freelancer ID)

That's not a lot of information to go by.

What ship and ID are we talking about?
What refires do you prefer?

Most people nowadays seem to go with Adv. Flashpoints, and for good reason. They're the most efficient gun available, usable on every (non-Gallic) ship and ID, and don't sacrifice too much power either.

It's a Sutinga with a Freelancer ID. Fast refire rates are good, but I didn't want to sacrifice too much power.

Usually you just go with 2xadv.debilitators
4xadv.flashpoint
sheield,thruster , screamer/nuke
Mosquito cd

Archangels.
best refire 10/10 best gun

Otherwise, just use the typical Purple Godeses, Debs and the other stuff.

2xImp Deb mark I
4xAdv.Flashpoints
Nuclear Mine
Mosquito CD

Or instead of Flashpoints, you can go for the house 5.88s (Garands, Rippers (?), Stealthblades (?), Dragoons) which are quite efficient as well. Or else, Purple Goddess has a great projectile which is pretty easy to aim with. If you are into 2.00s, codenames are currently better (Excaliburs, Heimdalls and Claymores).

I'd go with Purple Goddesses then, they're super effective against the most common shield type and a little stronger than Flashpoints.

Look a lot cooler, too.

Awesome guys, thank you so much!

RE: VHF Setup - Corile - 01-16-2015

Purple Goddesses are a bit stronger than flashpoints, true, but they're also a bit harder to aim, because of the inconsistency in the projectile speeds with debs.
