Internal Message to the Liberty Navy First Fleet High Command - Euca - 01-16-2015 ****INCOMING TRANSMISSION****
ENCRYPTION: Secure PRIORITY: Moderate. COMM ID: Cadet Emma Lynch TARGET ID: Liberty Navy First Fleet High Command. SUBJECT: Alien Encounter. Cadet Emma Lynch reportin'.
On Monday, after escortin' those AI out of Liberty, I had an encounter with an alien. It came into my ship and appeared behind me. It asked me general questions whose answers are open to the public, mainly where one could apply for the Liberty Navy. The creature managed to put me into a dream like state and don't recall what I told him and what I didn't. After having my ship disabled by a criminal, the LSF agent that took me back to Manhattan said I had encountered an alien and might be infected. Luckily for me, the scans at the LSF Office on Manhattan proved negative and I was set free. However, the Agent advised that I inform you of the situation so it can go down records and such. Awaiting your response. Cadet Emma Lynch. First Fleet, Liberty Navy ****TRANSMISSION TERMINATED****

COMM ID: ADM HARTMAN, Jane TARGET ID: ENS LYNCH, Emma SUBJECT: Re: Alien Encounter. ENCRYPTION: High PRIORITY: Low Ensign Lynch,
The Admiralty appreciates your notification. Encounters of the sort you experienced, while not common, are far from unheard of. Nomads, the species you encountered, usually keep to the Edge Worlds unless they've got reason to move, though sightings in central space are more frequent than any of us would like. They've displayed limited telepathic ability in the past. The smaller organisms that make it to Liberty haven't demonstrated capabilities beyond what your experience suggests, and remain vulnerable to fighter-grade weaponry. Without detailed scans it's difficult to provide you with more information than that. Standing orders on contact with nomad snubcraft remain: • Notify CoC of craft position. If alone, await support before engagement to minimize disorientation.
• Avoid physical contact with nomad entities under any circumstances. • Intercept and destroy nomad craft. Mark remains for processing by ESRD. Nomad vessels larger than snubcraft should not be engaged without numerically superior capital or bomber wing support, and any contact with nomads by civilian vessels or stations must be prevented. Nomad ships outclass ours by a significant margin. It's worth bearing that in mind if you have the misfortune to run up against one a second time, don't be afraid to use the resources we have in-system. I trust the above clarifies the situation. I've advised your squadron leader of the incident, and I expect he'll have an appointment with a corpsman scheduled for you this afternoon to confirm the LSF's scans. Regards, Jane Hartman
