Player sanctioned: [ALG]-Delta.D - Jansen - 01-21-2015

[ALG]-Delta.D has been sanctioned for:

Quote:
1.3 Every player must have one ID equipped on their ship. Player should follow the restrictions and allowances listed in their ID and their roleplay and conduct must match the actions of their characters. In cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules.

Consequences:

There is no reason for you to go to Cassini to shoot Rogues together with the LN. You might find that your ship has been lost in the depths of the Badlands.

If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbours, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of Admin Right #CTE 750AE

RE: Player sanctioned: [ALG]-Delta.D - Karst - 01-21-2015

The reason was an ongoing engagement.
The ALG ship in question had come to assist Liberty lawfuls that were under attack by Rogues in Colorado, which our ID permits us to do.
So now you cannot pursue hostiles into guard systems or something?

Deleting a ship entirely that wasn't breaking any rules - stretching at best - is not the sort of response I would expect, considering how often much more serious infractions end up with "guns deleted" or the like.

Edit: note, speaking as faction leader here. I wasn't flying the ship in question.

RE: Player sanctioned: [ALG]-Delta.D - Tunicle - 01-21-2015

Is this the ID you are referring to? If yes I presume you are referring to the line highlighted?

"ALG Waste Disposal is a Rheinland company that specialises in the disposal and reprocessing of hazardous industrial waste. It has a partnership with the IMG and Gateway, and is developing relations with Kruger.

Pilot carrying this lawful ID is an employee of ALG Waste Disposal, who:

* - Can attack any ship in self-defense, to protect an allied or neutral lawful ship, or in defense of a base of the same affiliation, both within and outside of their Zone of Influence.
* - Can attack ships belonging to houses or organisations considered hostile by Rheinland within their Zone of Influence, with the exception of Liberty lawfuls.
* - Cannot ally with any unlawfuls.
* - Cannot participate in unlawful actions except as described above.

* Zone of Influence: Rheinland

Now from the ALG Faction thread, the factions own words I presume?

"unfriendly (now, these are to be ignored as much as possible)
......
Liberty Navy, Liberty Police Inc. & Liberty Security Force
Liberty Rogues"

Suggests that your approach to your "allies" Liberty Lawfuls and the Rogues you attacked should be identical. So why differentiate?

Does not seem to fit neatly into the ID line you are claiming supports joining LN to attack Rogues.

Still possibly a little murky and interpretable for some?

Then we have
"23:50:08 [ALG]-Delta.D->Li01: Ravis: We've got enemies in Colorado" from the chat logs, this is the only tangible start to this skirmish from the evidence we can see.

There is no direct message to this ship or to New York 20 minutes prior to that message that would suggest that you were aiding anyone in self-defense. Thus this gives us problems with "Can attack any ship in self-defense"

On balance were you fully complying with ID? Jumping from New York into Colorado to get involved with factions you rank as equal in your documents, not enemies, without a call for assistance?
