Hello!
My character's name is Ishaq Al Fayyad and
will be spending lots of time in Bretonia, as
that is where my character's background will
most likely lead him.

Because I don't usually play anything online,
my schooling just took a whole new step in the
insane direction, I would like any basic tips
(besides reading the rules, and yes I will read
them again) on how to get started in Discovery.
Like I said, I wanted to get started on my way to
Bretonia. But once I'm there, in order to get on
the good side of a faction, what's the best way
of approaching that? Any suggestions would be
cool beans.
As for myself, I am going into my second year
of graphic design on the West Coast. Anyone
looking into the major can always ask me any
questions they may have about it. I would be
more than happy to answer them.

I'd like to know as well...
I'd also like to know why it's named the lynx, when it's flown by a group of people from an old-earth area which has no lynxes. As far as I know, the lynx - or bobcat - is restricted to northern europe/eurasia, south america, and north america (including canada).

Don't worry about his roleplay, I'm sure he has a valid reason for RPing the way he is...and his ship name doesn't really matter, as long as his RP fits into Discovery.

The reasoning behind the name Lynx was based on the animal's temperament,
rather than its geographic location.
"The Lynx is an elusive, ghost-like animal
that is rarely seen. For this reason it is often
called "the keeper of secrets of the forest."
Part of its magic stems from the mystery that
a creature so shy is yet so powerful. The
Lynx teaches us that even the meekest can
succeed in life. This power and ability to
remain unseen attracted ancient warriors to
adopt the Lynx and, thus, they believed,
its nature."
The main focus here is the fact that the
Basha'Ir I have created for my RP are a
nearly extinct, barely sustainable entity. I felt
that the Lynx, also being nearly extinct,
possessing the same qualities of timidity, yet
also unparalleled in cunning and stealth, would
suit the Basha'Ir's flagship.
The reason I named my ship the Lynx MK II,
was because I forgot the fact that ships in
Freelancer are not hailed by their christened
names (USS Enterprise, for example), but by
their players' names. The Lynx MK II was in
honour of the defeated Lynx as mentioned
in my bio.

Understandable, I use the name Lynx and Nightlynx as my other characters in a lot of different games. Been my alias for several years now =P

If you want faction action, Bretonia is really picking up right now. Mollies reforming... The BAF is getting popular. Take your pick really.
