Subj: Research Mission, Omicron Alpha

Please be advised that Star Enterprises wishes to conduct an extended research mission in Omicron Alpha. As you may recall from our previous correspondence, our research ship, Sleipnir is based on a destroyer hull.

Star wishes to ensure that there will not be problems with our presence in the system. Sleipnir will be conducting its operations near the system perimeter to gather data on the black hole. The ship will not be entering Omicron-85, only pointing sensors in the direction of the system. The operations will need to be conducted in a broad arc to interpolate the data, which means that Sleipnir will probably need at least 2 weeks to complete the activity.

We wish to ensure that there are no problems with this, and ask that, if you have concerns, or wish to place restrictions on the operation, you let us know. Sleipnir has not yet entered Maltese space for this operation, and we await your response with anticipation.

With regard,

Chuck Alestone

Our previous verdict stands. For reference, we have attached it below:

(02-01-2015, 07:10 AM)Crimson Cross Wrote: --You have given us no reason to trust your people sufficiently to allow entrance into Maltese Core space. Passage through on conventional drives falls to us to decide, and the Council has agreed on a very simple "No" verdict.

Put simply; if you approach, you'll be turned away. If you attempt to enter anyway, you will be fired upon. If you jump, you will be destroyed--

Continuing to push on this matter does not reflect favorably for you.

Signed,

My apologies for "pushing". Your original communication was in response to a request for access to Omicron-85, and I thought that you were referring to it when you referred to Core space.

Has Star Enterprises done something that would cause you to reject us specifically? So far as I am aware, the Zoners and the Maltese people are on good terms. If we have done something, outside of this request, that offends you, we would like to make amends. It is not our intention to flaunt your authority.

Respectfully,
