Char level and money question - MrPenguin - 02-05-2015

Hi there,

I know a Freelancer character's level is directly proportional to the amount of credits the character has. But I have a question, is there a general rule/formula/estimate to determine roughly how much credits corresponds to a given level?

I'm asking this because after flying around for about and hr and a half on a new character, I was fined 3mil by an unlawful player char for passage through an area. I had recently transferred 2.5 mil from another char onto this one but was still about 6k under 3 mil. I was flying a CSV with a hold full of boron but he/she claims I have 20-25 mil credits since my char level is 40. In the end I was blown up because I couldn't pay the fine (meh, no biggie).

This encounter made me really curious whether determining someone's approx credit wealth based on char level is reliable or perhaps due to the recent credit transfer, my character level jumped higher than it should have.

Thanks,

Character level is mostly dependent upon the amount of credits he/she has on the ship and the ship.

Put simply, It's dependent on the whole worth of the character as in: Credits, Ship, Cargo, ammo, etc.

Afaik, there's no formula to estimate the credits in a char depending on it's level. But normally everything above rank 65 is a cap ship or a big transport. Snubs usually got between 40-55.
