BHG ID Attacking Corporations/Military/Police - Vulkhard Muller - 02-06-2015

Is this a thing that could happen?

Like say DSE bounties Kruger, can BHG go and hunt down and collect on that bounty?

Or

Could say IND bounty (hypothetical) Kishiro Technologies and BHG collect on that?

Or

Interspace bounty Rheinland Military and a BHG Id collect that?

Assuming the BHG's was red to those factions could it be done?

Technically they can already attack Gauls (who are lawful, as an exclusion from no-lawful-attack rule). However, there arises a problem, in which we must question if Bounty Hunters Guild is one big body, or is rather huge and just barely affilated and heavily decentralized federation of Hunters, like BHG "Shikoku" are not really same as BHG "Manchester", even being huge rivals. Not to mention subfactions who operate in Rheinland, Liberty or even in Omegas.

However, going back to your example, I think this is not the very bright idea, because GMG on Kruger (or IMG, or any other) is technically unlawful bounty, to impact major corporation. On the contrary, I find BHG ID fulfilling bounties from Junkers on Hogosha very... questionable - Hogosha is deemed lawful by Kusari, so Hog would send message to the government about assault onto (technically) corporate vessel.

Just following Toris' example here of bounty hunting after Hogosha, since they are quasi-lawful so it would be doubtable.

BHG did it in the past. Then they got kicked out of Kusari for 2 years. (Though to be fair they hunted Hogosha INSIDE Kusari)

It was more about BHG ID players, fixed my post. Smile

I'm pretty sure that attacks on lawful corps generally fall under the "Crime" section of Law. Besides if a bounty isn't placed by a government it's not really a bounty, it's an assassination, even if it is placed by a lawful entity.

House corporations would never tolerate BHG's lawful presence or status in House space if they started attacking corporate vessels. Period.

Lawful bounty hunting should be done against criminals and quasi-lawfuls at best. Bounty hunting AGAINST corporations should be done by Freelancers, Mercs, Quasi-lawfuls, etc.

As someone mentioned..the only case where this would make sense would be against Gallia, since a good portion of Sirius hates them, unless there has been diplomacy to the contrary.

No. BHG are lawful and require their reputation to remain positive with corporations. GMG uses Freelancers and Mercs to do hired work against corporations which is one of the reasons why there was always an NPC Freelancer population in Sigmas since Vanilla, not a BHG one.

Leave the individual contracts as well as shady bounty hunting posts to freelance mercenaries only.
Leave house-organization sponsored bounties to BHG only.
/thread
EDIT: As for the BHG attacking thing, pretty much that. Let them hunt criminals only. Quasi-lawful and unlawful contracts should be done by untraceable and most importantly, disposable individuals - mercenaries.

Looks like I can inform KNF and LN about certain BHG ID-ed guys hunting Hohosha. (Pun intended.)

Technically, yes.

Hogosha have ties to the corrupt government, so it would make sense then.
