Subj: Acquisition of Laboratory and Mooring Space

To Whom it may Concern:

Star Enterprises is interested in acquiring lab space at Ames Research Station. Our desire is to move certain gravitation and power plant work into closer proximity with Pueblo Station, since they supply a majority of the equipment.

We have determined that it would be problematic to seek facilities within the Colorado system since that would place us inside House space without Zoner facilities.

We would also like to procure a permanent capital ship class mooring slip at Ames Research Station.

We look forward to your response.

Chuck Alestone

Good day Mr Alestone,

My name is Jonathan Roberts, department head of shipbuilding and development. First of all, I would like to thank you for your transmission and interest in acquiring a research lab on our station, we do have a range of lab sizes to rent at this point. However, before we begin with the negotiations and offers, we would like to understand more about your project and research you are planning to bring to Ames. This is due to health and safety reasons as I am sure you would understand; we don't want another Texas incident do we ?

As for your request to procure a capital ship class mooring point, while we have a adequate capability to resupply passing warships, it is very unlikely you will be given access to a mooring slip at this point. This is due to the Liberty law specifically prohibiting capitals from entering their system, and allowing a foreign capital ship to dock would be a direct violation of the liberty law. I would be more than happy to discuss if you have a signed agreement with the Liberty Government granting you access to the Kepler system, otherwise I don't see how this could work.

Subj: Research Project

Mr Roberts,

Thank you for your response. I am certain that you can understand that we are reluctant to describe our projects to the public at large.

Star Enterprises is working on development of a new generation of power plants. Our current theories revolve around improving the fusion process by using a combination of Gravity Field Stabilizers and some techniques that I am not at liberty to discuss over the net. If you should like, we can provide a précis document via courier when we next send ships up to Pueblo.

My desire regarding lab space is that we would like to utilize one of the old dark matter labs if they are still available, since they are probably the most heavily shielded spaces on the station. If you have other recommendations, please feel free to suggest them.

Thank you for advising me about Liberty's legal circumstances. I have contacted both them and the Kusari Navy directly to see what can be done. The ship in question, [Star]-Sleipnir, is built on a Zoner Destroyer hull, but is outfitted as a research vessel. Her armament is comprised entirely of Solaris turrets, essentially making her a very large anti-snub gunboat in terms of combat capability.

I thank you for your time, and look forward to hearing from you.

With Regard,

Given the change in management of your station, I am resubmitting my request for space aboard the station. For convenience, I have included the previous chain of correspondence.

I no longer require a mooring point for a capital ship, although I would like a berth for a Transport.

Please forward me your decision, and any terms involved at this account.

I appreciate your time in this matter.
