The Cordoba Familia & Information
The Cordoba Familia, a name being said more and more as time passes. Each man and woman idolized the idea of a rich and wealthy future, with more than enough power to make enemies tremble in fear. But for all this to happen or even take shape, the family had to come up with a proper name that would be written into history as a name of power and respect. Debate was opened only to the elders of the family..."The wise and the strong" as they used to call them. After days of long debate and arguments-the decision was taken to name it "Cordoba". The name was chosen for a few simple reasons, and you would hear a different story from each of the elders. But all of their stories added to one thing: What the name stood for is what really mattered. It was chosen so that no one would ever forget where the Cordoba family came from. The familia would stay for generations as one, following their ancestors in their culture as their children would one day. The name was all but avery small step of many towards their goals.
After the unification and the declaration of the Cordoba familia, the Empire requested their assistance. The familia filled smaller gaps behind the scenes, funding relief services on on Crete. This came at a cost as the family suffered amajor financial crisis in 818 A.S. It took them few years to recover and change within the family also brought a new leader to thepowerseat of the family. The head of the family is a ruthless, short tempered man named Croton Cordoba whom is also the head of the Cordoba family. The Cordoba family is a proud family that descends for generations. The modern day Cordoba are part of the few high power families of Crete. For the larger part of the recent centuries the family was more reserved than the other families. The family started gaining the urge to be more than just a simple name among many - they wanted to help their fellow countrymen evolve the Corsairs to be a true power to be reckoned with. The family then started small by simply assisting with import and export of Food, Water, Artifacts, Black Market Munitions. With these small acts they started to gain more favour among fellow Corsairs, which in turn lead to expansion due to their hard work and dedication.
The Cordoba family then came up with the idea to expand their business beyond just the family. The idea came to create a cartel, but this was more than a ordinary cartel. They operated mostly from Crete in the beginning due to finance and personnel shortages. As the cartel started making more profit and gaining new members they had to move expand their base of operations. The cartel then started running from any allied ,friendly and even neutral base they could get to, boosting their influence and profits even more. For years the Cordoba cartel stayed in the shadows working behind the scenes slowly building their foothold. Their plans had to be re-adjusted every now and then to keep up with the ever changing environment they were working in . Those that opposed the cartel was dealt with swiftly and without mercy.
The close network within the cartel keeps its members from spilling their guts if they get caught by rivals and enemies. Being found as a traitor to the family was a fearsome thing and no one within the cartel ever tempted their fate. Traitors were tortured to death or executed to the public as clear signal to what happens to those defy the family. This brought in a unwritten law within the cartel, simple few words with powerful meaning “Never surrender”. The cartel will fight to the death and not give an inch in a fight. With many rivals and little allies the Cordoba relies on its own small war fleet that stretches to every point of their operations. This small fleet expands day by day taking the fight more and more to the enemies.
They have few simple rules within the cartel that stretches each member to their extremes at certain times. Their rivals will feel pressure from them sooner or later that could lead to full out wars or subtle takeovers. Once the Cordoba cartel started gaining momentum in smuggling to a small degree, their operations were forced to come more out of the shadows and more to the public eye. This lead to more dangers and more enemies. The cartel is in it for their new family and for their new Brethren of the Corsairs due to the Cordoba cartel being “new” to the outsiders it remains to be seen how they would be handled and how diplomacy would break between them and other groups and factions.

They contacted the Castille familia, a large family on Crete known for its warriors and their achievements, to combine their strengths and bring prosperity to the Corsair Empire. The Apostatas was formed.
