Lion's Cage Meeting - Noraim - 02-16-2015

Amunet -- C.O. Quarters

After browsing through a few operational report while pacing through the room, Liara took a moment to gather her thoughts. She took a seat by her desk, placing away her datapad before accessing her console.

She forwarded a transmission to agents Bates, a shuttle pilot deployed not long ago to Freeport 11.

"Come in Bates. Is everything in place ?"

Freeport 11 - Docking Area

The man was inside the cockpit performing a rudimentary system check as the console bleeped with the incoming transmission.
He reached to answer as he dropped everything else he was currently occupied with.

"Aye aye, Admiral. All set on this side. Bird's in perfect shape and ready to go, currently stationed in Docking Bay D-23. All that's left is for your package to arrive and we'll be on our way."

Liara nods "Very well then. I'll send word. Contact me once she's aboard and en-route here."

"Aye ma'am, I'll be here." the man salutes before the transmission ends.

A lone eagle begins it's approach to the freeport. Using the docking codes which were reserved beforehand for the dock which was specified in the last transmission. Slowly docking, a single female emerges from the vessel.

Long dirty blonde hair reaching almost down to her rear, yet still looks like it was well maintained. Wearing what appeared to be cargo pants, as well as a loose black shirt hiding most of her figure. Stretching her arms out, she glances around the hangar, spotting the other vessel. Getting a slightly cheeky grin, she claps her hands together. "Ooh I love being transported to unspecified locations! Security, security, security.." Letting out a quiet breath. "I guess understandable"

Approaching one of the others which were obviously waiting for her in the hangar. "Why heellooo there. I'd presume you'll be my ride to meet the bosslady then?" Asking in a more or less chipper tone.

The man by the shuttle only just hopped out of his cockpit before being approached by the newly arrived. He smiled politely offering to shake hands while at the same time directing her towards the shuttle itself.

"Good to see you've arrived safe 'n sound ma'am. Unless you've other business to finish here first, please step in and we'll be on our way. The Admiral's expecting you."

The interior of the shuttle's cargo bay was entirely refurbished, outfitted with comfy seats and a less intimidating appeal, specifically for passenger transport.

She nods, slightly surprised by how pleasant the pilot was. Perhaps not all the rumors were true, huh? Something she'd have to watch out for on her entire escapade today.

Making herself comfortable in the passengers area, grabbing a tablet from a small bag she carried with her. Deciding to get some 'work' done. It could be heard that she was mumbling to herself now and then, appearing to be a bad habit. By work, what that meant, was when you looked over her shoulder she was really playing pong of all things.

Glancing up, looking out the window. Their destination near. Putting the tablet away, she cracks her knuckles and stretches her arms out, looking out of the window. Well. Nervous? Slightly.

The shuttle took off shortly after Bates instructed the dockworkers to take care of the vacant Eagle while its owner is away, and made its way to the far side of the system.

Circling slightly around planet Tuvalu, the shuttle headed inside the Tokelay Ice Field. Several clicks after visibility became almost null, the shuttle seemed to slow down.

Directly infront of them, the Amunet, Order tactical recon cruiser and Grey's personal flag ship lay in wait.

"CV - Amunet, this is Agent Bates on approach vector, requesting docking clearance. I have a guest for the Admiral onboard."

"Acknowledged, Agent. Docking clearance granted. Proceed to secondary bay."

The shuttle entered the bay and lowered steadily. The cargobay doors slid open slowly as soon as the docking clamps were engaged.

Two marines arrived immediately after to act as escort, saluting the guest.
"Ma'am, if you'll please follow us."

They began strolling through the hallways and up a few levels. Coming into an empty room ridden with screening arrays, the marines took a detour while instructing the girl to pace towards the middle of the room and be still while the scanners were active, as they moved to await her on the other side.

The lights dimmed as a pair of drones approached her position and projected a laser fence which passed her several times, X-ray scans, DNA sampling along with the whole bunch occured in only a few moments before the lights were back on, the other door opened as she was now cleared to proceed.

As the group exited the screening chamber, they entered directly onto the bridge and CIC. Agents of various ages walked back and forth or lay still, all of them performing designated tasks as the vessel itself was also acting as a long range transmission hub.

Liara was in the middle of all this, discussing operational procedures with a few agents before noticing the guest. She passed final orders before dismissing them and heading towards one of the conferrence rooms on the other side of the bridge, instructing the group to follow her.

Once in the room, the guards remained outside by the door as Grey took a seat and instructed her to do the same.

"Well, you've had an interesting ride no doubt. Good to finally meet you." she spoke in a rather detatched tone, as a result of not yet dropping her working figure. As such, she hailed for someone to bring some refreshments.

The female watches the surroundings with wonder. Haven't really been on this direct path before. Then again, she hadn't really ventured into this part of space. She wasn't fond with how.. congested it was with people on edge.

At least the large vessel that they docked on was more or less.. well.. Comfortable. Looking at the scanning array slightly interested. She wasn't worried of course, she had nothing to hide. Although it sure did seem to be overkill. Well, when you were in the position of the Order like they are, she supposes that there really can't be any top limit on how careful you can be.

Finally, they came up on the person she presumed to be the boss. Grey. Taking a seat across from her, giving her a slight smile. "So you're who I was finally looking forward to talking to." Reaching a hand across to shake hers. "I'm Jessica Snow. Nice to finally meet you. I've heard a bit about you. On that note, you must be really interested in how Aelita is doing if you've agreed to see me personally. Not that it's a bad thing. I can respect worry like that.. I wouldn't really be enthusiastic if it was any other way around. You seem from at least what I understand, trying very hard to keep her in the agency still.."

Pausing for a moment. "Ahh perhaps not the best idea to get right into it."

Giving her a kind look. "Professionalism I see is a strong trait of yours I can tell from merely how you sit. While it's good in practice, it doesn't let you connect dear."

Listened, rather hesitant to speak for now, after presenting herself aswell. Right as Jessica was done talking, an assistant paced in with a steaming pot of green tea and a pair of cups upon a platter. Resting them on the table infront of the two girls, the agent walked back out, closing the door behind her.

"And that's why, despite agreeing with you on that profesionalism matter, I ordered refreshments." she replied with a kind smile after having relaxed a bit, said state only brought further by the tea's arrival. Liara pours herself a cup and invites her guest to do the same if she wished.

After taking a sip, she layed back in her chair and sighed deeply, a few moments of silence following, during which only the distant yet noticeable hum of the cruiser's engines could be heard, before resuming.

"Then again, someone in my position tends to keep friends and contacts very close, since the nature of my allegiance disallows for much bonding outside of duty antourage." she explained while pausing between words to take another sip from her tea.

"As for the reason why you're here, to answer you, yes, I do try my best to keep Aelita in active duty, as she is a rather dependable individual, ontop of her empathic nature and understanding. Lately however, I've strived to keep her alive more than anything else, so your helping hands is rather welcomed and appreciated, though it may not seem so."

RE: Lion's Cage Meeting - Remnant - 02-17-2015

Jessica nods her head slightly. "Hey, not as cold and recessed as I pictured you as! Uhh.. No offense of course." Looking at the tea, happily taking some for herself as well when offered. Letting her gaze wander around the room for a few moments before turning her attention back to the female in front of her.

Over the time that i've known Aelita, and have found her in the state that she was in.. I've had some time to myself to come to a few conclusions and thoughts as well. Aelita is doing well, and I intend to continue to help her get back to her former strength. Even if I was to be stuck here for some reason or another, thankfully my sisters are lending a hand in making sure she's doing alright as well. Keeping her alive is something that I really wish to do.. I've started to care for her over the experiences i've had talking to her and such. She's a good girl.

However, i'm not really afraid to say that I'm solid on perhaps what you may consider.. an unpopular choice. I don't want her back on active duty. I'm going to stand firm on that one. I didn't force the idea on Aelita, if she truely wanted back, i'd be more than happy to step aside and let her do as she wishes. She didn't exactly say she wanted to go back either however. Sure, i'll give you one and also add in that she didn't say she wanted to stay away as well.

From what I understand though, and what I think is best to her, as a person, i'm a little hesitant in bringing her back once she's better."

RE: Lion's Cage Meeting - Noraim - 02-18-2015

Liara listened intently as Jessica spoke. Taking a sip from her tea after the woman was done, she pondered for a few moments before nodding, seemingly lost in thought, then reverting her gaze back to the guest.

"Given the current nature of things, it may come as a surprise to you when I say I agree with what you've said so far. Ultimately, it is her choice wether she wishes to resume active duty or not, and 'tis neither myself nor you, in a position to disagree. However, she does pose a significant security threath simply by being out of our reach. A risk which you have already been exposed to."

She paused to let it sink in and pick her words as carefully as before, she obviously ment serious business, though did as best she could to not seem too imposing on the guest.

"I will leave my agent in your care for now, and decide upon this later. But I want you to leave here knowing full well that actions will be taken should she leak information of any sort to anyone. In our line of work, information leaks get more people killed on a daily basis than in-house piracy, and I'll be damned if I let that happen under my watch."

She finished her cup of tea, placing it away and remaining silent for a few moments whilst looking away.

"Just as you've put it. Aelita is indeed a good girl. 'tis one of the reasons I won't let anything bad happen to her. Good people like her are increasingly hard to come by." she added, her tone changing to a more relaxed one during her last mention, almost as if mumbled. She was obviously affected by the situation, though aside from her words and sincere tone, little in her appeal gave away any sort of weakness.

"I guess I've failed in my task of taking care of her however..seeing what happened. But if I can't protect her, the very least I can do is make sure she gets justice. I'll get to the bottom of this even if I have to rattle the Overwatch for full support on scouring every recruit." she once again paused, her piercing gaze darting back at Jessica.

"I'll entrust you with her safe keeping and full recovery for the time being. Don't prove my trust was missplaced, Miss Snow. Friends die when I'm wrong, and I hate when that happens."

RE: Lion's Cage Meeting - Remnant - 02-18-2015

Jessica listens patiently as Grey speaks. Nodding a few times, but frowning a few other times. While she could tell that Grey was thinking the best of the Order, there were still a few things she didn't like very much about her little speech.

"Grey dear? I understand that security leaks is something that you're required to be worried about. But if Aelita is as good of an agent like you say she is, I don't believe you have anything to worry about. I'm sure she knows of the risks, and quite frankly, I could care less what you Order people are up to. That's none of my concern. Aelita isn't a security risk. I'm not torturing her or anything, and I bet she has more than enough training needed to beat down anyone who tries to get at her. Something which I don't think is very likely to happen in the future anyways.

I thank you for deciding to leave her under my care for now, but i'm really a little confused on what there is to decide on as a whole. You've said it yourself. The decision on what Aelita does is up to her. On a little lighter note.. I'm sure she'd really appreciate the efforts you are putting into everything."

Pausing a moment. Thinking about Greys last sentence.

"You're not her only friend dear. You're not the only person looking out for her. Even if I don't have your trust, it doesn't mean very much to me. I'm sure as hell going to make sure she gets better and back on her feet no matter what. If she doesn't wish to head back to the Order, i'm going to do my best that she gets what she wants."

Stopping again, letting out a quiet breath. She didn't want to be blunt like this. Although she had to say it sometime. She liked Grey so far, she didn't want to make a bad impression.

"Sorry about that.. I tend to get a little carried away. There isn't much I care for, your friend Aelita there sorta.. dropped in on that list unexpectedly. It's genuine and all. I'm sure you feel strongly about her too. I don't mean to take her away from you. I've met a few 'higher up' people before. While they don't have anything to do with the Order, i've seen enough to understand that sometimes 'duty' takes priority over 'feelings'. A concept which I am completely against. I have high hopes for you right back Miss. Thank you for putting up with me so far."
