Just curious if that would cause problems. Would you be docked at nearest base, previous base you docked at, or start in space? Same with being docked on a capital ship with modules. Would your game crash?

You will end up 100k away in Space from all objects if its that bad, or just respawn where the PoB was destroyed, in space. You re still docked but you can undock so ye, but the PoB aint around anymore obviously.

It would mean a very long trip from 60-100k below the center of the system.

I believe it would be just "undock" in space where base once was. On the other hand, I don't really know.
What Spazzy said. When you are docked in base and in group, other players see you being "in sun" on their system map.
