VFK| Valkyrie Freikorps - Valkyrie Freikorps - 05-12-2015 Valkyrie Freikorps "Mercenaries never die, they just go to hell to regroup"
WHO WE ARE....
The Valkyrie Freikorps is a tight-knit society of Rheinland mercenaries, fueled by not only the lust for money, but the love for the Vaterland as well. Originally formed by a dozen of members dismissed from the Rheinwehr's elite squadron, the Valkyries, these soldiers seek to deliver justice to the parts of Rheinland where the hands of law cannot reach.
WHERE WE COME FROM....
The origins of the Valkyries can be traced back to the beginning of the Rheinland - Liberty war, where the need for an elite force recon squadron was voiced by several leading figures of the Rheinwehr, seeing the emerging need for employing coordinated, efficient hit and run tactics. Under the administration of Admirals Gunther Rall and Alec Voelkel, a selected few soldiers with extraordinary combat performance were hand picked by the Oberkommando and equipped with the best technology available in Rheinland, giving birth to Squadron One - The Valkyries, Rheinland's elite fighter commando.
The Valkyrie Squadron can be credited with a 92.1% success rate in their missions, having brought down both leading figures of the Liberty Navy and capital ships of the most massive sizes. Their success can chiefly be attributed to the close, brotherly bond the soldiers formed between each other. However, the Valkyries were too small in number to influence the outcome of the war and as the administration of the Rheinwehr changed, most new officers no longer saw a need for Squadron One, preferring instead the employment of larger, regular Rheinwehr forces with more cost-efficient, standard-issue equipment instead of issuing high-tech equipment to be employed in highly dangerous missions. Another issue earning the ire of the Oberkommando was the increased brutality by which Valkyries operated: Taking no prisoners, performing field executions and a generally inhumane attitude earned the squadron infamy from the press and thus, the public. Following an incident, where a smaller sortie of Valkyrie members were charged with the unjustified destruction of a Liberty freighter in Hudson, which got excessively covered by the press, the Oberkommando saw it fit to dismiss the Valkyries in 818. The Valkyries involved in the incident got discharged from the Rheinwehr altogether, which inspired most other members to leave service as well as a mean of protest. The soldiers abandoning the Military did not abandon each other though, they kept their patriotic agenda to protect the Vaterland, but they continued their work as mercenaries, exploiting their ties with the Rheinwehr, the Bundespolizei and Rheinland's corporations to find work. Since their formulation in 819, the group became known as Valkyrie Freikorps. Their contribution to provide protection inside the lawless parts of the Sigmas and the Omegas was welcome, where Rheinland's assets could still be found, yet out of reach for the Military or the Police, they became the protectors of Rheinland's citizens. Their brutality and radical methods did not cease either: The Valkyries kept ruthlessly attacking even unarmed targets, killing prisoners and leaving no witnesses to see their misconduct. Their infamy started attracting former outlaws, radical rightists, and disillusioned Military members, who, aside earning money, kept their loyalty to Rheinland and the Vaterland's people. The peace with Liberty left many of the ex-soldiers disappointed, most of them felt that the politicians leading Rheinland betrayed the thousands of comrades who died fighting for the Vaterland and the resurgent influx of the Liberty companies once again made Rheinland's people exploitable. As thus, the mercenaries quickly started looking into ways to target Liberty's companies and all agents of foreign entities they deemed malignant to Rheinland's well-being. WHAT WE DO....
Today, the Valkyries are an expanding group of Rheinland loyalist mercenaries, who do not hesitate to pull the trigger, when it comes to meeting the enemies of the Vaterland.
Contracted by Rheinland Lawfuls, the Valkyrie Freikorps hunts down Corsairs, Red Hessians, Coalitionists, Rheinland Unlawfuls and basically anyone who has a bounty on his head issued by Rheinland's government and corporations. Their ruthlessness guarantees that no one survives to reconsider their opposition to Rheinland and his people. The Valkyrie Freikorps' objectives are as follows: - Preservation of security inside Rheinland and her border worlds (Sigmas, Omegas, Hudson and Bering) - Posing as a deterrent to those wanting to undermine Rheinland's interests - Assisting corporate and national interests aimed at expanding Rheinland's borders - Getting rich by being patriotic WHERE WE WORK....
Due to the influx of unlawful activity and the anarchy that ensued inside Rheinland after the war, the Valkyries extended their operations to the systems inside Rheinland, while retaining their focus to the Border Worlds. Our Zone of Influence is: - Rheinland - Omegas - Hudson / Bering - Liberty - Rheinland border worlds - Sigmas - Omicrons We are based on: - Freeport 1 - Freeport 2 - Kreuzberg Depot - Newport Station - Heisenberg Research Station WHOM WE LIKE (or don't).... Allied: As of now, the Valkyries have no direct allies. None Friendly: As a group of loyal patriots, the Valkyrie Freikorps maintains good ties with (and is chiefly employed by) Rheinland lawfuls. Rheinland Military Rheinland Federal Police Daumann Kruger Republican Shipping Neutral: Zoners, Junkers and Freelancers are generally not bothered by the Valkyries; they consider the said factions’ isolationist policies of no threat to Rheinland. Due to the ALG's aggressive assistance to the IMG and the company's attack on the mercenaries, the Valkyries eye the garbage haulers with suspicion. Zoners Junkers Freelancers ALG Waste Disposal Unfriendly: Seeing how most of the Valkyries are politically devoted to some form of Rheinland nationalism, a slightly xenophobic attitude of the members is often shown towards Bretonia and Kusari alike, who are while not openly attacked by the Valkyries, are generally mistrusted. Though people from Liberty are taunted, frowned upon and are beaten up by the mercs in bar fights, they are not outright killed either - as long as they don't work for a corporation or a Liberty law enforcement group. Bretonians Kusarians Libertonians Unioners Hostile: The enemies of Rheinland are also the enemies of the Valkyries. They seek to hunt down and kill every single member of the said factions, wherever they can also earn money by doing so. RE: VFK| Valkyrie Freikorps - Valkyrie Freikorps - 03-21-2016 The war ended. Outlaws swarmed Rheinland and Libertonians corporations made their way back into the Vaterland. The Valkyries found themselves shorthanded. As thus, recruitment is now open. In addition, faction history and diplomacy have been updated. RE: VFK| Valkyrie Freikorps - Major. - 06-26-2018 Since the Valkyrie Freikorps is back with some older member, we would like to bump this page. The recruitment is also now open. |
