Freeports - a question - carlabrams - 10-10-2008 Now - I know that under role-play conventions, the Freeports are a 'no-fire' zone. (Obviously this isn't part of the actual game rules, just a way for RP'ing.) My question is - does this also apply to those Freeports that are NOT Zoner bases? I happened to notice that Freeport 4 in Magellan is not a Zoner base. So does the 'no-fire' zone also apply to that one as well? Again - I know that this is an RP mechanic only, and not a sanctionable event if you happen to get attacked next to a Freeport. I just want to be able to scream and shout in a role-play chat that I'm being attacked. Freeports - a question - Patriot - 10-10-2008 I beleive the no fire zone apply to ALL Freeport. 10k around the Freeport, its a No fire zone Freeports - a question - Jinx - 10-10-2008 its mostly a zoner thing. - if zoners have passed a freeport to ... lets say, the IMG.. its up to the IMG to determine the station laws. - either way, station laws change from station to station. they are not global... cause the zoners have to fit their laws into each system separately. so, don t expect freeport 2 to have the same laws like freeport 11 or freeport 10 to have the same laws as freeport 9. all those freeports are in very different parts of space, have to deal with different factions and have different purposes. freeport 2 is a borderstation between rheinland and liberty, freeport 11 hosts the BHG warfleet for the omicrons, freeport 10 suffers from uncertainties with the outcasts and is in the warzone of IMG and outcasts, and freeport 9 inhabits a whole zoner system wtihout any other faction claiming the space. so its really very situational. - but IMG run freeports are up to the IMG... not zoners. if IMG wants a no fire radius around them, you better do it, if they don t care ... no need to execute this law. Freeports - a question - beander2 - 10-10-2008 Freeport 4 does observe a no-fire/no-pirate zone around it. We (IMG) haven't officially reviewed its scope, but it is at least a 5K radius, enforceable now. Same for the BS Hood in Dublin. Freeports - a question - Klaw117 - 10-11-2008 How big is the cease-fire radius? 5k or 10k? Freeports - a question - n00bl3t - 10-11-2008 ' Wrote:How big is the cease-fire radius? 5k or 10k? I would say 10. However, with the recent discussion and all that I too would appreciate some sort of clarification. Freeports - a question - Klaw117 - 10-11-2008 I've been telling everyone it's 5k, but then I learned today that some are saying it's 10k, so now I'm confused. It certainly used to be 10k, but I think they reduced it to 5k because it was causing friction in systems where the Freeport is only just more than 10k away from something important that another faction might want to use force over. Jumphole, another base, popular powertrading route etc. Freeports - a question - Jinx - 10-11-2008 usually 5k - 10k is a bit too much - as it would cover vast areas of a system. however - that one is also down to each freeport individually. - some freeports can maintain a 10k radius, some - like fp9 can even declare the whole system ( theta ) to be a cease fire zone - like AW did. ... some, like fp10 in 37 have trouble even maintaining a 5k radius, cause tau-37 is very small. Freeports - a question - Klaw117 - 10-11-2008 so...if what you said is true, then that would mean theta and tau 37 have a cease fire rule that applies to the WHOLE SYSTEM while all the other Zoner bases (including Shasta, Sparta, Ames Research, etc.) have a 5k cease fire radius? |
