Hairdressers/barbers rant thread - Strichev - 05-13-2015
No, not hairdressers, hair-cutters. Not even that. Incompetent individuals of questionable motives - if not intelligence. Make no mistake I do not consider myself to be a genius. However... this hairdresser I went to yesterday is outright... something. How hard can it be to listen to what the person has to say?
"Now, what haircut do you want?"
"Don't make it too short, for you see, if the sides are too short and the top too long it makes my face seem too long. Just get it a bit into form, I've been thinking about switching to a slightly longer haircut."
That's what I said.
What she heard is an entirely different matter. Probably something like;
"U want me to make u haircut? (ugly bastard, I'll give you a haircut you deserve)"
"Don't! (pause) Make it too short!!! Yeah!! Blah blah blah"
"Say no more! (ugly you are, ugly you shall stay)"
How hard can it be? What IQ do you need to understand that if I (don't want to be banned for profanity) say don't make it too short I don't want it to be short? I mean, are they engineers? Do I need to state the desired length in cm? Inches? Metres? Meters? Micrometers? Km? Miles? As if they could convert units.
Now I have almost no hair. One can see the scalp underneath. A turkey could be my reflection in the mirror now. I swear I won't get another haircut for 6 months. This post shall be a reminder to me.
Anyone got similar experience?
Ps: I do not endorse such teenager-ish outbursts of anger directed at a well respected profession and its creme de la creme practitioners. However, I'm angry. So, forgive me.

That's why I won't be getting a haircut for 6 months now. I wonder how I'll look. Never had hair longer than 5 cm. I suspect I'll look atrocious.

You don't understand what it's like for me with my hair.
I can't go to a white hairdresser because they're too light with my hair and don't understand how to handle it.
I can't go to a black hairdresser because they're too rough with my hair and don't understand how to handle it.
It just ends with 'hair status = destroyed' for me each time.

Nah, my hair is great. It's a like a less dense but a bit more fluffy afro with curls here and there. I sort of have to do self-maintenance though, with some help from my family.

Always short, just short. like I tell them just short, not short from sideways or short from above, just FREAKING SHORT EVERYTHING. This way, they understand. Otherwhise, good luck.
