Eventually someone got rid of the damn dog.

Admiral Andrews' secretary quickly put up a sign saying 'No dogs. Not even guide dogs... we don't need blind pilots, thank you.'

Well admiral I'm quite fond of biscuits. And I have a Bretonian citizenship. I've also lived on Leeds most of my life and there's not many good ninja academies around there.

The Admiral pointed accusingly,

"A-HA! So you answer to 'ninja' now, Ninja-boy? And you thinking having biscuits and a citizenship is enough to get you in?! Even Mollys are Bretonian citizens!"

He then stopped yelling, activating his private communicator, talking into it loudly, obviously about the applicants.

"Hey, aye, no... just watch the damn security video and give me your opinion!"

Hmm... well. I didn't come in here with a sword. Is that enough to prove my innocense?

The recruitment officer on duty was nearly finishing the paperwork for the day when another knock came from the door. "Come in" he said with a sigh.

The man opened the door and started walking to the officer's desk. 'Great. Another wet behind the ears civilian.' the officer mused. "Interested in joining the BAF, civilian?"
"Yes sir!" the man replied.
"Well, here's the form, please fill it in and hand it back to me when completed."
The man took the clipboard and headed to the only other chair in the room to start filling it in.

Name: Jay Clark
Age: 22
Birthplace: Leeds
Ship (if any): Hawk
Combat experience (if any): A little
Describe Briefly your reasons for joining:
My parents were both BMM employees and made a living working on Stokes Mining Station, enough to give me a decent education on Leeds. I was studying engineering, but before I could finish my degree those Kusari dogs invaded. Both my parents were onboard Stokes when they arrived, and were killed in the takeover.
I was horrified that those Kusari would be so brutal, my parents were civilians! I decided to pool my remaining money and buy whatever ship I could (alas, it was a Starflier) and flew myself and some friends to planet Erie, Pennsylvania system, because we'd heard that they were very friendly to refugees there.
After getting there, I realized that my hate for Kusari was still very much alive, and I needed to get it out. I traded a bit, mined a bit, and finally made enough money to buy myself a decent civilian fighter. I came back in my new Hawk, but realized that freelancing against an entire Navy was suicide, and saw that the BAF was my best choice for avenging my parents and pushing the Kusari back out of my home.

Jay stood up and handed the clipboard to the officer. "Here it is, Sir."
"Thanks" the officer replied, taking the information and looking it over. "A Hawk you say, and with a little combat experience? Care to elaborate?"
"Well, it was the best civilian fighter I could find, and I needed to protect myself flying back here from Liberty space." Jay said. "As for the combat experience, I'm not anywhere near military good, but I can handle a those packs of 3 Bloodhounds when the tradelanes get disrupted without needing any bats, much less bots."

"Alright, then this looks in order" the officer said, scribbling some notes on the form. "Have a good day, we'll let you know if you're accepted."

After hearing about the QCP split from the Armed Forces Hieggen rushes back into the room. He sprints to the desk.

"Is the admiral still the recruitment officer of the BAF?!" He asked the secretary.

Amanda entered the recruiting office, pausing briefly in the doorway and taking a look around, feeling a bit nostalgic, it had been a year since she was last here. Amanda was wearing what appeared to be a BAF fighter pilot's jacket with a name-tag that read "Churchill" on it, though the rest of her outfit was entirely civilian.

She let out a soft sigh and walked over to the Recruiter's desk, sitting down in the chair in front of it.

"Former Ensign, Amanda Churchill, I wish to re-enlist myself into the service of The Queen, I was shot down during the Battle of Upper Leeds, but the injuries I received have completely healed by now, and I assure you I'd be alright back in the cockpit..Right, I'll upload my personal information to the datapad, though I'm sure you already have it on record somewhere.."

Amanda began to type her information into the datapad.

A stern faced Commander marched stiffly into the recruitment centre and leant forwards to speak with the secretary.

"Admiral Andrews is...unavailable to continue the recruitment here. I am Commander Richard Cromwell, I have direct orders from Fleet Admiral Nelson to take charge of this office and deal with the backlog of applicants until a replacement can be found."

The secretary looked at the note he presented to her and nodded meekly, before handing him a list of files.

The Commander strode past the bewildered looking people sitting in the waiting room and seated himself in the ex-Admiral's office. He glanced briefly at an empty whiskey bottle on the desk, before sweeping it into a corner of the room in disgust. He opened the files before him and began to read...

...after a few minutes, he called out into the corridor "Hieggen Seo!". The young man entered the room nervously after his previous encounters, and was not entirely reassured by the frowning expression on the new officer's face. After a few seconds, however, the Commander looked up from his notes and spoke.

"Ensign Hieggen Seo, you are hereby assigned to the Derby Great Fleet, I Battlefleet, B Squadron, 2nd Flottilla, A Wing, 3rd Flight. Details of your orders are in this file. Report for duty immediately. Good day."

After handing over a slim folder of instructions, the Commander resumed reading his paperwork and the new Ensign Seo was left, bewildered yet pleased, to make his own way out of the office.

...a few minutes later, the Commander called out into the corridor again, "Amanda Churchill."

Cromwell looked up at the woman as she entered and allowed a brief smile to cross his face. "Miss Churchill, I have forwarded your request to the Admiralty, you are to be reinstated into your old wing at the rank of Lieutenant given your past service. Please report to Salisbury at once for debriefing and re-equipping"

As she left, Cromwell looked down at his files once more before calling out "Dragonmoon?"

The man entered as requested, and the Commander looked up sternly. "I will require your real name please, you have apparantly applied under an alias. Please present ID with your full name on it to confirm your Bretonian citizenship."

The doors slammed behind him as he approached the recruitment desk , a black curly haired man in his mid 40's looked at the receptionist with his brown eyes, Receptionist looked up and asked: "What is your problem sir?" Marcus Seanlie : " Nothing is my problem.. , I.. I am sorry about my entering but my friend was in Bretonia Armed Forces, Kusari patrol killed him in Tau..., I just found out... *shows him his friend's obituary. " Receptionist face turned from angry to compassionate one, Receptionist: " I am sorry. " , Marcus Seanlie: " Me too, he was a good lad, he was about to get transfered to Leeds and now, well now his parent will grief for him because of those $/% 0% a %$2()"# of Kusari. " Receptionist: " May I ask you not to curse in this office please." , Marcus: " Moment of weakness , im sorry... Just please tell me where do I sign? "

Whilst waiting for the man known as "Dragonmoon" to produce his ID papers, Cromwell decided to deal with the next two men waiting in line outside in the corridor.

"Jay Clark!"

As the man entered the Commander was reviewing the completed forms that had been filled in. Not much combat experience but he seemed keen enough. Merely having flown a ship before was considered a bonus qualification amongst today's recruits. Training could deal with that soon enough.

"Mr Clark, you have written here that you want to join the BAF out of hatred for Kusari and a thirst for revenge. That's common enough these days. But the BAF isn't simply a group of vigilantes out to avenge our loved ones, this is a professional military force and we only take those with the makings of proffessional soldiers. I ask you to fill out these additional questions here:" the Commander handed him another form from under the desk.

Bonus Questions Wrote:1. You are serving onboard a battleship and are ordered by your immediate superior officer to execute some captured Kusari prisoners of war. Do you obey? Explain your reasoning.

2. You are aware that your wingman has been secretly supplying BAF weaponary to Bretonian Privateers operating in Kusari. How would you respond to this information?

3. Whilst escorting a BAF Gunboat you come under attack by a Kusari strike force of fighters and bombers. Your Commander orders you to retreat and save yourself, leaving the Gunboat at the mercy of the enemy. Would there be any circumstances in which you would disregard the order?

As Jay Clark considered his answers, Cromwell handed another form to the new man who had just burst in.

"The same questions for you as well sir, and please fill in a bit of background about yourself, personal details and any relevent combat experience or previous occupations."
