Talks on Miura - Ryukyu Guild - 07-04-2015

Planet Miura, Joga Mining Colony

Miura, a frozen planet despite the terraforming. Harsh winds comb the landscape and freeze anything that operates outside the colonized zones. The rocky ground has never been seen as layers of ice cover nearly everything. From orbit, a few lights of civilization twinkle in a select location. Joga Mining Colony, a large city in it's own right, houses all living beings on the planet minus a few mining outposts. The colony is not a beautiful sight, but is clear as to it's purpose. Large factories and processing plants dot the colony with massive spires and towers as developing upwards is the only direction they can go for now due to the weather. The mines clearly take priority in location, as their low lying buildings spread as new veins are found. Spread between these are residential districts; they snake through the different industrial areas almost as a second thought.

The spaceport is busy with transports hauling ore to the orbital refineries, the process of take off and landing seems to be a logistical nightmare. Not far off from the port is a semi-large building with a bland appearance. Signs and notifications mark it as the "Commonwealth Governmental Complex". Without the notifications, it would be hard to locate it as every building seems to blend together.

Inside the complex is less bland as the exterior. Banners and cultural decor decorate the interior, most unlike any seen within the houses. After walking in, a large, high chamber greets visitors with people rushing to and fro. Hallways with large, thick doors line the walls leading elsewhere, mostly offices. A second and third floor is visible as it wraps around the walls like a balcony. Towards the middle of the area seems to be a reception desk with elevators around it. The other floors reach out to the elevators with bridges to allow passage to them. No one stops moving through the chamber, as running the colony seems to take a lot of management.

RE: Talks on Miura - Omicron - 07-06-2015

Miura, Okinawa star system

Visitors arrived at Joga colony quiet and inconspicuous. Armored transport with two undercover Sabre fighter escorts approach towards a launchpad chosen by the Ryuku Guild. Adequate place, Admiral thought to himself when looking over the colony from above. It was closest one to the Guild Masters he was supposed to meet. Flight and landing were uneventful, even the approach to the planet itself has been quiet one. No one troubled them on their way in and surprisingly, for location in the crossroads of busy trade lane network it was clear of anyone potentially asking too many questions. Couple of the Karasu escorts guided them in upon disclosing Order primary fleet IFF codes to Ryuku’s wing that was waiting for them.

As hatch opened, cold immediately hit them. For the GMG, it would be impossible to tell which of the soldiers was the admiral. For all of them wearing formerly Toledo’s winter cloaks, scarves, goggles and hoods effectively making it impossible to make out anything of their faces. Snow started to blow heavily upon the colony, turning weather for worse. Three operatives came forward to greet the Guildsmen, all lightly armed “just in case”. The one in between took scarf off his face and displayed his insignia. “Grand Admiral Golanski, here to meet leaders of the Ryuku Guild. I presume they are already waiting for me.”

It was indeed the case. They have guided them towards the busy administrative building. Admiral left his two agents at guard, to await his come back as close they could stay before security checkpoint. He himself deposited his personal weapons upon request of the staff for duration of his stay here: old-school ballistic hand-cannon and a combat knife. It was noticeably warmer here, Michal would note looking through mining colony’s landscape fading behind the exit. Getting rid of the winter gear that kept him warm on the way here, he wore regular Order attire black uniform of The Order. Now all he had to do was convince the Ryuku to his cause... The Order's cause

A lady from the large reception area got up and rushed over to meet the new guest. She bowed and greeted the visitor before handing him a badge to use while in the building. She motioned to one of the elevators and walked both of them over to it. Inside the elevator was a man standing by the controls. He looked at the Order agent and tried to hide what was clearly disgust, but it leaked through his face regardless. He kept one hand near his waist and turned to make sure his back was never to the visitor. As soon as the man was in, the receptionist left and the door closed. A short ride up and the elevator man motioned for him to exit as the doors opened, where yet another man waited outside to show him the way. As the visitor stepped out, it was very clear that they only went to the second floor. The next man, clearly armed as well, motioned to two others who fell in step behind the two, causing a triangle to be made around the visitor. They exited through a hallway which extended downwards. They began to take multiple turns from hallway to hallway, almost as if in a mindless direction. The pace was very quick, almost rushing as they went down the halls. At one point, one of the men in the back spoke in an odd language and they made a sudden turn again. Ahead, the hallway looked under construction or even damaged. they made no mention of it as they made way to what looked to be a plain office door, much like the many others they had passed before.

Opening the door, it looked like a plain meeting room. An oval table sat in the middle of the area with counters lining the walls. A single chair sat on one side of the table with a simple paper notepad in front of it. Across, three men were sitting and conversing before standing up as the door entered. Two were about middle-aged and in black suits while an elderly looking man was in a traditional looking robe. They walked around the table and stood in a line. The one in the robe spoke up, "My name is Hashi Sho, as you say in standard. Welcome to Miura." He reached out a worn hand.

Clearly, his very presence in this place is not wanted by everyone. He could feel the eyes and general distance they keep from a foreigner like him. Armed Ryukyu may be dispatched to actually see to his safety. That made him glad at the very least that his own people outside are also not only selected from more diplomatic sort, but also heavily armed if ‘accident’ happened during his absence. Still it would be far better, for sake of the talks as well if they never had to deal with any incidents. The thoughts do actually make him miss his weapons, not going out without being appropriately equipped.

That must be their Guildmaster board, or the more important part of it due to level of these talks. Michal smiled, shaking hands with the Hashi Sho over the table with a small but respectful bow for both out of respect and reach. “Grand Admiral Michal Golanski, commanding officer of The Order. Glad to meet you.” He said, noticing a couple of things. Notepad was old-school sight, likely coming with the traditionalism of this branch or just person in question. For all he knows, he might have never left this planet and is not approachable in direct way typical to Omicron edge worlds. The other two were much less so like their leader, in modern suits. “The Order as a whole extends gratitude for hearing us out, despite our unknown status to planet-bound operations of the Gas Mining Guild.” It was true, their interactions were limited to the space-borne security assets of the Guild way before docking ring was constructed, alongside their top leadership who were all but gone now.

He recalls his time spent in Kusari. Blood Dragons, GC, Hogosha and Samura all acted differently. Through one thing in common, honor in this way or another was dominant value in any part of the society he had occasion to take a look on. The other two have not made a move yet, supposing if it has to do something with an established hierarchy around here. Nevertheless, they would had to be introduced sooner than later.

"Ah, nothing to worry about. I don't expect anyone to know what goes on each and every ball of dust," he said as he moved to sit down. He motioned to the seat across from him for the Grand Admiral. The two beside him took seats on either side of the wizened old man. Two of the three men who escorted the Order officer exited the door while one stayed and made what looked to be tea.

"Hisai bin yasai. I'm not sure if you're used to the cold or not. It's quite cold here, as you can tell. The only thing colder is space." The elder guildmaster eyes wandered upwards for a moment, but quickly focused back to their guest. "I don't believe I should be wasting your time with idle talk though. As I said, I am Guild Master Sho, one of three for the Ryukyu Guild. Beside me are... advisors. I'm sorry but Tenson-san and Gihon-san cannot attend this meeting. This is Isamu Jiro and Kaito Nori. They will be assisting me during this."

"Now then, Grand Admiral of the Order. You mentioned some of some very interesting topics though those messages from before. I'd like to hear what you have to say." As he finished the comment, the remaining escort set down three standard looking cups and poured liquid into them. He looked towards the guest, and Sho spoke up, "Would you like some Ucha?"

RE: Talks on Miura - Omicron - 07-25-2015

“Gladly, thank you.” He looked at the liquid before tasting it. Green tea, all through the name evaded him. He smiled to each of the representatives of the Guild before talking. “Back in the Omicrons, The Order is locked in war against alien menace commonly named the Nomads. Using their parasitic ability to possess humans, they have orchestrated inter house conflicts in year of 800 A.S. which you no doubt remember with Rheinland invasion of both Sigma 13 and House of Kusari. My predecessors halted this war and ever since we stood vigil to contain these aliens in Edge Worlds and colonies alike.” He took more sips of the tea before continuing.

“Despite losses and constant interference from Core and Hispanics, we continue to hold ground against often insurmountable odds. As of late, we sought out ways to improve humanity’s chances of survival which brought us to you, The Gas Mining Guild. Your fierce independence and economic prowess would benefit The Order greatly, if you agreed to support our cause with supplies and development of our infrastructure. Economic alliance followed by military one, as I see no better way to express our gratitude than to assure your superiority over Sigma space against anyone wishing to take it from you.”

Faint grin appeared on his face, Golanski knowing of peculiar problem that he could assist with in exchange of their help. “From previous Guildmasters I know that Kurile is splinter in your eyes. Samura controlled world, right in the path of major smuggling route where Hogosha and them similar lot traffic artifacts and goods necessary to Corsair empire. With new jumpholes forming as of late, this planet is right in comfortable reach of our Omicron garrisons. With Exiles pushing into Kyushu, when there will be better time to put an end to this if not now?”
