The perfect Pirate ship - msmith619 - 07-24-2006

I have been a perfect law-abiding citizen. I now want a pirate charracter. I have experimentd with Cruisrs, Bombers, Prison/Luxury liners, all the battleships; with multiple weapon load-outs. Cruisers seemed the best: firepower, cargo capacity (for pirating), semi-maneuverable, little spinning, but, I have a hard time stopping and taking out player ships.
What is the best pirate ship?
What weapons load-out?
I want to be a terror in the Sirus System

Baby-Doc -Large Train
DragonKnight -Kusari Cruiser
Shadowen -Rheinland Cruiser
CruiserDoc -Huegenot Cruiser
Poseidon - soon to be pirate!!

A fighter with tizonas, and a nova and/or cruise disruptor. Fire at the front end of the train btw.

A Fighter? Haven't gone that route.
VHF, HF, LF? Any better suited for this that others? RavenClaw, Talon, Mars Flyer (does anyone use this ship any more?), Chimera, Werewolf, Wrath, Sabre, Greyhound, Slipstream, etc?

A bomber with a CD and a nova. And many tizonas. Assign a key to the CD and other to the torpedo, so you can fire them independently.

I've found that a starflier works great for Pirating, a little limiting on the cargo space, but its worth the maneuverability. If you have wonders, come see me and ask for a ahow. I can show you how to make a starflier ROCK!!!

(J/K, I just had to put it in there.)

Starflyer with Xeno weapons... The absolute terror of New York.

Untill you get up to the BS and Cruiser patrols. Then you die horribly.

I didn't ;) . I just kept ramming the two Admin characters in orbit. :D

Personal Preferance, Battleship, able to defend itself against pesky house's, and players, and Can deal with a Train thats constanly using SB and nanos, not to mention a huge Cargo hold, and If your a good pilot asteroids are no problem, Only field i have problems in is Omi Minor.

On the serious side, i have to say I like the Sabre, getting used to the Avenger, too. I put the Coded DB's and a couple Nomad Cannons, a lancer and Paralyzer for full affect, then add the Nova mines and Torps for good measure. Pretty much a done deal there. But I guess a Bs would not be a bad one, lol, though a good VHF pilot CAN take a BS, just takes a lot of work, AND some cheating (bot and bats, without them a BS is out of VHF ability to kill, and I would use them, tho only try rarely.)

o.0 What about Omega-5? It's a living hell... also what about Bering? :$ I always find ALL systems full of rocks a pain in the butt.

Mabye a BS would be bad since lots of criminal systems ARE full of rocks... -.- I wouldn't think there is a perfect pirate's ship. I'd have thought cruisers were the best comprimise though, not too big and not too week.
