Junker Weapons - Drake - 10-21-2008 So, I've a question for everyone, especially those of the Junker persuasion: What guns should we use? Junker guns pretty well suck, and are fairly limited as well (no class 4-5 turrets, IIRC, and possibly no class 9 guns). But what are the other options? They have no 'true' allies, but lots of neutral/semi-friendly factions. I've seen a few sporting Corsair or Outcast weapons, but that seems a little 'off' to me, since both of the Hispania factions tend to be somewhat unforgiving of anyone using the equipment of their rivals. So, what's left? The Liberty Rogues and Lane Hackers have perhaps the closest relationship with the Junkers, and while both are Outcast-allied their guns aren't as much of a slap in the face to Corsairs. As far as I know the IMG and GMG are somewhat ambivalent and/or completely uninterested in the Junkers. Zoners are always a possibility, and that's what I have been using, but... Meh. The various Houses and their factions are pretty much out, and of course the BHG isn't an option. So, opinions and/or suggestions? Junker Weapons - onca - 10-21-2008 There is a class 9 Barrager, but it's on the weak side (of course). The class 9 Bretonia particle gun is for sale at Trafalgar base, and I see that as fair game. It's pretty good. Also the ubiquitous civvy chainguns should be ok too, although personally I don't like them. Other than that, the odd Nomad cannon or codie if RP's properly. Junker Weapons - me_b_kevin - 10-21-2008 i would stick to anything sold on a junker base and codenames EDIT: junkers aren't supposed to have the best weapons. yeah they aren't the best, but Junkers aren't the warrior types either Junker Weapons - Drake - 10-21-2008 Mm, yeah, being sold on a Junker base would make you think that they're a good choice, but I've seen people told in the past that it's no excuse to use an improper weapon. Junker Weapons - Tenacity - 10-21-2008 Technically, junkers can use any weapon that isnt: -Xeno -Hogosha -Kusari-made -Conflicting with other equipped weapons (cant combine weapons from two enemy groups, for example) GMG weapons are iffy, the GMG arent enemies to the junkers but they arent necessarily friends either. I suppose they'd be ok with some RP basis. Remember - the junkers are black market dealers, they can acquire and sell almost anything you can find in Sirius. I would avoid using known faction weaponry. Many Junkers do indeed use Corsair or Outcast weaponry, but it's slightly discouraged. Personally, I use a mix of civilian, Junker and codes on my fighter. The codes were also specially chosen because they are from wrecks reachable from Junker bases. That's fine and dandy but EVERYONE knows where the coded weapons are and how to salvage them so by the time I or most get to them, they're gone! I use a mix of weaps on my Junker ship. As someone said, they have no true allies but deal with the criminal element so besides known enemies, I consider any of those weapons game. |
