Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - Akumabito - 10-22-2008 Should flying a cap require a guard ID? Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - Zero755 - 10-22-2008 For Cruiser and above, yes. And yes ZOI should be well defined. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - NonSequitor - 10-22-2008 Yes, it makes sense, for destroyer-class on up. ZOI should be well-defined. However, I'm not for making Guard ID acquisition any more difficult than it already is. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - jammi - 10-22-2008 Voted yes for the first (it's logical a NPC faction would give it's most elite pilots captain's rights to their biggest ships. They'd have the best chances of bringing it back in one peice, safeguarding the investment), and defined ZoIs in the second. I also noticed that the vote seems to completely follow the same trend other than one vote that I presume was from Akumabito. Also, I see this thread quickly deteriorating into a firestorm. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - Zero755 - 10-22-2008 I agree with Meggido, we probably shouldnt increase the difficulty to get guard rep. You already have to be full Green to get the ID anyway,. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - me_b_kevin - 10-22-2008 ' Wrote:Also, I see this thread quickly deteriorating into a firestorm. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - jammi - 10-22-2008 Not exactly constructive, but I doubt this thread will last until December the 6th:P And like Meddigo said, Guard rep shouldn't be even harder then it already is. It's something like three solid hours of missions for each faction at the moment to get the full IFF rep, which is whats needed for the ID. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - Reverend Del - 10-22-2008 From my own point of view capital ships should require guard rep and ID, and yes ZOI should be defined. But your poll leaves out one important thing, ZOI is generally well defined anyway. A BPA character's ZOI is Bretonia. A LN's ZOI is Liberty, some are less well defined although all make sense logically, a Corsair fighter's ZOI differs from a corsair caps ZOI, generally a fighter can escort a smuggler carrying artefacts, whereas a capital ship should spend it's time in defence of Crete, and within easy reach should the distress call sound, much the same for Outcasts, although replace cardamine and Malta for artefacts and Crete. There's no ZOI that isn't already well defined if you think about it for more than five minutes, From an Admin point of view, do you really need us to do all your thinking for you? Folks complain about the rules enough as it is, do you want us to produce four hundred more that force you to act like the NPC's? The rules as they stand need some polish, certainly. But they are still pretty darn good and work well. Most folks play fine and never run afoul of them. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - obnoxious1 - 10-22-2008 Agreed on both counts, But I also believe it should be harder to acquire a Guard ID. I see it as it may increase the seriousness of role play & hopefully curb the over abundance of cap whoring that is currently running rampant. Should flying a cap require a guard ID? - Jinx - 10-22-2008 here is a little something that was written some time ago - when it was about how to get guard reputations - just a reminder WHY that is in the IDs - for those that do not believe that the "community" asked for it... "Please do the following to all Guards reputations in the upcoming mod: 1) Have NO guards bribes (as is current). 2) Fix it so normal bribes for the faction DO NOT increase Guards reputations(missions only). 3) FULLY red ALL Guards reputations for starting players. This will fix a lot of oorp stuff with ships and weps and illegal docking and wrong alignments and cutting through faction military systems like they are public parks. As it stands right now, I get the faction rep and "POOF!" now I am neutral in the guards system too. They should have to be earned and hard to get. Vote!" ( community member 4th of september ) now - with the guard reps being the ones for the bigger ships ... do we still stand to what was asked for? ( indeed - for the zoners it would mean that only the admins can fix a guard rep ) this suggestion was replied to mostly positivly - as long as players think they are not affected too much by it - they like it the tough way. - there was also a thread that described the actual plan on how guard reputations would work in 4.85 ( only a concept ) - but i haven t found that thread on the little search i have done. edit: don t mess it up - that is not how it works - but thats what some of the community asked for. - gotto be happy that its not gonne be such a pain to get a guard ID..... . |
