XA - Bowing out gracefully - |nfrared - 11-18-2015 Hi guys, This is a notice to say that the XA is pretty much dead in the water and I no longer intend to pursue it. Many of you already know of the struggles that came with me trying to keep this faction kicking and official and keeping a presence up on the forums and the server. Also my own time commitments in RL are weighing in now also. Much of my time was spent on a POB that did not see much use, which I now see was a mistake to focus so much of my energy on. So rather than a slow death dragged on by relegation to unofficialdom and soforth, I would rather wind up the Xeno Alliance while some among you still remember its glory days, a time which, although I tried, I failed to replicate. The notice can of course be instantly vetoed by any of the remaining members that want to give leadership a try themselves, however I feel that this will quite likely not happen. I had a great time with the XA even if most of it was lone wolf and are unsure of my next move. I am more of a forum writer which did not suit the XA's mold very well. I look forward to pursuing another character perhaps in another more active faction more suited to my play style. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Pavel - 11-18-2015 That sucks man. XA was a great faction and a lot of good people enjoyed either being members or interacting with them. Although everybody could see it coming it still is sad. Thanks for the effort put in saving this faction for a little while longer. If going unofficial or attempting to meet some kind of activity requirement are weighing heavily on your mind and detracting from your own enjoyment of the game, it's my understanding that since this http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=130111&pid=1678476#pid1678476 thread, XA- has already been on the hardship program, meaning that basically the activity tracker relating to them might as well not exist, as admins have somewhat indicated that making the Xenos an active faction is difficult and that XA- is doing a fine job as they are. Just to make sure that if you do decide to pull the plug you make an informed decision, keep in mind the server has only been back up for not very long and combined with fallout 4 drawing everyone elses attention, low activity / enthusiasm is understandable. Check out your steam friends list if you dont believe me. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Black Widow - 11-18-2015 Sad to see another official faction kick the bucket . Bowing out gracefully I think is better than trying to make an existence through obscurity in being unofficial. At least this way you will be remembered for what you were.. I appreciate the intent behind this. I had spent alot of time beginning to rebuild things over the past few months, even beginning to reverse our trend of inactivity, however due to unforeseen circumstances the RL friends I had managed to get interested lost their forum accounts in the rollback and abruptly told me that they would not be returning here, which was a bit of a kick in the teeth. I still think it is better for the faction to go out like this rather than struggle on and delineate from what most of the vets here would remember XA being. I think though, from time to time, you will still see an XA ship here and there. There will be some out there that still have tagged ships and nostalgia will get to them eventually. Also, and this will surely make some people laugh, Oyster Creek (which I guarded so carefully) is up for deconstruction/siege. The honest truth is that POB made me more or less flat broke, and even though Premium Scrap was nicely buffed for Xenos, I still struggled to break even. Having this POB gone will allow me to have a clean break and start fresh. I am open for ideas or invitations as to where I could look for my next roleplay. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Evo - 11-18-2015 Unfortunately this has been a long time coming. I'll always remember that feeling of spewing verbal excrement at passersby and blowing up pretty much anything that moved. I'll remember taking the crap bucket waran I loved so much on so many utterly stupid journeys into NY that started a light show of weapons fire. I'll remember how great of a feeling it was to sink myself into a faction so deeply I actually had to catch myself a few times from thinking "dirty kusarian" whenever I saw someone of Asian descent. I'll remember all those capital ships that ran into little old me and suddenly found themselves severely screwed because skype is OP. More than anything, I'll remember all the fun times I could log on and share this niche faction I fell in love with to the people around me in this community. You missed the glory days by a while unfortunately Infra. I'm sorry Quinn and I lost interest and dumped the faction on you. You did what you could. Bottoms up, that Mother's Finest isn't going to drink itself. is this a bad time to say we're actually nomads in disguise? RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - sindroms - 11-18-2015 Well this is sad. If it makes you feel any better, it looks like both LH and LR are pretty much there as well. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Shinju - 11-18-2015 It is sad, yeah. I've enjoyed all interactions with XA( as friend, enemy and member of XA-) and you, Infra. Saaaaaad days for Disco. Will miss ya, guys.
