The initial survey of the Tottori system has been performed, as dictated on the project overview. Survey team has determined 5 possible locations for review by the overseer, which will be described next.

-----------

First location surveyed was the orbit of Tango, in close proximity to planet Sakaiminato, sector 3-D.

1 2 3

The sight provided the required distance from the regular civilian routes in the system, and careful positioning could shield the installation from frequent solar radiation. However, planners expressed concern for the increased gravitational restraints and structural adaptations that such close proximity to Tango and its larger counterpart Sakaiminato would pose. While relatively equidistant from Suzuka or Ainjima for supplies, it also shown great exposure to any unplanned contacts that could come from the more remote jumpholes we are aware of in the system.
It might be better settled for other purposes than the ones envisioned by this project.

-----------

Second location was inside the Yurasu field, sector 2C. Even more remote than the first location, it was less exposed to prying eyes at a distance, but more isolated from our patrols. There were a few spots that would be possible to clear for the installation, and the field would aid in masking its presence, in addition of being a abundant water source.
One of the potential locations.

-------------

Third location is the close orbit of Planet Izushi , sector 5-D. Much closer to supply sources than the previous two. While proper orbital placement might disguise it from travelers of the Kyushu - Miyazaki commercial route, any vessel that comes into sector 5-D would be able to locate the Complex at the orbit of Izushi. Would the current security and political situation in Kusari be stable, and Samura cooperation been assured by way of finance, it would be the best candidate.

------------

Tojinbo Ice field appeared to be one of the weakest candidates on the initial survey, since the presence of Suzuka station and racecourse is a flare in the remote system, and it may attract too many unwanted eyes to the area. However, the Tojinbo is quite spread out, and a location hidden in the far edges of the area covered, like in 6-B or 7-B even, could pass unnoticed by travelers heading to the beacons of Suzuka or Tokai.

---------------

Last location is a sort of gamble, betting on closeness of the civilian routes and orbital Geo-synchronization on Planet Kurayoshi, sector 7-D.
The dust rings and large planet could mask the complex from the travelers of the Tokai route, and supply convoys could come directly from Kyushu or Suzuka without raising high suspicion. Gravitational controls would be demanding, but less serious than location 1.
Any of them would still require some tough security measures to dissuade any passerby that comes snooping around, although nothing more than what is required for Hogosha closed installations. Contacts should be arranged with the Suzuka Hogosha for space security measures.

The gap between reports has led to much of the past survey data becoming obsolete.

There has been many political changes in Kusari, and particularly in Tottori. Planet Izushi is now orbited by an Imperial Forces battlegroup, Suzuka station has been loaned to the Kempeitai, and the traffic the system is expected to experience has raised concerns for the safety of the other locations.

The patrons of the Takarabune have expressed their concerns regarding the delays of the Sakurajima project, and believe that an alternative is to be sought. Word is that the Takarabune will, on the next general meeting, ask permission from the Association to settle on Anijima itself and expand the secluded den of the Hogosha to accommodate bigger and more ambitious needs. Perhaps Sakurajima will become a new wing of the venerable hideout.
