Iejima Station was constructed in 822 A.S. and serves as a major storage depot and sellpoint for the Helium-3 the Gas Miners Guild harvests in its system of residence, Sigma-59.

The base's position in extended orbit of the Okinawa jumpgate makes it a prime stop-off point for fuel transports heading in and out of the system. Its proximity to other Guild assets also means the surrounding space is tightly controlled by the GMG paramilitary, as evidenced by the wrecks of several Outcast fighters in the system, left to rot as a stark warning to those who may harbour ill intent.
