To: The Crayter Republic - Commonwealth of House Liberty - 12-07-2015 To: The Crayter Republic
From: Secretary Elton McKenna, Guadalajara, Vespucci System Greetings, Crayterians. My name is Elton McKenna. I am the Secretary of Foreign Affairs for The Commonwealth of House Liberty, based out of Vespucci. I am reaching out to you in the hopes of establishing relations with our neighbors. With this missive, we'd like to discuss the possibilities of opening trade between our two nations. Joint patrols to repel pirates, such as the Outasts and Lane Hackers, who occupy our territory. The disruption of the Cardamine and Slave trade, putting an end to the Maltese criminal cartels, and effectively cutting off their access to this section of Sirius. Cooperation on the frontlines of Gallia. All topics we're interested in discussing, as well as any you'd be willing to throw on the table. Our Proposal Trade: An established trade agreement between The Commonwealth and the Crayterian Republic, for resources such as Food, Minerals, Munitions, Consumer Goods. Joint Patrols:Operations between The Commonwealth Legion (Hellfire Legion) and the Colonial Military in the systems of Coronado, Cortez, Magellan, Kansas, for the purposes of security, disruption of piracy and other criminal activity. Smuggling/Slavery disruption:Joint operations between the Hellfire Legion and Colonial Military to disrupt Maltese, Junker and independent Cardamine trafficking, slavers and other illegal goods. The Frontlines:Joint fleet and logistic support against the foreign menace, The Royal Navy of Gallia within the system of Magellan. Logistic support extending further. Further operational discussions can be handled with Military and Legion officers, if and when cooperation between neighbors becomes a reality. Furthermore, allow me to extend my personal condolances for the losses in the Taus. A tragedy like that should never be forgotten. I do look forward to your response, and further talks between our nations. In solidarity, Elton McKenna, Secretary of Foreign Affairs. RE: To: The Crayter Republic - Teerin - 01-08-2016 Secretary McKenna, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us. However, I must be honest in regards to the mixed feelings our Parliament has about any improvement in the relationship between our two peoples. When Crayter last reached out to the powers that be in Vespucci a few years ago in mid-819 AS, the Legion took a firm and strictly neutral stance, despite our needs at the that time. That said, the Parliament Cabinet has assured me that a more cordial association would be mutually beneficial, regardless of prior treatment. Given our ongoing economic surge and population boom, additional commerce is very welcome, particularly for infrastructure materials. Anything that can be provided as a means to assist with that would be met with much thanks, and plenty of credits in compensation. With apologies for being unaware of your current sources of fuel, if it is of interest to you, your merchants are free to obtain some of our excess Deuterium from Pecos for a fair price. Your armed services branch, the Legion, is free to extend its patrols to the Barrier Rim within Coronado. Any mutual hostiles fleeing from there may be chased, yet I must ask that capital warships seek permission from active Crayter Military units first. Enemies withdrawing to Baffin may not be pursued, with respect to the wishes of our TAZ allies. Furthermore, I am sure you will understand that attacking the lawful forces of either Liberty or Bretonia within our borders is not permitted. Withal, you shall find eager cooperation from our pilots in hunting down any slavers, Outcasts, and Cardamine haulers alike. As for Kansas and Vespucci, I spoke with our Admiral yesterday about the necessary fleet logistics for such a move. I regret to inform you that extending our patrols to those systems would be quite impractical. We are already shifting much of our forces out of Bretonia in order to aid our Tau flight squadrons in recapturing Tau-44. While the Crayter Intelligence Service, the 17th "Rapiers" Special Operations Squadron, may possibly stop by from time to time, I cannot offer any guarantee that they will do so. Fighting off the despicable Gallic Royal Navy within Magellan, and I fear soon Cortez or California as well, is within our operational capacity. We forsee no problem or conflict of interest on our side, as under Article V, Clause 4 of the Treaty of Curacao of 821 AS, all units participating within Combined Fleet Operations are prohibited from conducting tasks which are partisan interests. This means that the Liberty Forces shall not engage those hostile only to them. I trust your forces will know well to do the same. Should you have further items to discuss, I am open to prolonged discussion and new considerations. Good day, sir. Sincerely, Nelson Steele, Minister of State, Crayter Republic Parliament RE: To: The Crayter Republic - Durandal - 03-20-2016 To: The Crayter Republic
From: Secretary Elton McKenna, Guadalajara, Vespucci System Following recent events during which Legion and allied assets were threatened within the vicinity of barrier gate, the Commonwealth has convened and chosen to withdraw our offer of cooperation. We are greatly saddened by this recent turn of events, but cannot in good conscience choose to work with a nation whose military brings an overzealous and chest thumping rhetoric to bare against their own potential allies. Should things change in the future, perhaps we can revisit this avenue again. Elton McKenna, Secretary of Foreign Affairs. |
