I know this is heresy. EVE online thread - Strichev - 12-14-2015
So, I've been playing for a week or so and got really hooked on that whole pointy/clicky game. Of course there is a part of me seething with rage, for I have betrayed Freelancer! Indeed, I have, but I do not regret it yet. After years of FL EVE is a refreshingly interesting game.
Confusing at times, unforgiving and somewhat different in atmosphere than FL. Well, its atmosphere is no match for the glorious RP space we have here, but nice enough anyway.
Anyhow, does anyone here play EVE? Cause I could use some good FL Veteran buddies in EVE.

The problem isn't the time only. The problem is the money you must pay for it, aside of the time. Sure, it's a good RP enviroment by looking at trailers, but keep in mind people are still on Disco for three main reasons:
1) They usually do not have a high-end PC and/or good internet.
2) They don't need to spend a lot of time in-game.
3) They don't need to pay $15 monthly to play a game.

Especially when you study to become an aircraft engineer, and your stipend is 40$...
But back in time I have played couple of trials... Actually launched EVE recently just to close it after 30 seconds...
I don't know why.

nothing to do in eve really, doesnt worth to give 15$ every month.
Only thing you can do is, mining and joining a corp, help them in battles and more mining/hauling
waste of time

you can't manually pilot the ship....that was always the biggest turn off for me.

ranging from 20 EURO to 10 EURO per month is quite a lot,so..yeah..i would have played it if it wasn't for the subscription(tried it a few times)

Same with others. i played for about a year, but the cost is just ridiculous for what you get. If it didnt cost, i'd probably play it again.

Freelancer is the best, i played Eve Online for years and OGame and so many other space clicky and browser games
I found that freelancer is the best even without a single mod added ... so imagine it with what Disco developers are doing... it's EPIC
from my prospective - Also i don't like paying lots of money just to buy a ship or play in a certain area.
Freelancer Disco Developers and Admins provide the game and updates here for FREE ! which i love
and actually this makes me always want to donate because the efforts spent here are enormous and appreciated.

20 Euro is even more than $15 in exchange to PLN, Jesus. 80 PLN per MONTH. Ugh, no, danke.
