Undocking Issue - superelastic - 10-30-2008 Hi folks Decided to have a freelancer nostalgia revisit last week and downloaded the discovery mod for the new ships, weapons, etc. I have bought my first cruiser - a Dragon - from Chugoku station in Kyoto. Unfortunately, it gets "clip" stuck in the asteroid when I launch. This is a tad frustrating. The mod description mentions a simple docking/undocking system and I'm wondering if the mod has installed properly (I have uninstalled and reactivated once). I get the new ships and guns, but the docking thing doesn't bring joy. I have searced the forums but only found references to a different type of station. Bearing in mind I bought the ship from the same place I'm undocking from, I would expect this to work. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Superelastic Undocking Issue - Derkylos - 10-30-2008 Some ships, noteably the Blood Dragon caps, get stuck in some stations, noteably the "asteroid-type" pirate bases (Chogoku being one), in open SP. In MP, ships spawn "outside" the station as it were, and rarely get stuck, whereas, in SP, ships spawn "inside" the docking bay, which would be fine in a fighter or any ship with a small hitbox, but completely messes up bigger things. If you keep trying to undock a BD cruiser, restarting the game/computer etc, eventually, it will come out (I got one out in open SP). Alternatively, edit the files so that it is buyable on a planet, and go from there...(dont do this if you're gonna play MP 'tho...). My advice is, if you are gonna play open SP, avoid the asteroid-type bases, and all the new bases like the plague, unless you're in a freighter or smaller. In single player, you always launch from dock no 1, except in very rare cases (eg:Tripoli). Undocking Issue - superelastic - 10-31-2008 Cheers for the replies folks, I'll try the linked hints but suspect I'll have to opt for a bit of ini configuring and stick it on a planet. All the more reason to check out the multiplayer:)(don't worry I'll reinstall before trying that) |
