Trying to get Freelancer tag in a transport - hack - 10-31-2008

OK, here goes:

Current setup: Large transport with 5 Level 4 transport guns, lvl 8 armour, Transport graviton shielding

With 4.85 coming out it was suggested that those of us RP-ing independent traders should use the Freelancer tag. So I went about lowering all my tags to neutral and raise some others....

So far , so good.

Now here comes the hard part: I almost have a Bounty Hunter Guild Guard Tag. Currently I have no IFF showing, but I don't want to get the BHGG tag, I was trying to get the Freelancer tag. The Freelancer tag is third from the top and almost tipping over from Neutral to green. The first two green are bhgg and zoner. I am afraid to go kill some GMG then take a zoner bribe, because it might push me over the top and give me the guard tag.

Is there any way to lower the BHGG Rep short of killing BHGG? I see that their enemies are criminals, so could I make a few criminal bribes and lower it? There is just no way I am going to be able to take out 3 or 4 BHGG just to lower the rep for the BHGG so I can complete the Freelancer tag.

Conversely, should I give up on the Freelancer tag and stay with no IFF? I have a lot of neutrals on my rep sheet, and that may get me a sanction that I don't want. I would imagine a lawful trader would not be neutral to the Corsairs, Outcast, I.E. Pirate and Criminal factions.

Ideas? I am about out of them.

I'd say tagless should be fine,
As would neutrality, you aren't friendly with the lawfuls so why would the unlawfuls hate you and vice versa. Either way the pirates will pirate you, and if you're fully lawful you won't go around docking on their bases. I don't see any problem really.

But if you want a tag Zoner wouldn't be too bad - they're neutral to all aswell

My independent trader is tagless. Works just fine, I never need to kill NPCs anyway since my shield holds them off.

The neutrality will only get you in trouble if you use it to dock where you shouldn't, as far as I know.
