make piracy easier - Qur'chak - 12-29-2015 hi devs, I just thought its good if i tell u how to make piracy better for start remove gunboat patrols plis, they make piracy impossible in some areas. i get it lets say capitol worlds new london for example need battleshep patrols but this is bad and makes piracy very very hard: http://i.imgur.com/ElO37zI.jpg then theres distance from lane to gate this is good distance http://i.imgur.com/9XXoous.jpg and this bad distance http://i.imgur.com/Sdexiaf.jpg Lanes shouldnt be next to gates because it makes it easy for traders to jump back and they can dock to lane before pirate jumps after them. We pirates need also some means to disrupt lanes from afar so traders cant escape. I dunno how exactly lol, maybe some special CD like equipment, which can disrupt lanes from 4-5k away and moves as fast as cruise disruptors do. Thats just my few ideas its up to you what you make with them hehe RE: make piracy easier - Dawson Base - 12-29-2015 Piracy should NOT be easier. The gate distance thing, however, yes - is an issue. Hopefully it can be fixed without screwing the economy up more due to changes in trip time. About the disruptor idea: no. If you want to pirate someone just stay in the middle of lane and disrupt it while someone is coming. Lets say it had 5k range, so the transport will just cruise away before you come close enough --> Old & good sentinel CM is awesome with its 170 CMs. And it is your fault you was too far away. It is fine as it is, SNAC already can take down a 5ker with one salvo if you deactivate its shields. The only thing I agree is the distance between TL & JG, but if I remember well, it was already discussed withno effects. About capital ship patrols, they shouldn't spawn on lanes, just near planets & bases IMHO, but it was discussed as well. However, if you ask to remove them from lanes: you've got yes from me. @nOmnomnOm has a point as well. Get some practice and you will learn how to kite against gboat fire. That is of course unless you meant purely unarmored 5kers in which case that holds true for every unarmored transport (I think).
