Dear admins,

We need your advice on this thread urgent please.

Some guys here see BMF metagaming when they switch to BAF caps just to protect their business.

The case here: is that BMF was flying transports full of ore and a nomad bomber appeared so they docked and switched to BAF caps to engage nomads. is that Metagaming? if yes, then we will need special approval from admins on one of the below:

1- Allow BMF to fly their own caps.
2- Allow BMF to fly BAF caps to protect their business and trade routes from Nomads, Mollys, Corsairs and Red Hessians attacks.

There is no problem at all if you log off your trade ship to log another ship to counter a thread IF (!) you are not pvp dead.

If you, for example, was shot on your BMF and then you log your BAF to shoot the enemy, you violate rules. Even if you make it to the base, but your shield was dropped below 50 %, you are pvp dead and you cannot log another ship to fight the enemy that attacked you.

There is no rule that keeps you from doing this: your BMF sees a Molly. You run away, and make it to base without being pvp dead. You can log off your BMF and log a fighting ship and attack the Molly.

It is cleaner if it is the same ID, but there is no problem if a BMF (BMM-ID) logs off and logs a BAF. It can irply justified with "we called the authorities for help."

It's kind of messy and uncool if you log off your BMM-ID and log on a GRN-ID to kill the Molly. That would be weird and could perhaps qualify as oorp/metagaming - even though I doubt it. It's just bad, so don't do this.

You do not need permission to have your own caps and you won't get permission to use them anyway.

I don't think admins are going to let you fly with caps, you'd have to SRP some warship for that purpose. The best you can do is having good escort force, with fighters, bombers and gunboats docked in crucial points alongside your trade routes.

Metagaming ?nope ,however:
A K'hara bomber uncloaked and started an engagement(knowing k'hara was before uncloaking ,but since you saw the bomber you were in close proximity) and then you docked with the attacker near you,switched to BAF ships to kill him? that sounds like a pvp death

so..approval from admins to fly caps?you have no chances for that and you don't need it either,however..a sanction if events went as i expect they went..well..will get my answer soon Wink
