Construction Progress News:

My name is Dr. Mark Johnson and I am pleased to announce that stockpiling of Medical Equipment has been started to equip the interim hospital on the Research Vessel IMG|RV-Scotia. The goal of aquiring not only the drugs, but also the medical equipment is to to train medical personell and to commence field testing for compatibility with IMG hardware and software on Falkland.

My name is Rebecca Jameson, and I can proudly report that the Cathedral has been completed. We miners call the excavation site which will house the Rehablilitations Center "Cathedral" because of its rather impressive dimensions. We have completed the shotcrete lining of the natural rock walls to give additional strength to the interior. Furthermore, the X4-membrane lining has been finished and now creates a barrier between rock, included ice, meltwater or any other material that we do not want inside the facility.

In this picture you can see the X-4 membrane being put up as a last step to sealing the Cathedral. With this step completed, construction of the facilities can be launched.

The only drilling work that still has to be done is for infrastructure and access tunnels, so we expect some more noise and dust in there - but that's the way things are in this business. Mainly automated mining robots will do this work now. In the end, the access and infrastructure tunnels will look like Tunnel A-34 that has been finished already.

The main work will consist of constructing the buildings that will be housing the medical facilities. We expect a building time of at least a month, not unlikely two months if issues are encountered. A large Deuterium tank is also being constructed now to act as an emergency energy source for the facility in case of power outage of the main systems.
