»STARTING MESSAGE«

Good day.

I demand an explanation as to why your patrol ships engaged one of our civilian craft within the safe zones of Barrier gate - And as you know, that area is exempt from Colonial jurisdiction. Nor is Sorted Artifacts listed as contraband.

Quoting an extract from your laws.

Quote:Section 1 [Trade Interdiction, Contraband]

The following goods are considered contraband:
Counterfeit Software, Black Market Munitions, Synthetic Marijuana, Nox, Human Organs, Cardamine, Liquid Cardamine, Stabiline, Colonial technology (Article IV), Hostile technology (Article IV).

Quote:Section 4 [Territory]
The following regions are considered the sovereign territory of this Republic. As such, these laws are applicable in the following space

Coronado: The entire star system, with the exception of a five kilometer radius around the Freelance installation known as Barrier Gate Station.

As you can imagine, I'm not a very happy person at the moment. Especially if some of our more vulnerable workers are at risk.

Greetings, unidentified person.

This incident was duly noted by the Crayter Republic's Military officers who were also present. There are a few intriguing facts here:

First of all, you willingly seem to have altered the "logs" that you provided, so that it may somehow show you or your associates in a good light. That is, however, not the case - since we know well enough what happened.

Moreoever, since you brought the very laws of our nation into this petty debate, I thought it's only natural that i check what the problem is. I was both awed and entertained when i read your transmission, only to see that you contradict yourself quite well. As you yourself quoted our laws, there is a 5k radius around the Barrier Gate station where we do not impose our laws. Still, looking at the logs you provided as well as the reports of our own officers, it is clear that your associates were caught outside that 5k radius - at 1.7k outside of it, to be precise - which implies they were still subject to the Republic's laws. It's irrelevant whether the ship in question did fly inside the 5k perimeter after being caught, since when it was halted by our officers, it was still outside of it. Even so, no matter if a certain individual is or not within that specific proximity of the station, if he is deemed to be an enemy of the Republic, he will be treated accordingly. I'm sure i don't need to elaborate on this matter.

Simply put, whomever was flying that vessel chose to carry contraband, namely Synthetic Marijuana, through our space. That tags him as a smuggler, thus a criminal, and anyone aiding as accomplices - all who are subject to our Military's efforts of eliminating unlawful activity in Coronado.
