Guten tag pilots.

I have just been the subject of a brutal attack and extortion by a pirate in the New London system. The gabelkopf stopped me in the trade lane and immediately demanded a 20 million credit payment for my life.

You should all watch out for this low-life, as I doubt this was a targeted attack, having made no particular enemies since taking command of my own ship.

Ship Designation: Pride.
Ship Class: Waran bomber

At least I can laugh at the irony of someone so pathetic as to name their ship after a virtue they so clearly lack!

I usually accept losses to piracy as part of the job, but I am sure I am not alone in thinking this sort of gross extortion is completely unacceptable! How can a trader make a living, having to pay these sort of amounts to pirates in order to make a 5 million credit profit?!

Anyway, if anyone else has problems with this punk, feel free to post details in this channel.

Wolfgang over and out.

Message Reads Wrote:Salutations, Mr Busch.

We here at BMM can relate to your concern. It is every trader's best interest to benefit through profit, and vicious trade-lane pirates can stall the progress that people such as you and I try to make in our own profit. When these delinquents point their weapons and rob us of our hard earned credits, it takes away from not only ourselves, but the families that rely on this income. This is simply unnacceptable.

To compensate, BMM has granted you a single Reimbursement Card:

OFFICIAL BMM REIMBURSEMENT CARD

This card entitles Mr Wolfgang Busch to a free fill of his/her cargo hold with high quality Gold Ore, as compensation for his/her recent losses.

EXPIRES: N/A, SINGLE USE. REDEEM AT LOCAL BMM ORE MINER / DISTRIBUTOR.

Hopefully this will keep your business healthy and keep you engaged with the Kingdom when it comes to trade.

Best Wishes.
Signed,

Wilbur Hughes.

Guten tag Herr Hughes.

Danke for your generous offer, you do your corporation and the nation of Bretonia a great service by setting such a great example of community spirit and showing such concern for an independent trader. This is the first time I have had dealings with BMM, and with one communication you have already earned my utmost respect.

But the morale of my crew is even more important than immediate profits, and we take pride in standing on our own two feet, as it were. So I hope you will not be offended that I must decline your thoughtful offer of assistance.

It would be more than a pleasure to do business with BMM though, and you can be sure to expect a visit from us to purchase some of your product in the near future.

As far as trading in Bretonia goes, one unfortunate incident is not enough to put me off conducting my business in the Kingdom, especially considering the popularity of Bretonian gin with my customers in Rheinland!

Until next time, danke again for your generosity, and gut luck with all your business.

Wolfgang over and out.

RE: [WARNING] To: Bretonia (BPA and Traders) - Bretonia Police Authority - 03-13-2016

[color=#FFA500]Kapitan Wolfgang Busch,

We are sorry to hear of your plight.

Rest assured, our Constables will be on the look out for this miscreant and we will arrest him at the earliest opportunity.

We will endeavour to increase our Patrols of New London.

But, we are sorry to say, due to the ongoing War and constant attacks by Corsairs, Mollys and other such undesirables, we cannot always guarantee the safety of visitors to Bretonia.

Guten tag, men and women of the BPA.

Danke for your reassurances about the increased patrols. I know the BPA has a tough job on their hands, and these sorts of random attacks by individual ships are the hardest sort of criminality to combat. Please do not take my warning message as any sort of comment on the ability of the BPA, but simply an urgent transmission warning other traders to steer clear if this ship appears on their sensors.

If I can offer any logistical assistance, particularly in your fight against the Corsairs who are a menace to my homeland as well, drop me a line and I'll see what we can do.

Fur now, danke, and keep doin' what you do BPA.

Guten Tag Herr Busch.

I am Interspace Commerce's representative in Rheinland. More importantly, I am the person who you should have first seeked to speak with.

Do you think warning other traders would help in your next close-up with a pirate gang? They will simply sneer behind your back. Do you think a single Reimbursement Card is enough to run a serious business? Or perhaps BPA's soft words will increase your account balance?

We here at Interspace Commerce specialize in your problems. We understand what it means to pay pirates in full and you will never have that fear again with the insurance packages that we offer. Simply drop by Bonn Station on your way back from Bretonia and we will work out the details.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
- Matthias D. Falkenrath

Guten tag, Herr Falkenrath.

On my way back from Bretonia today, and having seen your communication, I thought we'd give you a visit...

Unfortunately my arrival at Bonn Station seems to have been outside of your working hours. Didn' particularly surprise me on account of it being the middle of the night. Anyway, I appreciate the effort Interspace Commerce has taken to get my local representative to contact me, instead of just "whoever's in Bretonia and available". On the other hand, your face doesn't exactly have "customer service" written all over it. If you're lookin' for new customers a little smile might help...

...

... **little smile**

Hahaha... only jokin' Herr Falkenrath. But, really, the smile wouldn't hurt...

Well, just to put your mind at rest, I was never under any illusion that my broadcast would do me any personal good, so I'm not a complete insurance write-off I hope, eh?!

But I'm sure you can understand that I've never had dealings with your organisation, and your presence in Rheinland has been somewhat... hmmm... shall we say sparse, for the last few years.

Not to say that we can't do business, but me an' the crew would like to know what you're about before we start making any long term arrangements.

In any case, I managed to meet one of your representatives for a less formal chat at the Bonn bar...

Herr Hoffman was very helpful, and over a few bottles of Rheinbier, talked me through some of your insurance plans. I see you've got a load of options available, and when I've had time to talk it through with the crew I might jus' be in touch.

Herr Falkenrath, Auf Weidersehen fur now.

Wolfgang over and out.
