Development Notice: POB rework deployment phase 2 - Alley - 04-01-2016

After months of work, you might have taken notice of the previous thread explaining what phase two is going to introduce. Tomorrow in the afternoon, at around 15:00 GMT +1 the necessary work to prepare the deployment of phase two will be initiated.

As explained previously, Core levels will cease to exist and instead you will be prompted to specialize your base which will cause it to enter Tech Level 1, with further progress causing your base to be able to upgrade to the next tech level as you unlock the requirements. This will become easier to track, along with pretty much all kind of POB operations with the new web interface we'll introduce shortly after.

As the current POBs are not compatible with the new system, they are all going to operate on the legacy system. You will still be able to build and use legacy modules but all specialized modules with tech tree requirements will be unavailable to you. Tomorrow will be focused on setting up all the necessary foundations to deploy the pob update and the web interface.

There will be no interruption of service, however the POB plugin will be disabled while we work behind the scenes.

Not all of the new modules are finished and therefore a bunch of Tech 2 modules are missing and all of Tech 3 are not implemented. However the brand new modules available after deployment are:

Outpost Tech 1: Satellite Hangar, S.C.O.U.T Hangar,
Processing Centre Tech 1: Refinery Module, Assembly Line Module, Waste Management Module,
Common: Power Generator, Hydroponics, Biodome, new Shield Modules (3 of them)
Trade Hub Tech 1: Adv. Storage Module, Stock Market Regulation Point (allows interaction with the stock market module), Hyperion Factory
Pirate Installation Tech 1: Smuggler Den (unlawful version of the stock market)
Nomad (no tech): Armor Upgrade, Hive
Depot (no tech): Armor Upgrade, Storage Module

Deployable Battleships and the Research Station tech tree are unavailable tech trees.

I think it was intentionally made complicated so people would go along and be like "yea this is good idea" without knowing what's going on
