Guten Tag Herr Falkenrath.

You might remember speakin' with me about insurance against pirate attacks?

I had a few words with your man Hoffman over at Bonn at the time. But, well, since then I've joined up with another Kapitan and I wanted to find out a bit more about your insurance packages for start-up companies. Flyin' through New York earlier, I bumped into Kapitan Ana... err, didn' catch her last name, but Kapitan of the IC|Juneau. Anyway, she said to have a word with you about it when I got back to Rheinland.

I'll look forward to seein' you again Herr Falkenrath. Tschuss fur now.

Wolfgang over and out.

Kapitan Wolfgang Busch,

It's a pleasure to hear from you again. I have some very interesting insurance packages which I could show you after I receive a few more details about VF.

Start-up companies always get discounts, it's one of our main politics in insurance. Especially after our return in Rheinland's market it is our duty to help its economy get on its feet as I have personally promised to our Chancellor. Anyway here is the details we want to know:

- The number of the vessels of your company.
- The number of each type of ship independently (5 transports, 10 fighters, etc).
- The average number of systems you travel through during a single shipping run.
- The average time VF assets travel in-space every month.
- The average number of non-House systems you travel through during a single shipping run.
- The average number of systems labeled as "war zones" you travel through during a single shipping run. The following systems are identified as war zones.
- New London
- Manchester
- Magellan
- Kyushu (new)
- Tau-29 (new)
- A list with all the commodities that your transports may carry in a shipping run.
- A list with all the organizations that may attack your vessels during a single shipping run. The more factions you add, the higher the insurance cost will be, however if you are ever attacked by a faction not listed in the signed contract, then we will not cover the costs. As per corporate policy, the Lane Hackers are added by default on that list.
- A signed statement in which you will clarify that VF assets are at all times well-maintained by recognized shipyards. This statement may be used to not repay an insurance claim if it is found out that lack of proper maintenance influenced, even partly, the event in question.

Finally, I would like to inform you that any systems which do not possess an Ageira-manufactured trade lane or jump gate are not protected by this contract. In addition, due to excessive danger and inability to calculate the risk factors, the systems captured by the Kingdom of Gallia are also ineligible. These systems are the following: Leeds, Edinburgh, Tau-31, Tau-23.

All the information we need can easily be returned by the AI of your company's data computer. Nothing to worry about. I hope I will hear again from you soon, Herr Busch.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
- Matthias D. Falkenrath

Hallo Herr Falkenrath.

Danke fur gettin' back to me so quick there. I've... well, my man who know's what he's doin's had a play with the ship's computer and we've got some numbers fur you. Our ships are currently delivering to a number of locations, some of those routes aren't exactly covered by your insurance. Anyway, if we can insure our main shipping within the Houses to begin with, I reckon that'd suit us nicely right now.

I've attached the details for our main trade routes down below:

I'm glad to hear about your policy on start-up companies, lot of corporations your size don't really think beyond their bottom line. To me, the ethic behind your discount is more important than the discount itself, if you get my meanin'? Startin' to make me think it's a gut thing to have Interspace swingin' their weight about in Rheinland again.

Anyway, lookin' forward to hearing back from you Herr Falkenrath, I hope this will be the start of a mutually beneficial business relationship.

... Oh, ja, if there's anythin' missing from our data dump, let me know!

Wolfgang over and out.

Kapitan Wolfgang Busch,

I am terribly sorry for taking so long to answer your response. Business delegations from Liberty are visiting us constantly at Bonn Station looking for our input and advice on how to invest on Rheinland. I believe flow will eventually stabilize after a few more months pass.

My personal proposition is for you to pick the two-months cycle program. This basically means that you purchase insurance every 2 months for your company's ships. Long-term insurance is not something which I would recommend because that would contain many additional terms on the contract, which usually translates into additional costs should insurance rates are radically increased within that time frame (because of war, goods shortage, embargo).

Thank you for collecting and sending the data which I requested. I have prepared the Terms and Conditions of our new contact, but first we need to finish customizing your insurance plan.

A

Additional Interest Insured (AI)
A company or person who has been named as an additional interest insured on a policy can be liable for an accident that involves an insured person or space vehicle. For example, a lienholder can be an additional interest insured.

Anti-Theft Device (ATD)
There are essentially two types of anti-theft devices: passive and active. Passive devices require no action or activation and automatically arm themselves when the space vehicle is turned off, the ignition key is removed or a door is shut. Active devices require some action or activation, such as pushing a button or placing a "lock" somewhere in your vehicle. Typically with active devices, you must re-activate them every time you set them or they won’t work. Keep in mind that you could get a discount for having an authentic Ageira anti-theft device in your space vehicle.

B

Bodily Injury Liability Coverage (BI)
If an insured person is legally liable for an accident, BI coverage pays for injuries/death to people involved in the accident other than the insured driver. BI also pays for legal defense costs if you are sued. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

C

Collision Coverage (COL)
When your insured vehicle overturns or collides with another object, Collision Coverage pays for the damage to your vehicle. COL also may extend to a non-owned vehicle or one rented for personal use that is in your custody or that you are operating. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

Comprehensive Coverage (COM)
If your insured space vehicle is damaged due to an event other than a collision, COM will pay for the damage. This includes damages from fire, cosmic and planetary radiation, asteroid impacts, acid rain and vandalism. If your vehicle is stolen, Comprehensive covers transportation and loss of use expenses when applicable.

Continuously Insured (CON)
Being continuously insured means your insurance coverage from an insurer or more than one insurer was in effect at all times, without a break or lapse in coverage for any reason.

D

Deductible (DED)
A deductible is the amount you agree to pay out of pocket for damage resulting from a specific loss or accident. Generally, choosing a higher deductible will lower your premium.

Declarations Page (DP)
Also known as a space vehicle insurance coverage summary, this page is provided by your insurance company and lists the following:
- Types of coverage you have elected
- Limit for each coverage
- Cost for each coverage
- Specified vehicles covered by the policy
- Types of coverage for each vehicle covered by the policy
- Other information applicable to the policy

F

Full Coverage (FC)
"Full coverage" is a common term that people use to describe how much vehicle insurance coverage they have. Though there is no such thing as FC, it often implies that the policy has more than just Liability coverage.

L

Life Insurance (LI)
Life insurance is a financial safety net for your family. If you pass away, your life insurance policy will pay a lump sum of money to your beneficiaries. There are a few common types of LI: term, final expense and permanent. See more on the different types of life insurance.

Limits
An insurance coverage limit is selected by you and is the most an insurance company will pay for damages or injuries that apply to the coverage. Most Houses have laws that specify the minimum limit that must be purchased for each required insurance coverage.

Loan/Lease Payoff Coverage (LLP)
LLP, sometimes called "gap" coverage, pays the difference between what you owe on your vehicle and what your insurance pays if your vehicle is declared a total loss or stolen and not recovered, less your Comprehensive or Collision deductible.

M

Medical Payments Coverage (MedPay)
MedPay is an optional insurance coverage that pays for reasonable and necessary medical and funeral expenses for covered persons. These expenses must be incurred as a result of an auto accident.

N

Named Insured (NI)
The first person in whose name the insurance policy is issued.

O

Occasional Pilot (OP)
A person who is not the primary or principal driver of the insured vehicle is an occasional driver.

P

Property Damage Liability Coverage (PD)
If an insured person is legally liable for an accident, PD coverage pays for damage to others' property resulting from the accident. PD also pays for legal defense costs if you are sued. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

Policy Expiration Date (PED)
Your current insurance policy ends on your policy expiration date, which is found on your current policy documents, Declarations Page (Dec Page), insurance identification card or recent cancellation notice. This date should not be confused with payment due dates.

Pilot Improvement Course (PIC)
Pilot age 55 and older can take a voluntary pilot improvement course to refresh and enhance their piloting skills. Taking this course may qualify these pilots for a discount if they meet eligibility requirements.

Personal Injury Protection Coverage (PIP)
PIP is a coverage in which the vehicle insurance company pays, within the specified limits, the medical, hospital and funeral expenses of the insured person, people in the insured vehicle and pedestrians struck by the insured vehicle. PIP is the basic coverage implemented in no-fault vehicle insurance.

Parking Location (PL)
A parking location is the place you primarily park your vehicle when you're not using it. Generally, this is your primary residence.

Principal Pilot (PP)
The person who drives a shuttle most often is the principal pilot.

Primary Residence (PR)
A primary residence is the place where you will live for the majority of your policy term.

Premium
A premium is the amount of money paid to an insurance company in return for insurance protection.

Pilot Status (PS)
People can be added to policies with the following types of pilot status:
- Rated: Actively pilots vehicles on the policy
- Excluded: Not allowed to pilot vehicles on the policy and will not be covered under your policy in the event of an accident
- Listed: Colleagues of the insured person or legal entity who do not drive the vehicles on the policy

Policy Term (PT)
The length of time your policy is active and in force is your policy term.

Primary Use (PU)
Primary use is how you mainly use your vehicle. PU options include to/from work, business, pleasure or industrial use.

R

Rental Reimbursement Coverage (RR)
Rental Reimbursement provides rental vehicle coverage if you have a claim that is covered under Comprehensive or Collision coverage. Daily rental amounts are subject to the limit purchased.

S

Spaceside Assistance Coverage (SA)
SA provides services such as towing, engine repair and fuel transfer in-space to customers, who can elect the service for an additional premium if it is not already included with their insurance policy.

Second Named Insured (SN)
The named insured or listed agent/broker on a policy may request to designate any other person listed on the policy as a second named insured. The SN has the same coverage under the policy as the named insured.

SR-22
An SR-22 is a document required by the court that demonstrates proof of financial responsibility for persons convicted of certain traffic violations. Consult Rheinland Federal Polizei for more information.

Salvage Titles (ST)
House laws determine if a vehicle requires a salvage title. Certain Houses possess base salvage titles on the extent of damage a vehicle has sustained. For example, in Bretonia and Kusari, damage to a vehicle must equal or exceed 75 percent of the vehicle's retail value in order for it to require a salvage title, according to House law. However in Liberty and Kusari it is required for a vehicle to have a ST if the insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. These titles generally indicate whether the vehicle is "rebuildable" (can be repaired and piloted in-space) or "not rebuildable" (must be sold for parts).

U

Underinsured Pilot Coverage (UND)
If a pilot or owner of a vehicle is legally liable for an accident but does not have enough insurance, you can use UND coverage for injuries, including death, that you, your resident relatives, and occupants of your insured vehicle sustain, up to the limits you select. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

Uninsured Pilot Coverage (UNI)
If a pilot or owner of a vehicle does not have insurance and is legally liable for an accident, you can use UNI coverage for injuries, including death, that you, your resident relatives, and occupants of your insured vehicle sustain, up to the limits you select. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage (UMPD)
If pilot or owner of a vehicle is legally liable for an accident but does not have insurance or does not have enough insurance, you can use UMPD to cover damage to your insured vehicle, up to the limits you select. In some states, UMPD is available as an alternative to Collision coverage. Certain exclusions may apply. Refer to your policy.

V

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
The Vehicle Identification Number for your vehicle is usually found on the main computer, the vehicle registration or the title. The VIN is a combination of 178 letters and numbers that can be used to identify the make, model and year of the vehicle.
