Deep Space Engineering & Architecture

The Early Days

The history of DSE is closely linked with that of Liberty itself. Formed by the merger of several smaller Manhattan construction firms in 51 A.S., DSE was awarded the seven year contract to build Baltimore Shipyard in the same year. The completion of the shipyard heralded the entry of Deep Space into the shipbuilding industry. Partnering up with Ageira Technologies, DSE diverted vast amounts of funding into their new joint venture.

Seven years after the completion of Baltimore Shipyard, DSE financed and administrated a new boron processing plant, the first settlement on Planet Houston in the Texas system.

New Frontiers

61 years on, Ageira Technologies contracted DSE to construct the Dallas Research and Manufacturing Facility, DSE had the construction completed and the facility operational within two years of signing the contract. The next 100 years saw DSE collaborate with Ageira Technologies in the development of jump gate technology, oversee the major environmental engineering of Planet Los Angeles, and finally the founding of Interspace Commerce, again in partnership with Ageira Technologies.

The primary goal of Interspace Commerce was to provide the finance needed for the governments of the four houses to begin the widespread construction of jump gates. The resulting construction contracts and the increase in trade opportunities ushered in a new era of prosperity for not just DSE, but the entire Sirius sector.

Building Trade

In 300 A.S., Ageira Technologies announced the development of trade lane technology. DSE was contracted to begin construction of these new structures throughout Liberty. The network of trade lanes and jump gates continued to expand for the next 200 years, earning massive profits for the Liberty corporations working on these projects.

In 500 A.S. disaster struck. Simply known as the "Texas Incident", a critical malfunction during the test of a new jump gate technology on the Dallas caused a massive burst of energy and radiation, rendering an entire half of the Texas system unsafe for travel.

Post-Texas

As a result of their involvement in the Dallas project, DSE was to move forward with a tarnished safety record, however the corporation continued to thrive and grow. Taking part in the clean-up effort, Deep Space Rhino freighters can often be seen working the debris field in Texas.

Undergoing several corporate restructures and purchases in the intervening years, DSE was most recently controlled by Doe Industries, a new and innovative parent company headed by a young pair of entrepreneurs.

823 and Beyond

Following a lull in activity during the first quarter of 823A.S., the board of shareholders voted to form a new company, Deep Space Engineering & Architecture (DSEA), under the Deep Space umbrella. Coinciding with the signing of the peace treaty between Liberty and Rheinland, and the resulting free-flow of trade between the Houses, this was to be an important time for the expansion of trade.

Deep Space Engineering and Architecture is headed by CEO Dean Nathaniel Andrews, and a board of executives, who report to the DSE board of shareholders. The company's goals remain the same: to drive innovation of the necessities of Sirian life, from trade lanes and jump gates to spaceships and space stations. DSEA's corporate branding has seen a return to a more traditional Libertonian style, including the return of a stylized "Eye of Providence" logo.

DSEA: more connected, more prosperous.

Operational Departments

DSEA operations are split across 5 departments, specializing in various aspects of the corporation's activities:

Research & Development

Oversees scientific, engineering and architectural developments for the company, enabling DSEA to move forward and bring progress to Sirius.

Logistics

Handles all deliveries of raw materials and finished products for DSEA, with both internally and externally procured cargo.

Engineering

Tends to all primary ship construction and architectural operations, from small vessels and simple constructions, to jump gates and space stations.

Mining

Takes care of resource acquisition, their primary operating zones being New York, Texas and Alberta.

Security

Ensures the safety of all the company's assets and employees. It is comprised of military trained personnel who may act as bodyguards or escort pilots.

Real Estate

DSEA maintains a modest interest in most areas of the DSE holdings. The corporation has interests in:

Planet Pittsburgh, NY

This is the center for Deep Space boron mining operations. Pittsburgh's population has topped 85 million in recent years, growth driven primarily by the mix of domestic and foreign migrant workers seeking employment in the boron mines.

Baltimore Shipyard, NY

Deep Space's showcase of its cutting-edge products. Baltimore Shipyard turns out the highest quality Libertonian ships, minerals or VIPs, it doesn't matter. Whatever the cargo Baltimore Shipyard has the solution.

Camrose Supply Depot, Alberta

Camrose represents the frontier of Libertonian values. Located in the remote Alberta syatem, Camrose is a supply point for the various government and corporate groups currently exploring the system. Despite extensive exploitation of the platinum resources located within the Peace River Asteroid Field the area has not been fully surveyed, and Camrose continues to provide value for money to the stakeholders that put their trust in the venture.

Toronto Station, Ontario

Primarily dedicated to the refining of ore from Planet Huron, Toronto is a low-key, but important part of the Deep Space machine. The profits produced by the station, and its suppliers on Huron, are relatively low but extremely stable, rendering Toronto a staple of the DS baseline income.

LPI Huntsville, Texas

In partnership with the LPI, Deep Space has maintained manufacturing facilities on Huntsville for centuries. This partnership has allowed the LPI to put some "idle hands" to work, whilst netting a tidy profit for the two corporations.

Diplomacy

Despite links with Deep Space's traditional partners, DSEA represents a new and unknown quantity. Business relationships need to be built and DSEA's future will highly depend upon the links it forges with other corporations, governments and groups across Sirius.

Hello
Do you plan to do actual architectural drawings/plans/sections/elevations/etc or no.
That is my first question.

Also the architect should be head of construction.
Actually no....
I guess head of construction would be like... The Zoning/By-law/council people :S *shudders*

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - Altejago - 04-29-2016

I see you copied and pasted DSE)'s faction information whilst DSE) is still present.

I have several concerns, first is using our role-play as if it were your own. Whilst I'm not against other factions using elements implemented into the game, I am against people using our role-play material as if it were their own. Especially seeing as we're still around (albeit sparsely).

Another thing I have noticed is your assertive position pertaining DSE)'s role in the game and role-playing as if your new faction can tell another of the same ID what direction the NPC faction is doing whilst being fresh on the scene. That in my opinion I feel is a form of power gaming. I've played along to humour you, as I have no qualms sharing the ID with other factions, but what do have issues with is a player power gaming and abusing years of role-play material that DSE) meticulously created.

As still the leader of DSE), and owner of that material, it would have been nice to have been approached and asked about it.

The other issues I have are inconsequential compared to the above mentioned, but do request that you create your own role-play instead of piggybacking another factions who happens to still be around.

Regards.

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - Impyness - 04-29-2016

Saying that you as an unofficial faction own certain locations is p weird imo. Might be better to state simply that you operate mainly in or on those places.

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - Lythrilux - 04-29-2016

Overuse of [spoiler]. Writeup seems good otherwise.

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - DS Engineering n Architecture - 04-30-2016

@Impyness Thanks mate we are gonna take care of that issue soon

@Lythrilux Thanks and we thought that the spoilers will make anything more accesible

@Altejago Now what you are stating here and I have the answer for you.. At the end of the Achived Data section where we have copyed and pasted your faction lore we have a small line which says that we do not belong to us("//We do not claim the above quoted facts as our own, but we do consider it as part of the faction's lore.")
However let me tell you something. Your faction is no longer able to command the Unofficial factions as there is no place where I can any mantion of oficiality of your faction and so there is no influance and the moment we you tell me that my faction will not exist due to some random reason of yours then fairwell. Untill that point have a nice day

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - nOmnomnOm - 04-30-2016

So how far in depth are you going to push your architecture since you put it in your name?

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - DS Engineering n Architecture - 04-30-2016

@nOmnomnOm That thing does not really corellate with the drawing side of things, but rather more with building and projects
That aswell Is a mark of the faction

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - DS Engineering n Architecture - 05-05-2016

We want to hear your opinion about us

RE: Deep Space Engineering and Architecture | Faction Info - Sombs - 05-05-2016

What I'm actually missing is something like a catalogue for some products you want to be known for. Lyth did that with AP-Manufacturing and I like the idea, since there are lots of things in Discovery that are present ingame but don't have a detailed background (like the robotic service units here and there - the Kishiro inofficial player faction did just do a little RP with me on that topic, since Honshu (Kishiro) offers robotic commodities)
