Map in 4.85... - Elvin - 11-24-2008 Heya, I was just wondering... Since JHs and a lot of other things is supposed to change in the next version... I guess that means even if I have mapped it, I will have to do it again? And more importantly, commodities are being completly change, and theoretically, I have docked all bases in reach with character, will I have to dock everything again to get the commodity list, or it will aoutomatically update? Sorry I know its stupid question, but you know, its 4:40 Am here already:D Cheers, Elvin Map in 4.85... - Orin - 11-24-2008 I think that information is stored clientside, so you should still have your nav map updated. Of course, new systems and bases would just be missing as they should be. (If this is incorrect, apologies, but I'm fairly sure.) (Now I mean moved not closed... well if there are any which will be moved) And I hope youre right about that above, Idea of redocking everything to get new lists dont sounds like fun to me. (Now I mean moved not closed... well if there are any which will be moved)Depends on how it works/stores the information. I think (but am not sure) that the game merely records whether you have visited a base or seen a jumphole or other object. If it works like that, then you'll still retain the information on the jumphole's location, it will merely move around on your navmap. Map in 4.85... - Orin - 11-24-2008 That's what I was thinking, Fist. If your ship changes, it doesn't disappear. So why would a JH, etc.? Well, seeing as we're both just guessing, a real dev's answer would be nice. xD Map in 4.85... - AdamantineFist - 11-24-2008 ' Wrote:That's what I was thinking, Fist. If your ship changes, it doesn't disappear. So why would a JH, etc.?Precisely. The program does not transfer all the information on your ship into your player file. It merely says, "You have this ship," and then the clientside application checks for the ship information. Same thing should work for the navmap. Anything else would really just be sloppy programming. Map in 4.85... - Elvin - 11-24-2008 I am wondering, you guys guessing.... Nice party we are.:DBut I though (and hoped) the same you say, just wanted to make sure... But we all ...are...Unsure as it seems:D Map in 4.85... - 13CentKiller - 11-24-2008 I pretty sure any changes made to a system in a new mod wipes all information related to that system. I could be wrong. But that is my experience.:) Map in 4.85... - Elvin - 11-24-2008 ' Wrote:I pretty sure any changes made to a system in a new mod wipes all information related to that system. Hey you there. Dont destroy our hopes. :D Map in 4.85... - kindred - 11-24-2008 13Centkiller is correct, if any changes are made to the system all info about that system is lost from your char's nav map. |
