Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Stoner_Steve - 05-27-2016 Seriously, every time I try to RP with them in their area some core indy comes trololol'ing along in a battleship and chases them off, at least when they were in their own system off the beaten path it wasn't as much of an issue. Maybe some pulse turrets weapons platforms around the inner ice-field, at least give them some place that can counter a battleship, idk, but the current system layout is making it far more difficult than necessary to RP with PRIME| RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Lythrilux - 05-27-2016 There's not really a correlation between Core indies and AI needing their own system. That said though I do think it's a real shame they don't have their own system anymore. I feel like they lost the only thing that made them unique, interesting and mysterious in the Edge Worlds. Before Kappa was a complete 100% alien system. Now it's just another generic "oh yeah this system has aliens but mostly there's civilian installations here". Edge Worlds should still be able to captive the feeling of being on the frontier - the edge - and making the Omicrons more generic doesn't really help that. Although on the subject of the Core indies the fault lies in them having nothing to do but shoot other factions. That's for a different discussion though. RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - HassLHoFF™ - 05-27-2016 While I was leading PRIME in fact this thing was the mainreason @Teerin has stopped working with me, because I drastically denied this suggestion. RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Epo - 05-27-2016 Also, don't get me wrong - I like the new patch and everything connected with it - but you've (devs) removed some interesting corners, which were unique even in vanila freelancer, for example I mean Omicron-90 (it used to be a memorable place to hunt for nomad remains - everyone who played on a vanila server remembers it) and Omicron Kappa (system unique both in its look, Nomad activity and both AI and monkeys). Also I'm not sure if I like the current 'relocation' of things in Omicron Minor - like if anyone asked me, I'd prefer to either scale down the whole system and use it as a connection between added stuff or just removed vanila (or just yet earlier) naming of places - exactly Toledo. Not to mention that the jump gate has been moved to way different location. Well, I'm not really sure if this change was for worse, but... you know it really hurts me to lose all this vanila-releated stuff, which everyone remembers either from singleplayer or his/her early days in Freelancer. Yet again, don't get me wrong - I like the new omicron update - especially Major with its hidden toys, but still I've lost so much what remindered my early days in Freelancer. I'm all for restoring the old 'Kappa', somewhere also known as Unknown Gamma RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Lythrilux - 05-27-2016 (05-27-2016, 09:23 PM)Epo Wrote: Also I'm not sure if I like the current 'relocation' of things in Omicron Minor The iconic ship graveyard is gone :/ RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Epo - 05-27-2016 (05-27-2016, 09:28 PM)Lythrilux Wrote:(05-27-2016, 09:23 PM)Epo Wrote: Also I'm not sure if I like the current 'relocation' of things in Omicron Minor Yep, also this RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Jack_Henderson - 05-27-2016 We need less systems that have only bases of 1 ID. RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Lythrilux - 05-27-2016 Kappa was special. Personally I see nothing wrong with the concept of 'home' systems though. RE: Give the A.I. their own system (back) - Swallow - 05-27-2016 I like new Kappa more than 74 and old Kappa all together.
