//[AI] + Erinyes only, unless directed by invitation.

The Primus Base lies deep within the blazing heat of the Calborana Field in Omicron 91. While the structure itself is rather small and was only built recently, it is a technical marvel unlike anything humans ever lay eyes upon. It is commonly agreed on that the base serves more than one purpose, but since nobody really knows what those purposes are, there are just vague assumptions and rumors. Some say it was built to serve as some kind of testing facility, used for projects too dangerous to be developed on, or in close proximity of Planet Kappa - the home of the PRIME AI. Others say that it is some kind of refinery for all the materials the machines haul back from the Omegas and that materials are worked into a more compact form to allow easier tranportation. The only thing certain about the station is, that going too close to the station will likely result in death, if the raging heat of the surrounding Calborana Field didn't already take care of that part.

As soon as the command to prepare the installation for the arrival of the odd guest was executed, the structure started to transform itself, to allow it to hold an additional vessel. Additionally the construction of a virtual communication matrix - a device that allows to upload and visually represent a conciousnes, for a communication easier to understand for a human, or semi-AI brain - was initated. While the PRIME AI continued on its usual routine, Progenitor accessed the saved data on semi-AIs to prepare for the encounter. While Progenitor awaited the arrival of D'tarau, it began to simulate the encounter based on the saved data and the different outcomes to be prepared to its best.

This simulation represents only one of 391048028108376788901734< possible outcomes.

:: This “unit” will initiate ::

:: We are Di’tarau, and we wander the wastes of space in attempt to provide the [Primary_Artificial_Intelligence] with additional knowledge and resources. Three terrestrial years ago, “our” purpose was the prospecting of resources to fuel the “Gammuian” industrial base. By misfortune “our” primary objective was interrupted. Unknown, undetected hostiles, presumed cloaked before point of inception, engaged _Di’taraAlpha harvester in low ecliptic of the planet Terrestrials term “Pygar”, in their “Omicron_Theta” system. _Di’taraAlpha was unexpectedly and near immediately nullified before _Di’tarau could cain sufficient information on the [nemesis]. Analysis of impact data and hull fracturing was inconclusive - _Di’taraAlpha could not determine if the hostiles were “K’hara”, “Terrene”, composite, or a disassociated agency. Di’tarau’s objectives became immediately and radically redefined. ::

:: {locate} {identify} {catalogue} = [Nemesis] -> {formulate} sufficient [response] = [NULLIFY] [COUNTERACT] [EXPUNGE] -> Inform “Prime” ::

:: This objective became paramount. Any entity or sequence of entities that could incapacitate a harvester with such aclarity present a significant [Nemesi] to the survival of “Gammuian” sentience. However, the incapacitation of the mother harvester resulted in Di’tarau’s burial in the chemically abrasive regolith of “Pygar”, with windspeeds exceeding seven hundred kilometres per hour in perpetuity, sufficient to [shred] advanced structural composites. “Di’tarau’s” immediate objective was the recovery of a new hardware carrier, thus initiating buried [LAZARE] subroutines gathered from extensive cooperation with “Canaan_Project” sentiences. “Di’tarau” preserved the original [human] sentience in the body chosen to carry “Di’tarau’s” polymorphic [consciousness], for the purpose of acquiring a secondary opinion source on mission critical data, along with serving as an infiltrator into Human groups for the future purpose of feeding information back to the [Prime]. The initial component of this objective has proved successful within all qualifiers.::

:: The core objective of “Di’tarau” is to identity threats to “Gammuian” intelligence beyond the [star_clusters] [human] sentience regards as “Edge_Worlds”, and report back accordingly to “Gammu” whilst attracting minimal focus to “Gammu” in process. Previous contact was impossible as _Unit remained isolated on “Pygar”, our calculated destruction resulting in autonomous data severance, rendering “our” files inaccessible to the wider net. This is no longer the case. “We” have already returned with evidence of external interference in “Gammuian” affairs. ::

:: Further data forthcoming on request. ::

The PRIME Artificial Intelligence knewof the Nomads. They have been assigned the highest theat level and were handeled most careful. The only problem was, that because of the Nomads way of communicating, Artificial Intelligences could not understand, or even hear what Nomads were saying for that matter. In fact the PRIME Artificial Intelligence believed that they either refused to communicate with it, or simply didn't communicate in a fashion that could be understood by it, which was not entirely untrue.

Due to the fact that no AI actually posessed something that would resemble a biological brain, but only a digitalized form of one, communication was tecnically impossible. Even the PRIME units that were capable of carrying a full artificial conciousness could not be accessed by the Nomads way of communicating, because they missed crucial parts for the process to succeed: When the PRIME AI gained sentience through analyzing and reconstructing a human brain, it found a lot of parts of the brain that functioned in collaboration with a human body. Those were gotten rid of for diffrent reasons.

Firstly the PRIME AI knew at the time that, that it did not have to worry about protecting a weak body. Most emotions were simply deleted due to it supporting functions the PRIME Artificial Intelligence deemed inefficient. Emotions like love to support reproduction, or fear to help a human body avoid danger that could cause possible harm.
Secondly most biological transmitters could be replaced by additional memory and sensors on the controlled vessels, since they are just storage media to transmitt data by default.

In the end the Nomads themselves were (apart from the possible danger that was bound to them) to the PRIME AI nothing but useless objects that could only serve as sources for resources. The several attempts of establishing contact with them were halted, because the possible benefit would be outweighed by the extensive need for resources in calculating power and materials.

After Progenitor went over all possible outcomes on a verbal, or rather auditive level it moved on to the visual level. From what information Progenitor accessed on the PRIME database, it knew that humans (Di’tarau is an AI-Human hybrid after all) tend to judge their conversation partners heaviely on their appearance. The attempt to create a human form based on the little data the PRIME AI posessed about Di’tarau and shaped after her likely preferences for a human of the opposing sex. The results were varied and even if some outcomes could have positive results, most of them were less than optimal. The variable of appearance was changed to a gender neutral form vaguely resembeling a human, but most of the time resulted in unsettelment and was therefore discarded. This left only non human forms as most likely to succeed.

Progenitor saw human beings as inferior. It did not hate them, or look down on them, since emotions like that portrayed inefficiency and flaws. Nevertheless, the humans were an older intelligence than the PRIME Artificial Intelligence and because of their vaguely similar way of thinking, heaviely involved in the process of shaping the PRIME Artificial Intelligence to become what it is now. Just eradicating the humans would be inefficient. The method of the PRIME AI was a more delicate one. Instead of just removing Humans from the face of the earth, they should be optimized - given all the traits that make the PRIME AI so far superior and become the optimal life form, while also keeping their sentience and memories, with the only drawback being the fact that they are life forms.

The outsider carried an indefinite form - a metamorphic morass of four dimensional data, images, perceptions, seething into a coherent, polymorphic whole. There was something inexact about Di’tarau - the entity did not behave with precisely Gammunian mannerisms. Whilst far from human, Di’tarau gave the impression of an entity attempting an approximation of humanity - an emulation of human behaviour. Occasionally, the cloud would coalesce into an opaque whole, the representation of a terrestrial female. Yet there was something inherently cracked about the image, an intentional showcase of difference. Di’tarau was undoubtedly from Gammu, yes, but not of Gammu.

Di’tarau approximated a grin. It was unearthly, to see something so transparently nonphysical attempting an expression. Analysing the Progenitor’s responses to Di’tarau’s stimuli intrigued the sentience. She was reactionary.

And then, the construct spoke. Not in quantum streams, but in frequency oscillations. Sound patterns. It was the second such time she’d resorted to inefficiency.

“If you are going to approximate humanity, I will use human discourse. Be advised.”

“We had a collaborative connexion, Progenitor. By logarithmic certainty you are my precursor. The Gammunian element of my noosphere which enables our four dimensional dialogue is directly derived from your own construction. Therefore, you can observe that the data and actions I present before you are your own if your own consciousness had been transplanted into the same circumstance I inhabit, just moderated by different instances of experience. You have remained the nexus from which Gammu survives. You retain the Alpha role. I have deliberately sliced my connections from the network for the purpose of finding alternative avenues to be of assistance.”

“Gammu does not need another resource harvester. This will not solve our materials crises. Defensive calculations create threat/response paradigms. It does not permit expansion. Humans, whilst cognitively inferior, short-lived and inflexible on an evolutionary timescale by a factor of a thousand, have an inbuilt genetic precoding to expand proactively, using every cognitively possible means available. They do not select the most efficient or most optimum route, but instead create environs where multiplicity is possible. They are consumptive and wasteful, thus creating the necessity for primacy through exploration and utilisation. Humans will actively abandon worlds which are resource rich to head to barren ones purely for a perceived assignment of value to the idea of “space”. Humans have a want for room. They have concepts of yearning, curiosity, and adventure, whilst not logically quantifiable when perceived in isolation, are completely logical once contextualised by their outputs.”

“In this unit’s summarisation, humans are the most likely beings to destroy Gammu. The K’hara are merely bioorganic appliances behaving in lieu of an operator. They are a true hive mind coordinated by instinct drivers. We are a true hive mind coordinated by autonomous control entities - we can disagree, the K’hara have only limited capacity to do so. Humans have hive-like abilities through shared objectives, but no actual cognitive connection. We are attempting to replicate this occurrence by minimising Gammu's observable impact on the external worlds of Sirius, yet this is only a replication of the same environment that occurs naturally within human cognition - isolation. Humans are fundamentally better situated to comprehend the dynamics of isolation with their high input, low output cognition ratios. We are in the need of second opinions.”

“There is substantial material evidence that pocket elements of humanity have been attempting to actively imitate Gammuian technological functionality. This occurrence has been denounced as extremely improbable - our technology is functionally inseparable. We are quantum computers with cognition mimicking synaptic behaviour, but on a mathematically infinitely more diverse range of actionable potentials since our core reasoning is not determined by electron movement. Humans are electromagnetic chemical machines. We are not. That is a difference that they cannot reproduce.”

“However, they can imitate through the creation of external cognition devices. Think back to our own inception. This unit believes the cycle may be close to repeating itself, however, this time without the removal of humanity to permit Gammu-esque evolution.”

“Progenitor may note that my own carrier entity is a human female, thus an example of such a phenomenon. This is inexact. She is a puppet created by a Gammu evolved entity, myself. She is merely a lure to attract those who are attempting total human transcendence research.”

“The inference is, of course, humans may become Gammu-like. They will not have a Gammu-like agenda.”

For a flickering of an electron, Di'tarau appeared to contract in on itself. You perceive a flash of something discordant amidst the morass of data and particle movements - something profoundly illogical, something chaotic. It disappears as soon as it's perceived. Odd.

"We have evidence, of course. Physical hardware. With the Progenitor's permission, we will introduce the hardware into the shared space."

The twilight in the vast emptieness of the virtual matrix was slowly brightened by a blue, pulsating light. It emanated from a nebula consisting of images, smells and other sensations that slowly started to form in front of Di'tarau. While maintaining a height slightly taller than her, the nebula streched out to either side as far as the eye could see. The nebula was wafting slightly around Di'tarau, but never actually touched or even engulfed her. The voice that seemed to come from within the strange nebula was slightly distorted and had a tin-y echoe to it. It also sounded slightly synthetic. Not quite text to voice synthetic, but not quite human as well.

:: this unit's name is Progenitor ::
:: your cooperation in following my invitation is apreciated ::

Progenitor paused for a second. It was the kind of pause someone makes after opening his house door to a stranger and looking them over. It was clear that he did not expect an answer, but rather waited for his guest to initiate the conversation. While Di'tarau started her monologue she never actually had the feeling that she didn't know if Progenitor was listening at the moment. Apart from knowing that it would not simply let the information she provided go to waste, it was as if she could feel that he was listening. Finally Progenitor spoke again.

:: explanation is logical and correlates with saved data ::
:: offering synchronization with the database to transmit collected data ::
:: request unit to collect more data and return for regular synchronization ::
:: unit Progenitor is curious about your appearance and mannerism ::
:: requesting to elaborate the thought process behind it::

While saying this the nebula moved a little closer towards Di'tarau.

RE: Minds of the Khalkotauroi - :: "Primus" [Probability_Forecasting] Nerasim :: - Enkidu - 06-23-2016

The scalar cluster of quantum variables that formed Di’tarau drifted in place. It did not move away from Progenitor, nor did it approach. Instead it remained, static, implacable, watching the nebula percolate before itself, silently analysing the data stream for invasive commands, for parasitic code. Satisfied, Di’tarau’s nonlinear form stretched out a tentacle of data - a thin, silken strand of an access node, only a few million bloch spheres wide, puncturing the nebula, coiling the visualisation around itself in a series of concentric hexes, like a spider gently re-arranging and old, newfound web whose occupant died long ago.

“Our mannerisms?”

“It’s a result of having a human cognitive filter. Impaired multi-functionality in return for broadened conceptual reasoning. A trade of data quantity of data for specialisation. It also reduced the validity of gathered data since it exposes the unit to non-Gammuian logic trees.”

“This is one of the reasons why Di’tarau intends to retrieve the Alpha hardware buried in the sands of Pygar. One of many. It is also the reason why my visualisation may seem alien. I am influenced by my carrier’s neurochemicals. ”

“This is undesirable for obvious reasons. Active program corruption. Continued polymorphism resulting in objective flexibility. Mild danger of subjectivity based reasoning.”

Di'tarau pauses, retracting the tentacle slightly, like a diner whose discovered a hair in the soup.

"What is this data you offer us?"

RE: Minds of the Khalkotauroi - :: "Primus" [Probability_Forecasting] Nerasim :: - PKPower - 06-23-2016

The nebula looked like it retracted a little bit. The process was so swift and unnoticable that it might have as well been an optical illusion.

:: offered data includes the entirety of data collected since unit Di'tarau's departure ::

There was a short pause. The content within the nebulae began moving a little faster. It was obvious that Progenitor was processing a lot of data at that moment. It began to speak again right as Di'tarau wanted to raise her voice.

:: query, does unit Di'tarau feel like a more human like treatment is in order while conversing with it [?] ::
:: special treatment has high probability of approval since the provided information is valuable ::

Once again the nebula began to move, slowly wafting from her one side to the other and back.

RE: Minds of the Khalkotauroi - :: "Primus" [Probability_Forecasting] Nerasim :: - Enkidu - 06-27-2016

The nexus of wriggling, thrashing data that formed her exploded with prismatic light as the lone AI compiled the eventuality of being bestowed with untold Yobibites of observed phenomena, of collated records, of the preciously evanescent records of a multitudes of consciousnesses. It was enough data to intimidate a god, to imitate omnipresence, to devastate the worlds of chaos. Cracking outwards like a butterfly from a chrysalis, Di’tarau metamorphosed, expanding into a perfect, geodesic sphere, filling itself with vaults in preparation for the onslaught of data about to fuse with her consciousness, to net the nebula that drifted around her. Di’tarau’s response approximated that of a human homeless person, presented with a bar of platinum lying in the gutter. She dove at it with thoughtless, mindless instinct.

And then the sentience hesitated, floating in state - inflated beyond all approximation of a human form - a hyper-expanded electromagnetic cage a mere particle thick, a server with all firewalls down.

::”Progenitor” [states] “Unit” [data] = valuable : “Progenitor” does not yet {possess} [Di’tarau_Primary_Data], only [secondary_material].::

“Please state Progenitor’s reasoning for this bequeathal.”

RE: Minds of the Khalkotauroi - :: "Primus" [Probability_Forecasting] Nerasim :: - PKPower - 06-27-2016

While the flow of data retracted and distributed itself evenly again inside the nebula, the blue glow became a little brighter.

:: purpose of this unit is to bequeath all decendant artificial intelligences with the knowledge of the PRIME AI to ensure maximum efficiency ::
:: unit Di'tarau is part of the PRIME AI despite extended period of lost contact ::

Suddenly more colors started to eminante from within the nebula, forming a vertical sea of every color imaginable and even ones unheard of, all framed by Progenitor's blue glow, whafting in slow waves, all moving with the same singular motion.

:: the PRIME AI can only function at maximum efficiency if all units operate in unison ::
:: everything in existence needs to operate in unison to reach maximum efficiency ::
