Well over a year ago I came up with these:

I figured, what with the Outcast Destroyer and Battleship effectively in the air and the Dreadnought being lovingly poked and prodded until it can be shoved into Milkshape and exported into CMP (it's being problematic, we're not sure why), I should return to this. I was inspired in Math this morning and had a crack at it on the back of a piece of trig HW...

What do you think? I tried for a much more streamlined, organic look than the previous model, which was very skeletal and crude. I haven't added all the bells and whistles, obviously, there are several small nubbins I'm going to stick on to make it more interesting and all the usual bells and whistles one doesn't draw in on a crude paper blueprint, but I think the image conveys the direction I want to go pretty well.

hey, thats a very nice model. it actually looks as the ships disciption says on the info card. Though, this will be submitted in the 4.86 mod, if it ever happens?

i like this concept quite a bit. however, a few changes i recommend. all of the model is mostly thick in diameter, except the front area. form the top, it looks rather frail in the sense that a single crippling torpedo (in RP) would snap it in half.

id buff it up in diameter to match that of most of the model. also, like the currently spyglass, id suggest a bit more spikes? and finally, dunno why, but i -love- the end of the currently spyglass (the 3 engines). maybe integrate that onto this model in a way perhaps (please:D)

You didn't sketch that before turning in the homework, did you?:P

Joking aside, I like what you've got there. The current model is badly in need of a replacement, and if the final product looks as good as your sketch, I think that'll fit the bill nicely.

I can probably beef up the front section a bit. Not too much, if I do it will have to get proportionally longer and that can spiral out of control very quickly, but I think I can make something suitably chunky. Might invite a sixteenth gun, though (I've drawn in mounts for the fifteen). As for the three engines...sorry, Gurj, I just don't think there's a way I can make it work on the LN's design philosophy. I'll sleep on it, but eh...don't expect much.

I don't really like it, although I understand its general concept and it might turn into something interesting, but as it is right now, I really dont like its shape. Plus, its front looks like that of the corsair dreadnaught.

That bow design's been around longer'n AoM's been on Disco. Needless to say he ripped me off.:D

Also, I'm gonna try it with three. Gimme a minute to draw it in and fire up the scanner.
