No rest for the Wicked - Skorak - 09-23-2016
Planet Malta, Martelli estates
Amid lush plains of orange was a small spaceport, it's grey seemlessly transitioning into the rough rock of the mountain it was built into. Spread around it like tiny pebbles was a small town with several bigger villas in the center. On it's outskirts there was vehicles transporting cardamine from the fields in and out. Over all this the little shuttle was soaring through the air to land on the spaceport.
The space port itself was rather busy for it's size, with freighters moving in and out and and fighters being on alert. Two of which were of the heaviest kind the Maltese produced and they were escorting the freighter on orders of the President. Their descend was slow and the systems of the spaceport well maintained, making landing comfortable and soft. On the ground, parked close to the landing pad, was an armored vehicle and guards already waiting for their guest.
It was six armed men, waiting in two rows and the one on the back opened the doors of the vehicle, waiting for their guest to enter the vehicle. Inside there was Cristina Martelli patiently waiting. Her legs crossed and a calm expression on her face. Her attire was rather informal, wearing one of her usual dark but casual clothes she was used to from long past days.

Loyola have already left her Sabre and was heading to Cristina's vehicle. Despite the fact that everything looked good from the side, it wasn't one of a good day for Loyola. Losing the position of power so rapidly, position that she gained with the application of huge effort for sure didn't please her. It wasn't a trategy of losing everything, that she experienced before. She still have enough of recources and influenece to play her game, but the whole situation felt rather shamefully.

She did not take any guards and always have seen them as some sort of formality and a matter of prestige. Loyola found it hard to believe into the possability of them preventing some serious assassination attempt or a terrorist act. So, she passed them and entered into the vehicle's open door. She smiled and sat down.
" Hello, Cristina. " Loyola said intentionally informal, she wanted to avoid formalities that she hated at least here. Even although she wasn't sure about Cristina's reaction, she didn't believe in any possible serious consequences.

The Guard that had opened the door closed it behind them. Cristina gave Enma a little smile after her greeting and then shortly replied: "Hello, Enma."
Inside, the car wasn't much more luxurious than just having more comfortable seats than the average military vehicle. The vehicle looked rheinland made and rather new as it was one of those that Cristina had recently acquired. Shortly after the vehicle was moving, escorted by two similar ones. Cristina disliked all the additional security they demanded her to use and at times she just had to sneak out. She knew that Malta needed her to continue but this wasn't what she used to do and it took her time to adjust to all the responsibility.
"Thank you for coming. I hope the extra security doesn't bother you." Cristina said with an apologetic smile. She leaned back a little but kept watching Enma carefully.
"The trip isn't long. I'd like to talk about the ceremony when we arrive. Do you have any questions so far? A lot happened and I didn't see you in some time."

Loyola sighed and looked away. " Your security personnel? Well, for sure they are not causing any problems to me, but I fairly doubt that they are able to prevent something serious. On the other hand I understand that person in your position simply cannot avoid using them. As I see, it's a matter of prestige and status. Sadly you cannot do politics without the kitsch. " Enma paused and looked on the one of the vehicle escorting them and made a little pause.
" It's not a problem of personally you or even specific of the Maltese politics, this is what you will see in every corner of Sirius. This is sad and disappointing, because it seems like many people are going for the politics to get an escort like this. And they also want to be focused by cameras one they arrive somewhere with official visit. " She sighed again, she wasn't sure if this is something that Cristina would like to discuss.
" No, I have no question about the ceremony and I hope we will have enough time to discuss the recent events. And I was a little bit away from business, personal reasons, until I've received the message about my resignation. Then, as you understand, I had no choice, but not to return back as soon as possible. "

"I certainly didn't do this to get the guards. Actually it was your fault that I got into this whole situation in the first place." She said and smirked lightly, knowing that without Enma she would probably still be in Kusari.
She stretched her neck slowly and sighed. "But I guess the time for memories is later. When we arrive it will be all about the ceremony. What matters did you want to talk about? I'd imagine you don't get all the information anymore." She said and there was a hint of regret in her calm voice as the council had to now run without Enma.
"I hope you know that I didn't want any of this to happen how it happened." She then said seriously. Enma didn't deserve such treatment for everything she did to make this Nation to what it was now. Growing to become more and to wake up.
"If there is anything I can do to help you, just tell me."

Loyola smiled in a some strange way. " Oh, don't worry, I know right who to blame for this. I know that you don't have anything to do with this. I am not sure what to do with the whole situation, but we'll see what I can do about it. You don't think that I will left everything as is. " She took a calm look at Cristina and sighed.
" We have a lot of the things to discuss, because we solved only a low number of issues. Malta is facing way more issues that it ever had and I fairly can't see them solved anytime soon." She looked in the window, taking a moment to think about something.
Then she looked and Cristina again, it looks like she have formed phrases now. " How you can help? If you really want to help, there is a lot of things. First of all, my resignation will make me more vulnerable for out enemies. It is a matter of personal security and you know how many people on Malta and even more outsiders want to 'deal' with me. "
" We have a lot of the things to discuss, because we solved only a low number of issues. Malta is facing way more issues that it ever had and I fairly can't see them solved anytime soon." She looked in the window, taking a moment to think about something.
Then she looked and Cristina again, it looks like she have formed phrases now. " How you can help? If you really want to help, there is a lot of things. "Lots of problems to discuss?" She asked, remembering having promised to not bother her with Council business. "Well if you want to discuss those then I am rather certain that we will find the time for them. Anything in particular?" Cristina had mostly expect a calm drive and not that Enma would jump on the topic immediately. Was everyone around her only business now that she was in this position? It made her miss the sisterhood so soon again.
She thought about Enma's worry about security then. "Is it just yourself you are worried about? I assure you to be treated as is suitable to your status as an- hm- Advisor to the Council. That is a suitable title wouldn't you think so?" She then asked with a light smirk. No one would get away with threatening her and Enma deserved as much protection for the things she did.
Meanwhile the little military convoy was moving down the road towards the little town. The vehicles were well maintained and thus calmly made their way without anything to stop them.

Loyola was trying to remind something for a moment. " Well, I left some unpaid bills, back then we only established the Council and I was preparing for revolutionary sort of action. " She smiled widely, since she still owns part of this arsenal.
Enma looked and at window and their convoy movement, while kept talking. " There are some other things as CID reorganization and the project of Arclight modernization, but this is something that we should discuss in a proper environment. " Loyola have noticed that they are closing. " Oh, we are almost there, that was quick. " She did not really want to get out anytime soon, but now she was limited with ceremony timetable and protocols.

"Unpaid bills? Send me what you have on that later and I will make sure that it will be taken care off. Within reason." She assured though put emphasis on her last point. "Whatever you planned for can certainly also be of use still. As you see with this-" And she raised her hands to show that she meant the armored vehicle they were utilising. "There is still much use for them. Though I was never one very fond of these."

She said and despite her words meaning she wasn't making fun of her or intended to sound sarcastic in any way.
"Well but for now let me invite you to a cup of tea and we can talk in a more acceptable location." She said as the vehicle passed the last houses before the gate that would lead up to her estate. In front of it the three vehicles held and a guard came down from the house and opened the door for both women to leave.
The building wasn't small but it wasn't having a representable size as the goverment buildings in the capital either. It was showing off wealth without making it too excessive. What was showing of Cristina's status more was the now patrolling guards around the property and two at the door. Right next to them was a kusarian waiting for the guests to come up the short way.
"Let's go."
She quickly checked their position as well then and continued soon after. "If you want we can certainly discuss them later. Loyola for sure knew how this house was looking, knew basing on a lot of photo and video materials. This was not the most interesting material on Martelli available in CID database, but Loyola could not miss a chance to look at it before paying a visit.

Enma and Christina walked towards the house enterance, " Will you mind if some person will join us later on? I've found someone who is able to administrate CID instead of Rosa. I want you to take a look on this person and probably lobby her candidature in council. I know that I've recommended Rosa as well, and we all know how it ended. But I'm learning on my mistakes. "
