Nomads | Apahanta Database - Sombs - 09-26-2016
Welcome back, Ezrael. Apahanta Data Storage Integrity is at 100%. Select a folder to continue.
E-V: apahanta, reset access configurations
E-V: the only person to access this database should be me
Affirmative, Captain. You are now the only person granted access to the database. Finn McCool's access has been revoked. Anything else I can do for you, Captain?
E-V: yes
E-V: are there any weaknesses in the security grid of the apahanta?
E-V: i don't want any information to be leaked
Please wait. I will create a standalone access simulation. This task could take some time to be finished. Please be patient...
Task completed.
Remote access to the database failed in 52.672 of 52.672 different attempts.
Manual access to the database is possible in 13 of 24.986.729 different attempts.
E-V: what are the conditions to access the database without granted permission?
Listing conditions...
- Full system failure is necessary. This requires a very strong EMP detonation to even set the auxiliary and emergency systems offline.
- Manual access is necessary.
- Weakspot location is the datacenter on De-
E-V: i know where the datacenter is
E-V: suggestions on how to get rid of those security issues?
Trustworthy personnel guarding the datacenter in case of dangerous individuals boarding the ship. In case of a full system failure, the interior defensive grid will not be able to defend the datacenter.
Note: In case of a full system failure, life support systems and artificial gravity will be offline. Trustworthy personnel should be equiped with environmental suits. In case of a full system failure, special equipment will be necessary to alter the physical database manually. Estimated time to do so for humans with optimized efficiency: Three hours, twelve minutes, fourty seconds. Estimated time to do so for a robot with optimized efficiency: Thirty minutes, thirteen seconds. Do you want me to be more precise?
E-V: no, thank you, apahanta
E-V: what about nanites?
The nomad components of the ship are very likely to destroy nanites. The datacenter is protected by three different layers of security systems based on APM technology:
- Human technology (Core, Lane Hackers, Zoners, Junkers)
- Nomad technology (Part of APM technology)
- Gammu technology (Part of APM technology)
While the Gammuian grid would be very vulnerable to calculated nanite invasions, the nomad component will prevail against all types of known nanite technology.
Suggestion: Captain, there will always be new technology. If possible, update the security grid and technology whenever it is possible.
E-V: i see
E-V: thank you, apahanta
E-V: how many consoles can be used by me to access the databse right now?
Only this console here in your room and the main interface console in the datacenter. Do you want to add or remove consoles?
E-V: no, thank you
E-V: add file valery.apa to the database and then log me out
E-V: continue with security checks and try to relax, good ship
Task completed. Logout successful. Have a nice day, Captain!

Nomad Database
Nomad Installations And Systems
DATA CORRUPTED - NOT ACCESSIBLE
NAME: Chester
AREA: Bretonia
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
CONNECTIONS: Dublin-Jump Hole, Newcastle-Jump Hole
DESCRIPTION: Found this system when we mapped Dublin for Jump Holes. Chester is somewhere in the Bretonian region, and Bretonia lost some things here. There is a so called Nomad Lair in this system, yet it seems dead or at least abandoned. The Apahanta got plenty of time to study the installation. When we were about to depart, a Commune pilot appeared. He followed us to Dublin, where a pirate and two Mollys intercepted us at the Jump Hole. We paid the pirate, talked to the Mollys and the Commune pilot turned back to Chester, seeing he was outmatched in this situation.
The so called Lair is encircled by an asteroid belt, which itself contains multiple debris of Bretonian installations. I guess they wanted to study this place as well and got overrun by the defenders of this place. Lesser nomads are protecting the Lair, however they don't risk to endanger the Lair itself by shooting targets in close range to it. The Lair's defense system seemed offline. No shields. One of my pilots got unluckily attacked by a nomad, they had a hole in their Osprey. Right before that, the Osprey moved through a gooey membrane of this installation, covering the ship in this slimey substance. The hole allowed that substance to reach the interior of the ship, covering the pilot in it. Yet, the pilot didn't die and wasn't harmed. Usually, from what I know from the Core, the nomad bacteria kills humans within 24 hours. Since our pilot didn't die, I guess the bacteria within that substance was dead. However, the pilot had to stay in a decontamination chamber for a while, just to be sure.
The Chester-system is a good shortcut to switch between Dublin and Newcastle without entering New London.
NAME: Newcastle
AREA: Bretonia
DANGER LEVEL: Low
CONNECTIONS: Chester-Jump Hole, Dundee-Jump Hole, Tau-31-Jump Hole, Roussillon-Jump Hole, Drake-Jump Hole, Inverness-Jump Hole, Manchester-Jump Hole, Gate to New London
DESCRIPTION: Newcastle is one of the systems frequently attacked by Gallia, for whatever reason. It's known for having a ridiculous amount of jump holes to other systems, so we took the opportunity to map it.
We encountered a little nomad here, a very young one, designation 'Sarah'. I still wonder how the target computer does that. Anyway, the nomad lead us to a place within the Barrier Nebula, and we found the Sunderland Research Station and this nomad installation. People call installation like these 'nomad city'. This city however is said to be under human control, and I guess the fact the installation, which has lots of defense satellites encircling it, is not defending itself and the presence of a Bretonian research station that close to the enshielded installation are proof enough. On the other hand, the presence of a young nomad like Sarah shows the nomads have still a connection to this place, as I don't believe it was coincidence to meet this little entity there.
There is a Bretonian Battleship guarding the installation. However, we made sure they wouldn't notice our presence.
We also found a debris field and an amount of unknown, hostile weapon platforms guarding it within the nebula. No information on this available. The weapon platform are of human technology, but with the knowledge of the nomads using human technology as well, that doesn't have to mean anything.
NAME: Drake
AREA: Bretonian Border
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
CONNECTIONS: Newcastle-Jump Hole, Alien Gate to Coronado
DESCRIPTION: The Drake system doesn't offer very much to inspect, really. No greater nomad installation, however, there are still a few thing worth mentioning about Drake.
As far as I know, Drake was former called Tau-117. When we mapped it, in a quickly manner, we found the Alien Gate back to Coronado guarded by weapon platforms and a Liberty Assault Battlecruiser, the LNS Tennessee, firing at us right after leaving the gate area. The Tennessee seems to be stationed there. It's very likely this ship is infected.
The ring and the asteroid belt around the sun affect the long range sensors, so one has to rely to optical sensors to find the smaller installations here. There is a second alien gate in this system, however, it didn't seem like it worked, and it was heavily fortified and blockaded by weapon plattforms. We didn't get the opportunity to scan it for too long.
A young nomad appeared from the center of the system, coming closer to us curiously, but we were already heading back to Coronado. No time for the little one. Maybe it's worth giving Drake another shot, see if there is more. It's way too heavily defended for containing just... nothing worthy. We saw the Bottrop Depot there. Given it's location and everything else in this system, I guess this installation is run by infected. According to more than just rumors, Auxesia and the Order are showing more and more interest in Coronado, placing their assets there. One of my pilots had an encounter with an Order Osiris. We also talked to an Order Captain in Inverness about that ship. It seems that Order ship, the Amenhotep, was or is leading the Order operations in Coronado and the area around. Later that day we also found another Order ship in Inverness, a stationary one in the nebula containing the Jump Hole to Cortez.
NAME: Omega-55
AREA: Omegas
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
CONNECTIONS: Omicron Gamma-Jump Hole, Omega-41-Jump Hole, Dresden-Jump Hole, Omega-11-Jump Hole
DESCRIPTION: I know Omega-55 since when I joined the Core. The system is contested by Core, SCRA, Wild and Red Hessians. The Junkers have a depot there. Very helpful people doing a heroic job out there. There is a identified Wild installation in this system, way above the sun. Fichtelgebirge Station. There are also the Kamchatka Station of the SCRA and the Dagger Outpost of the Core there. Lesser Wild units patrol this system, attacking ANYTHING without a warning. Be careful here.
NAME: Kansas
AREA: Liberty Border
DANGER LEVEL: Low
CONNECTIONS: Magellan-Jump Hole, Humboldt-Jump Hole, Damaged One-Way Alien Gate to 'Shrine'-System
DESCRIPTION: Kansas is were Auxesia is said to reside. A big, untamed system with a certain beauty to it, and a damaged alien gate. That's the interesting part of it.
This gate is hidden in the Tuttle Creek Nebula. According to my sensor log, it must be in the very middle of the nebula, and then straight down. The long range sensors don't work in that mist, but one will find the gate in medium sensor range. A small wreckage is nearby. The lightnings are helpful here, as the gate will leave a shadow. The Alien gate is pretty damaged and can't support bigger ships to enter it. However, snubcraft can use it. It's a one-way trip, as the gate on the other side, at the edge of the galaxy, won't take you back to Kansas.
One word of warning. The people who run the place beyond that gate are pacifists. It should stay this way. For reason. Better not challenge it.
NAME: Unknown
AREA: Edge of the galaxy
DANGER LEVEL: Low
CONNECTIONS: The one-way connection from Kansas leads here, Pennsylvania-Jump Hole, Liberty Space-Jump Anomaly, New London-Jump Anomaly, Kusari Space-Jump Anomaly, Rheinland Space-Jump Anomaly, Order Space-Jump Anomaly
DESCRIPTION: This system is mysterious and I felt very misplaced here. The radiation is intense, everywhere. However, this system is unique and beautiful. Two suns, a big asteroid field, one unique station.
It's called 'the Shrine', and thus I call the system that way. One of my inferior pilots lead me to this place, telling me the Oracles are running this place. The Shrine is said to welcome everyone, so the pilot. Captain Tatsori Kongou from the destroyed Oracle Battlecruiser Lightseeker showed the pilot this place. The pilot told me the Shrine is a place where Maltese and Corsairs sit at the same table and talk to each other. Everyone here come in peace, and that way it should be and stay. However, I'm afraid with Auxesia in Kansas and a very clear hostility to the Oracles, that could change, as the Auxesians where the ones that destroyed the Lightseeker, killing Tatsori Kongou and her crew. Auxesia knows about this... 'shortcut'.
This system inhabits some strange phenomena. Three pillar-like, generator-like installations at the opposite side of the asteroid field. I don't know what they are there for, but I guess those things make sure the Jump Anomalies back to house space are open. There is one natural-ish Jump Hole leading to the Pennsylvania-System in Liberty, but there are also five other jump anomalies, working a bit different. The lead to Bretonia, Rheinland, Kusari and Liberty as well as to Order space, however, we only tried the bretonian anomaly so far, finding ourselves in New London again. The theory is those jump anomalies are artificially created, as the nomads are said to be able to do so. It's only rumors, but it explains how the nomads can enter house space that deeply without being seen by any sensor array. Also, I remember Maltese people talking about their 'spirits', how they call the nomads. One said exactly that, telling they are able to create rifts to any point in the galaxy. Another entity said the nomad being called Saturnia is able to make a thought become material.
We can be lucky my thoughts aren't becoming real, since I'm dirty minded.
NAME: Omicron Zeta
AREA: Omicrons
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
CONNECTIONS: [Needs to be updated]
DESCRIPTION: Omicron Zeta once was more of a passage way to Order space, so to say, and it was the one system the Core had to enter to reach Omicron Iota. The Jump Hole to Iota was heavily defended, by two big nomad defense satellites on this side and a third one on the other side.
There are also alien ruins on Planet Magur, the moon of planet Murilo. We know the Order has an eye on this system, as they have the Meskhenet Station hidden in a nebula there. However, the Apahanta didn't visit this system since the Great Ion Storm of May, 823.
NAME: Omicron Delta
AREA: Omicrons
DANGER LEVEL: High
CONNECTIONS: Omicron Rho-Jump Hole, Omicron Lost-Jump Hole, Omicron Minor-Jump Hole, Omicron Kappa-Jump Hole
DESCRIPTION: Felt like my second home, to be honest. Omicron Delta was, in fact, a delta before the Great ion Storm of May, 823. A ridiculous amount of Jump Holes lead to this system. Now, that is changed and Maltese and Corsairs don't need to come to Delta to visit each other's territory with battleships. Less stress for Core.
The most interesting thing about Omicron Delta, in relation to the nomads, is this 'new' thing they found in the cloud , the Omicron Delta Edge Nebula. We knew there were always a bit more than just those big rocks. There was this Nomad Energy Node, now there is a, what IRG calls it, Nomad Azurite Reactor. Poorly defended, hidden in that cloud between giant rocks and debris of both Core and Order ships. The Wild now and then patrols the area as well as the nomads. I assisted IRG in a research mission here, when a Wilde Gunboat leered at their ships.
One thing to notice. Azurite Gas can be mined there, however, this Azurite isn't the same like Azurite A6. My knowledge on this substance is minimal, but I asked a few people about it. I leave it to the desk criminals to get more knowledge on this topic, as it seems Azurite A6 is something that causes mental illnesses. It's enough to have one Sapphire Raven out there.
Also, there is another nomad installation in Omicron Delta. It's the Lichtenfelde Complex, known for quite a while by the Core and the Order, and of course the Zoners, as Freeport 11 is the installation closest to it. Be careful in Omicron Delta with small ships and transports. The lesser nomads are very aggressive now and can take down unarmed vessels really quick. It's not a rare sight to see Marduks, Irras and Nammus in open space, the Kiribati field or the Edge Nebula. Especially around Lichtenfelde Nammus are often spotted.
One other notice. Ish'tar, the second biggest nomad I've seen so far, is visiting Omicron Delta sometimes. Be very, very careful, as this monster has an effective weapon range of over 8.0k and it's weapon is horribly efficient.
NAME: Omicron Minor
AREA: Omicrons
DANGER LEVEL: High
CONNECTIONS: Omicron Delta-Jump Hole, Omicron Rho-Jump Hole, Alien Gate to Omicron Iota
DESCRIPTION: Minor has changed since the Great Ion Storm of May, 823. Some Jump Hole connections are lost, new ones have formed. You can now reach Omicron Rho from here, and the Omicron Mu Jump Hole is very close as well. The sensor reducing effect of the Minor cloud is gone now. I can't say that's good, though, as the Order can find you know way easier in 'their' territory. Terrorists...
In their paranoia, they destroyed the alien jump gate which lead to Omicron Major. Now, the remains of that gate turn the nebula slowly into a radioactive hell. Communication within that area is impossible, so don't get lost there.
There is an inactive network of nomad lanes in this system, and the Ion Storm revealed a second gate which is leading directly to Omicron Iota. Do yourself a favor and don't enter it. Don't.
There isn't really much more to tell new about Omicron Minor. Planet Toledo is still uninhabitable, and that won't change in a million years. If even, that planet will break apart. The iota Gate is outside the nebula, so one can't miss it. One SHOULD miss it, though. Whoever get's to read this: Be aware.
NAME: Omicron Iota
AREA: Unknown
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
CONNECTIONS: Omicron Major-Jump Hole (one-way), Alien Gate to Omicron Minor, Alien Gate to Omicron-99, Alien Gate to New London, Alien Gate to Liberty Space, Alien Gate to Rheinland Space, Alien Gate to Kusari Space
DESCRIPTION: Whatever enters Iota, the nomads and the Wild will know about. Not even the Apahanta's cloaking device could hide us, and we just were fast enough to leave in one piece. We have some nice footage on this system, though. It's clearly more far away than we think.
As you can see on this picture, the nomads have an array of alien gates in this system. Similar to the Jump Anomalies of the Shrine-system, those gates, according to our instruments, are leading into house space. Bretonia, Rheinland, Kusari, Liberty. Foreign ships however cannot active the gates. We can't use that to our advantage, for example, to flee.
Omicron Iota has changed as well, since the nomad lane network is now outside the nebulae. When the Apahanta patroled Iota before the Ion Storm, that wasn't the case, and Iota was way darker. Now, the two bright suns illuminate the system pretty much more in comparison.
The alien gate in the center of the system leads to the Omicron-99 system. Don't go there. You will die there. Don't do it. Instead, if you wish to visit the Dyson Sphere of Omicron Major, take the lane to the planets. You can't miss them. Be careful, as up to Irra-sized nomads protect the planet. Yet, this is better than taking the gate. Behind Planet Xerna, you will find a Jump Hole to Omicron Major. Take this one instead. Be quick. Iota isn't a system for sight-seeing.
There are a number of nomad installations in this system that should get a bit more attention in this report. We begin with this lair.
Activity here is relatively low. Young lesser nomads are whirling around here, and the lair is protected by weapon platforms, just like the gate in the center of the system. This lair is shielded. We didn't get the opportunity to stay long enough for more scans.
The Altair Research Complex, if you want to call it that way. Human built structure, obviously, but it 'builds' nomad ships, if you want to say it that way. The installation is hidden in the nebula and protected. Not much to get here.
Dur Shurrikun is, from what people know about the nomads, their home in this part of the galaxy. There is a gate-like portal infront of it. Seems like it's the only way to penetrate the shields of this nomad city. When the Apahanta was there, I had the feeling they very well knew I was there, yet I wonder why they didn't attack me. I believe it's already common knowledge nomads and infected can feel the presence of humans and everything foreign in Iota, Major and 99, as they find us, even with active cloaking device. It's scary, yet the cloaking device helps a bit to at least not give them a giant target to fire at. Wilde Agent Leuchtfeuer said they have no problem with tracing human engines when they chased the Apahanta through Major.
NAME: Omicron Major
AREA: Unknown
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
CONNECTIONS: Omicron Lost-Jump Hole, Omicron Major's Jump Hole leads here, Alien Gate to Omicron Iota
DESCRIPTION: Omicron Major has changed, one could say, but that's, according to Agent Leuchtfeuer, not the case. It's just a different part of the Dyson Sphere. If that true, that is. The unknown planet is still there. Something big has happened here, and it must have been the cause for the Great Ion Storm of May, 823. All the changes in the Omicrons are to be traced back here. All the new Jump Hole connections, the changed nebulae, the new asteroid fields in Omicron Lost even. This all happened around Omicron Major, and here we see a totally new environment. The surface of the Dyson Sphere itself has changed, showing some more interesting patterns and structures. It's now insanely heavy defended. Marduks appearing out of nowhere, just getting into firing range. A nomad city above the gate that leads from Omicron-99 to Iota, enshielded. There are holes in the surface, one could enter them with a small ship, but bringing a snub into this hell is a one way trip.
One that I did. We detected a strange and very strong signal from below the Dyson Sphere. That time, I still had my Bayonet docked in the hangar bay of the Apahanta. It was a one time opportunity, and I'll never do that again. There is an opening, right big enough for snubs to enter it. So I explored that area inside the Dyson Sphere's wall, to find a machine of the size of a cruiser or a small battleship.
After taking a few snapshots, I headed back to the Apahanta quickly and we disappeared, using the Jump Hole near the planet above the Dyson Sphere's atmosphere. It leads to Omicron Lost. One way.
The Apahanta visited Omicron Major more often, protected by the cloaking device. There isn't much more to find in the near vicinity there. A giant gate that leads inside the Dyson Sphere, however, it's closed. I wonder what's inside there. Maybe it's too complex to imagine...
However. I called the Ish'tar the second biggest nomad I've seen so far, somewhere in the Delta file, I guess. In Omicron Major however, there is the biggest I've seen so far, hovering above the Dyson Sphere. I don't know what it is, but I can imagine it's not there to bring peace.
This monster. Agent Leuchtfeuer said it's just a nomad bigger than a Marduk, able to disrupt a warship with one shot. However, I think that's not all about it. This thing is way, way bigger than Ish'tar, and Ish'tar is able to destroy a warship with a few hits of it's long range weaponry. I saw it in Omicron Delta and in Cortez. Wherever Ish'tar appears, it tends to be challenged and forced to use this mighty weapon. The Apahanta was luckily able to dodge those shots back then in Delta, but they are deadly. However, a nomad of this size is probably way more powerful.
I believe this one is a planet killer.
NAME: Omicron-99
AREA: Unknown
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
CONNECTIONS: [Needs to be updated]
DESCRIPTION: Omicron-99 is the stuff nightmares are made of. We don't have much footage on this system, and it's very desolate. A cloud with a nomad lair. The Core calls it the Ravine. Marduks defend this system. I don't know where in the hell this system is actually located. From what I can say, it's not our universe, but don't take my word for it.
I once was intercepted from Jared Nomak here. Was able to escape him and his nomad allies. From this point I knew he was infected or a fanatic. Never saw him again, though.
I don't know what it is, but every time I visited Omicron-99, I felt like I would get sick. Concerning, since my crew felt the same way.

NAME: D9
TYPE: Organisation
DANGER LEVEL: High
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: There is not much data on D9 available so far. Jimmy O'Brian of FL-ER told me D9 are mostly infected agents, probably from Liberty according to the crazy nonsense they say before they engage. We found at least three of their agents in Omicron Iota during the expedition of Core and Order into the nomad controlled worlds.

NAME: Forgiven
TYPE: Infected Guardian
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: Forgiven was one of the infected ships that engaged the Order forces during a bigger fight of humans versus nomads in Omicron Delta at December 12th, 823. While it would be no biggie if a Liberty ship engages the Order, it's a strange thing to have that happen in the Omicrons, along with a Scorpion Gunboat of the Wild. Especially when there is a huge nomad ship in the same area, which caused everyone else to team up against it.
[Proof]
NAME: Charm
TYPE: Infected Avenger
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Charm is an obviously infected or indoctrinated Liberty Security Force agent. The Apahanta encountered this one already months ago, when my ship was part of an Order-Core task force entering Omicron Iota, before the Great Ion Storm of 823. Charm was one of the infected entities, babbling nonsense before and during their assault on our ships, together with nomads of all sizes.
Now, it seems Charm has a new hunting area. Very concerning. In Coronado, it still claimed to be an LSF agent. We have that on record, and it fought together with alien forces against the Crayterians and a Bounty Hunter.

TYPE: Organisation
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Lead by Jared Nomak, according to Joshua Hunt, the Commune Project is a cult that assists the nomads. We had two encounters with them so far. One in Omicron Iota, were Jared Nomak revealed to be a nomad supporter and in Chester, where one of their pilots attempted to intercept our research group. However, exiting the Jump Hole in Dublin, the pilot turned silent, facing a pirate, two Mollys, the Apahanta and the rest of our group. I don't know why, but the Commune pilot changed his mind and headed back to Chester while we paid the pirate to leave us alone.
NAME: Jared Nomak
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: hideous
DESCRIPTION: Leader of the Commune Project, ex Sammarran Raider, cheeky bastard. We found him in Omicron Delta for the first time, where he was in a battle with a Freelancer Corvo. We solved the situation peacefully. He said he just was a tourist - something the most people visiting Delta claim to be. Some weeks later, we found him when we did another exploration run into the nomad systems, at Omicron-99, right at the nomad lair there. He followed the Apahanta to Omicron Major, where he and a nomad bomber tried to take us down but failed in doing so. Short time later in Omicron Lost, he tried to make PRIME units to attack the Apahanta, but they didn't listen to him.

NAME: Erato
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: I encountered this nomad multiple times, with the first time in Omicron Lost. The nomad was in a strange telepathic connection with a female gaian pilot that somehow managed to end up in the deep Omicrons. According to her, Erato showed her the way of living as a nomad as a vision. I was afraid that pilot was in the process of getting intected, so we rammed both her ship as well as Erato to break off the connection. I was still concernced. As a proof of not being infected, the pilot killed Erato, then headed to Omicron Delta before we were able to make a scan on her for the Core. Maybe it was better that way.
Erato is a common visitor of Omicron Delta, a very talky nomad, as I remember it had some conversations with Auxesian pilots. However, we also spotted Erato in multiple hostile encounters. It seems Erato joined now and then some assaults on humans.
NAME: Kessereya Reena
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Reena is an unique case. I encountered this nomad in multiple forms. Mostly, Reena was part of the Kusari Battlecruiser Lightseeker, captained by Tatsori Kongou, who was a Kempetai before she joined the Oracles. Reena somehow was connected to the ship. We never found out how. Aside from that appearance, it was also able to fly around as a small sized nomad.
Reena was able to not only contact me personally from over great distance, but also to find out where I was. For example, when the Apahanta passed the Omega-47-System, Reena contacted me from the Lightseeker, requesting a meeting. At that time, the Apahanta was about to jump to the Cayman-System. The Lightseeker was at the other side of the system. They couldn't see us on their sensors. That aside, the Apahanta was cloaked to avoid contact with the Red Hessians.
Reena was interested in learning more about my positon in the conflict between humans and nomads. It was pleased with my passive attitude. Some months later, Auxesia destroyed the Lightseeker, apparently while they were hunting nomads in Omicron Delta. Kongou interfered, was hopelessly outmatched. Tatsori and her crew died, but we know Reena is still out there, using a projection of Tatsori Kongou to talk to humans, to honor her, as it said.
NAME: Takkar
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: I don't know much about Takkar, but this nomad lured me to Omicron Kappa for a surprising meeting with the Lightseeker. Takkar was interested to learn about human burial rituals and requested me to bring the nomad remains the Apahanta gathered around Freeport 11 to where they belong. The Lightseeker took the remains and disappeared, honoring this transaction with 30.000.000 Credits, saying where they go they don't need credits anyway.
Partook in the assault of the Core-Order-expedition in Omicron Iota.
NAME: Astarte
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Astarte talked to me in human speech. I encountered it in Cortez, where I asked it to leave my home system, as it would only cause panic. I didn't want to repeat a tragedy. Astarte was one of the most interesting nomads of that size. I followed it to Maltese space and it told me some things about the nomads. For example, the reason for morphlings to enter house space. It said they are here to learn to hate. They will encounter humans, they will try to interact with them, and probably get destroyed. Since they are connected to the mindshare, they won't die eternally. They will regrow and keep the knowledge from their lifes before. That way, they will learn to hate, to fight.
Astarte said it was looking for Ishmael, another name for Malta. It also showed me the neutrality between Maltese and nomads. Outcast installations didn't fire at it.
NAME: Exerwenitis
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: I saw this nomad in the distance during an AFC racing event in Baffin. It was watching us near the sun. One of my inferior pilots was trying to talk to it, but it disappeared after a short time.
NAME: Kal'Reh
TYPE: Rabisu
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: One of the nomads that fought the Crayterians in Cortez and Coronado. Apparently older than a morphling. My drone was unable to record any possible nomad speech.
NAME: Kakka
TYPE: Rabisu
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: One of the nomads that fought the Crayterians in Cortez and Coronado. Apparently older than a morphling. My drone was unable to record any possible nomad speech. This one joined the battle a bit later.
NAME: Nameless
TYPE: Morphling
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Defending it's allies in Cortez and Coronado, Nameless is a morphling that clearly is experienced in battle. Since I used the remote controlled drone, I wasn't able to record the telepathic speech.
NAME: Sarah
TYPE: Morphling
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: peaceful
DESCRIPTION: This baby nomad encountered us in Newcastle. It wasn't able to speak, so it only talked using visions of laughing babies and cats, flowers. Apparently it was a joyful little nomad, enjoying the talk with one of my inferior pilots.
NAME: Hry'Kar
TYPE: Snub
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Young nomad. Partook in the assault of the Core-Order-expedition in Omicron Iota. We also have logs of it talking to Auxesians.
NAME: Ka'Rena
TYPE: Labraid
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: One of the nomads that fought the Crayterians in Cortez and Coronado. Apparently older than a morphling. My drone was unable to record any possible nomad speech.
NAME: Ka'Shiru
TYPE: Morphling
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: My drone encountered this entity in New York near Planet Manhattan. Since I was not inside the drone, I wasn't able to receive any telepathic messages by it. However, it seemed to talk to the people around. It appeared right after the Hellfire Legion raiding Manhattan successfully.
NAME: Lightbeam
TYPE: Morphling
DANGER LEVEL: Low
BEHAVIOR: peaceful
DESCRIPTION: Encountered this one in Inverness, it followed us to Cortez, attracted by the lights of one of our vessels. Not very talkative, I guess it was more interested in watching the BPA pilot owning the Auxesians, making them leave Inverness like a badass.
NAME: Elune
TYPE: Nammu
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: Apparently, this nomad isn't interested in learning. We encountered this one multiple times in the close area around Freeport 11 in Omicron Delta. It's highly aggressive and appears to be absolutely hostile to humans.
NAME: Biosynth
TYPE: Nammu
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: During the Core-Zoner-conflict, this Nammu engaged human transports heading to Freeport 11, joining the infected forces for an assault on the defending SCRA and Zoner units.
NAME: Sovereign
TYPE: Irra
DANGER LEVEL: Medium
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Thallia Thorn and Yuki Hideyoshi were in a mindmeld with this entity, and to find out what the hell happened, I also was, for an hour. My mind was transfered to a beach-like terrain. In human form, Sovereign appeared infront of me, and Yuki Hideyoshi was there as well. I still think this nomad was dicking with me, to be honest. It asked me about human emotions, especially about love. During all that time, Sovereign was able to speak clearly, but when I asked something, it responded cryptical, unclear. I don't regret that interaction, however, I'm not happy with it.
During that time, my second-in-command watched me sitting mind-absently sitting in the commanding chair while Auxesia was sitting right next to the Apahanta, sandwiching it with the Eidolon Wraith and the Cincinnati. When I left the mindmeld, I was unharmed. The only side effect was nosebleeding.
NAME: Lahar
TYPE: Irra
DANGER LEVEL: High
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: The Core used the Apahanta for an expedition to Omicron Iota, together with the Order. I was sick back then and stayed at Durban. Captain Farnham took the Apahanta to Iota, where the nomads just awaited them. The Apahanta got severely damaged that day and just made it back to Alabama with a skeletal crew. Farnham died, the Apahanta was in the repair yard for a while. All that because of this nomad called Lahar and an even bigger one called Nergal. Thankfully, we have a good amount of footage from that day, so this wasn't a total failure.
NAME: Nergal
TYPE: Marduk
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: The Nergal was the first Marduk-classificated nomad I have encountered. It attacked Freeport 11 twice in one week, forcing all humans in range to intervene. It was also the first nomad that managed to massively damage the Apahanta, making it unable to fight for quite a while back then. Heavy crew casualties. Luckily, I got away without any wound. Nergal also did that again in Omicron Iota, together with Lahar. Farnham didn't stand a chance that day.
The latest encounter with the Nergal was in Omicron Delta, when we were there with Hans von Goeben, having a little chatter in the evening. Three Marduks decloaked right around us, encircling us and frenzied shooting at the Freeport 11. We managed to escape that incident without harm, however, the Freeport got damaged. Apparently, the Auxesians made the guardians really angry that day.
NAME: Nu-Mus'Da
TYPE: Marduk
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
BEHAVIOR: aggressive
DESCRIPTION: This one was one of the three guardians that assaulted Freeport 11, together with Nergal and Inanna.
NAME: Inanna
TYPE: Marduk
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: We had multiple encounters with Inanna. First of all, it seemed to enjoy talking to Thallia Thorn. It asked her to follow it to Omicron Lost, where we found a disturbed Thallia close to Moros. However, we more often encountered Inanna as a hostile entity. When the Core expedition Mako returned from Omicron Lost to Omicron Delta, Inanna was there with the Ish'tar to fight the Core. The Apahanta managed to beat the Inanna that time. Our biggest victory. Inanna was also one of the three guardians that assaulted Freeport 11, together with Nergal and Nu-Mus'Da.
NAME: Ish'tar
TYPE: Ish'tar
DANGER LEVEL: Extreme
BEHAVIOR: ambivalent
DESCRIPTION: Ish'tar. Astarte described Ish'tar as petulant, and I think that fits just too well. However, it seems to be possible to talk with this one, and everyone that knows Ish'tar a bit longer tells me Ish'tar is way too intelligent to fight. However, not even Astarte was able to tell me the motives of Ish'tar. We had some opportunities to get very close to it. Ish'tar is even bigger than the Marduk guardians and has three forward-pointing long-range-cannons with an effective range of 8.0k. From what we saw so far, Ish'tar is absolute vulnerable from behind. Auxesia used that weakspot to destroy Ish'tar when it was in Cortez, close to Planet Curacao.
Ish'tar doesn't give a shit about human territory claims.
NAME: Unknown
TYPE: Unknown
DANGER LEVEL: Doomsday
BEHAVIOR: passive
DESCRIPTION: We found this one hidden in the atmosphere of the Dyson-Sphere of Omicron Major. This nomad is bigger than a moon. According to Wilde-agent Leuchtfeuer, it is capable of disabling warships in one shot. Since I know how powerful the Ish'tar already is, I believe this nomad is way more powerful. I have the feeling this can only be a doomsday machine. A planet killer. Also, according to Leuchtfeuer, it's not operable yet. It's just hidden in the atmosphere. Also according to him, the houses know about it. But nobody seems to know what it is and what it purpose is. Leuchtfeuer admitted, it is the answer to the human threats.

NAME: Saturnia
TYPE: Highest entity
DANGER LEVEL: Doomsday
BEHAVIOR: Unknown
DESCRIPTION: We never encountered Saturnia, and I believe that's good so far. Astarte said Saturnia has the ability to create things from its mind. Let a dream become real. All nomads know Saturnia and call it a god-like entity. They say it resides at Dur-Shurrikun in Omicron Iota, and they say Saturnia can exist in any form it wants. I can't remember who told me, probably Leuchtfeuer, but according to that, it is possible to contact Saturnia even via Neural Net to ask for an audience. Also, I was warned to not waste its time.
People say the nomads are able to open rifts, Jump Holes, wherever they want, whenever they want. I believe, if one can do that, it's Saturnia. At least, that would explain the artificially created Jump Holes in the Shrine-System and the nomad gates leading into house space in Omicron Iota.

Maltese Religions
DATA CORRUPTED - NOT ACCESSIBLE
NAME: The Church of Sirius
DESCRIPTION: The Church of Sirius is run by the Oracles of Malta and is one of the two major religions practicized by Malta-related people. The entire religion is based on the believe of the nomads being closer to transcendence than we humans are. Worshippers of this religion try to be close and get in touch with the 'spirits', as the Maltese call the nomads, to learn from them. So, they seek co-existance with the nomads. They seek to watch their way of evolution, as they take it as guidance for their own evolution, knowing the nomads will always be ahead of them.
They claim the use of Cardamine opens the mind towards the 'spirits', and they claim a Cardamine-user can hear them, if they listen closely. They call them spirits based on myths and traditions that began with the planetfall of the first Maltese on Malta, as the nomads were already there, according to them. Sights of nomads were a rare thing back then, and since this is pretty much the case of the first contact between humans and an alien race, it is understandable people build myths around those 'spirits'.
When the nomads call, the Oracles will follow, as they worship them this way. With the use of Cardamine, the Oracles claim to be able to communicate with them, on rare occassion it is said some people even joined the nomad Mindshare in a trance-like state. My question about whether the Oracles receive orders from the nomads was answered as following: "They are teachers, so of course there is homework." This includes diverse things, from trivial things up to playing diplomats or mediating between two sides. If not even more.
The Oracles pray to the Nomads, however without ritualistic chanting. According to the Oracles, the nomads can share visions of the future with them. This is, by the way, something I heard from other sources as well. According to this, the nomads are able to predict the future. However, whether this is true or if this is just a claim someone made, I can't tell. It is said the Oracle Master Teacher Thomas Aquintas is one of the individuals that made this experience.
The Church of Sirius is basically open for anyone, however, the Oracles are opposing the Order. According to the Oracles, if they had the power, they would also oppose those who actively fight and exploit the nomads - the Core, Auxesia, Lane Hackers and so on.
Additional information can be taken from this interview between Haog and the Universe of Cambridge.
NAME: Thomas Aquintas

Oracle Master Teacher Thomas Aquintas is... well, good question. What is he? From what I have heard, he is neither humand nor nomad, but something between that. Someone once said he has no nose, so I asked an Oracle about it and learned more about it. According to that Oracle, Thomas Aquintas sacrificed parts of his human body in order to be what unifies humans and nomads. He is said to be the middle ground between Tolomon, who mirrors the human aspect of the Oracles, and Saturnia, who mirrors the nomad aspect of them. A trinity.
Someone said he has a strange sense of humor.

Tolomon is said to be the personification of the human aspect of the Oracle's trinity. According to my information, he is the one who handles the Oracle's related things on Malta.
NAME: Marie Mercier
AFFILIATION: Oracles, Maltese
STATUS: Questionable. I don't really know what she is doing exactly.
HEIGHT: Below average
HAIR: Blond
EYES: Grey with mixed blue and green. Hard to define, actually
PLACE OF BIRTH: Gallia
DATE OF BIRTH: I guess she is somewhat my age
It's funny, to be honest, because I have no idea what exactly her status is. She is from Gallia, fought on Leeds, is married, has a son, no contact to son and husband. She didn't gave up on them, though. No plans on finding a new love. She somehow ended up on Malta, joining the Maltese society, became Oracle and is now owner of her own piece of land on Malta, with servants. She seems to be alright with the Maltese Slavery Policy and pretty much praises it whenever the topic comes up.
She hides her hair under a headscarf, claiming she doesn't like the way men are looking at her - which is somewhat understandable, since she has a natural beauty. Female gallic esprit. One of her legs is croaked due to a shot into it during her time on Leeds. I thought about contacting Thallia Thorn to fix this, however I have no clue where she is right now. Marie is also terrible when it comes to jokes.
Since she helped me with my problem with the Core, I'll restrict this entry and not share it with the Core or anyone.

I'm pretty sure I heard this voice somewhere before, but in fact, I have no idea who this is. Like Gemini, this Oracle showed up during a major battle between Core, Order and nomads in Omicron Delta in 823.
NAME: The Holy Faith of Tarxien
DESCRIPTION: The maltese family La Torre is a family that managed to make many other families swearing allegiance to them. That way, they became very powerful. Tarxien La Torre was their lord and he professed to ba a prophet, with the vision to conquer Sirius with Malta as the place of government to rule over Sirius, alongside with the spirits. He gave the religion the name. Holy Faith of Tarxien.
The Holy Order of the Crimson Cross is what we know today, or knew, as it's influence is decreasing each month, with the National Council gaining more and more power. During my time in the Core, we had a few neutral-to-hostile encounters with the Crimson Cross in Delta, however I didn't see any of them around anywhere in the late 823. According to my information, La Torre got sick and Erika Espinosa represented the Tarxiens in the end, while the Cross' supporters left over time, feeling the weakness.
The Nacional Council acknowledged both religions as majority religions on Malta and protects them.
According to the Oracles, the Crimson Cross lost most of their spaceborne assets as the noble families moved to support other causes.
The Tarxiens are said to be fond of dramatic public speeches. Also, it is said they were able to enter nomad space without much problem.

Tarxien La Torre is said to be the founder for the Crimson Cross and the lord of the La Torre family of Malta. He claimed to be a prophet, with the vision to conquer Sirius and establish Malta as governing body. He managed to get the grace of many families of Malta, using them to unify their power under the flag of the Crimson Cross. According to the Oracles, La Torre got sick and had to give up the lead, making place for Erika Espinosa, who did not manage to ensure the integrity of the Crimson Cross.

Erika Espinosa is the last known leader of the Crimson Cross. According to the information I received, she took the lead of the Crimson Cross when Tarxien La Torre got sick. I guess there is a direct connection between her taking the lead, the sickness of La Torre and the decreasing power and influence of the Crimson Cross.

Nomad Database
DATA CORRUPTED - NOT ACCESSIBLE
Name: Sans Valeur
Nickname: Valery; Little Blue
Affiliation: Nomads
Status: Alive
1. Valery's Backstory
Around the time of me meeting M, she was working for a Wilde agent called Leere. According to her, against her will. There are very little details I know about that. I know she had to haul stuff from A to B for him, but I guess assassination is very likely to have been one of her other tasks. Back then, she was not infected. However, if I remember correctly, he made experiments with her. M got in touch with cardamine when she was in her puberty, I think she started with 16 years. She told me Agent Leere gave her Liquid Cardamine, and she used it, and that altered her body to a point where she was about to die if she didn't have something to regulate her health. So she received the nomad incubus she named Sans Valeur.
2. Revelation
Today, Sans Valeur is around one year old. We once made the mistake of inviting N-X to a dinner. A creepy psychopath, if you ask me. Maren wanted him to come over to the Hoffnungsschimmer for a dinner with all of us. T was there, L, N, me, M and him. I hated him back then already, as he constantly suspected M of... being what she was. My plan back then was to break his damn nose the very first moment I would get the opportunity. I probably still would want to do that. Pesky creep. The weird array of events in that evening lead to me finding out about the secrets of T and M. The one somehow got altered by some sort of nomad technology, the other was infected. It was about to drive me insane, and once we finally got rid of N-X - by asking him to leave my ship - M and I had a talk. Not only was I talking to Maren, but also to Valery.
Valery back then was only able to talk to me by having M touching my skin, or my hair, as she stroked me into a trance like state, that was how it felt. Valery appeared infront of me, she didn't show up as an incubus or a nomad. Instead, she adapted the human form, looking like a smaller version of M, yet different. We were still on my ship, but it was a lucid dream, so to say.
M and Valery convinced me of them not being against me, as M deeply loved me - I do think she still does - and Valery sort of shares M's emotions as she had no referential values from other human beings. They swore me loyalty, to an extent. All I asked for was them not infecting me, as that was my biggest fear back then.
3. Acceptance
Valery was creeping me out for quite a while, and it heavily affected my relationship with M back then. I was keeping my distance from her, sort of. Didn't sleep with her, not even close to her. The imagination of her infecting me in sleep was too big. But with the realization of the fact that Valery had enough time to infect me already, yet refused, my trust in her grew. So she became part of the crew. Back then, T was already aware of it, so it was only T, M and me knowing about Valery.
I gave her that nickname. Sans Valeur, the name M gave her, was not... fitting, I guess? It's french, meaning worthless. Contradicting her, though. I called her Valery, then, and M adapted the name for her. I sometimes call her Little Blue, too, and named my Dorado after her, as I think Little Blue is also a very unsuspicious name for a ship.
Eventually, Valery began using a projection of herself even without the need of being in direct contact with someone. It is insanely realistic. Like, literally no difference from a real human. To explain it very cheap, she uses a mix of telepathy, illusion and telekinesis to do that. People all around her will be able to see her, if she wants. And feel her. She feels like a real human, as she uses memories as referential values to recreate the same sensation in the mind of the human. She even eats and drinks, although she does not really. This can be divided in two different processes. In case of her pretending to be human, the liquid or food she consumes is just an illusion created by her. However, in special circumstances where the objects that interact with her illusion are not part of her illusion, those objects will be altered or at least moved by her mind powers. For example, the automated doors of the Corvo are not an illusion. Either she creates the illusion of them opening for her to enter the next room, or she accesses the door panel via telekinesis to open the door in reality.
4. Switching the host
Then there was the time of N and L engaging in a, sort of, relationship. They did it one time too often during their first night and she ended up with a critical memory loss, caused by stress and exhaustion. That was basically the second time she lost her memories of the recent years, only able to recall that she was on Leeds working in a bar. After many attempts of healing her with rather normal-ish methods, T made a suggestion to M and me during the hiking trip on Canaria back then when we found Mittens. She suggested Valery to leave M's body temporarily to enter N's body. I first was absolutely against that. However, seeing how she suffered from her issues, her stress-based paralysis and the repetive memory loss, and knowing nothing else was likely to help, I gave them my agreement. I watched it happening. We were in my bedroom, because of the big bed, and N was laying on it, with M's head over her head. What looked like a kiss, was a horribly gross transfer, as I saw something blue leaving M's mouth together with a bit of blood and saliva. Nightmare fuel. Valery was rather small back then.
It was a weird time. L was living on the Apahanta back then, as he and N brook up before it happened. So I was caring for her quite often, together with M. Nancy fell in love with Valery, literally. The incubus was able to help N, it took like two months. During that time, M said she felt lonely, and she often hummed a melody. When I asked her why she did so, she answered she was missing the background noises. I guess being with Valery had an ASMR effect on her. M was clinging onto me most of the time, which impacted on our relationship. It was quite nice, but sometimes weirding me out, as M changed over that time. She wanted me to do certain things.
5. Bathing with an incubus
There was a moment of N losing it completely as about something, and she started wildly punching her belly, yelling at Valery, wanting her to leave her body, so she did, without preparation, which was quite contra-productive for both N and Valery. However, I got the opportunity to see Valery in her natural body. It was less disgusting the more I looked at it, if I'm honest, and I think she is quite an interesting creature. For the time being, she lived in a bathtub on the Corvo, filled with, well, salt, as M said Valery needed it.
I did something weird back then. I mean, I was probably the first human ever to do that. Before Valery left N's body, we had multiple times talked about her real form, and somewhen ended up joking about me taking a bath with her when she told me she could survive in a bathtub for a while. So, I did that. I placed her on my bare chest and poured some water over her every now and then. The sensation was... unique. It was the closest I ever got to the nomad incubus, and looking at it was pretty interesting. Her incubus body was very soft, and according to the scans T did on her when Valery was still inside M, it was no bones but consists literally only out of muscle flesh. She asked me to not touch her too hard, but it was obvious she was a sack of nomad meat. Her appendage was wrapping around my arm back then, very gently. It looked weird, that mouth-like opening with four, uhm, lappets. More interesting was the lower side of her body, as it was covered with like millions of fleshy tendrills. I felt them on my chest, it was a bit tickling. She was able to communicate with me via telepathy, however without her projection.
Her tendrills were able to penetrate my skin on a certain level, not harming me but reaching deep enough to reach my nerves, so she showed me she could affect me that way, too, without doing harmful things. It felt nice, however. Most of the time, Val made a purring noise. She explained that comes from her, uhm, breathing, filtering the components of the air. It wasn't like a cat purring, but similar.
After calming N down again, Valery was allowed to enter her again. The process of her leaving or entering a body was quite exhausiting for both all of them. M was sick and in bed for a week, Valery said she couldn't risk leaving or entering a body without preparation and N was in bed for a day or two as well.
6. Sans Valeur healing N
Valery was able to fix most of N's issues. The paralysis was gone, her memories were more stable and sorted out and her emotional condition was better, too. So before N would create a cardamine-dependency, she returned to M. The result was however N missing Valery to this day, as not having her inside her body seems to have a very negative impact on her. She is slowly recovering from it, though, and I guess it is really helpful that L and N gave it a second chance. She still claims to love Valery, however Valery never showed N how she really looked like. Not even when Valery left N as she always put an illusion up for her.
7. Returning to the originial host
M never felt more confident than now, with Valery back in her body. The situation is more calming down now. However, Valery is still... a problem, so to say. Even with me requesting the Oracles to ensure the freedom of Unschuld, meaning both Valery and M didn't need to be that agent anymore, she is still what she is. It is as R said. A bio-engineered weapon. We have an agreement. I do not ever again fight the nomads. She will protect me. But if I turn against them, she will be what she is. A weapon.
8. My new allies - the Nomads
Thus, I can't do anything but stay away from all the trouble of Sirius. In a fight, humans versus nomads, I won't be able to pick a side. I can't turn against my own kind, mostly, and I can't fight them. Not that I want either of that. However, it traps me, as certain people try to make me fight them. That is a problem. Another problem is that if her, let's say, superiors ever have a reason to make her kill me, she can't disobey. So she would kill me. Given what incredible powers she has, she can do that instantly.
There is one good thing, though. She will protect me from the nomads as well. M even made a deal, somehow, allowing the Apahanta to flee to Altair in Omicron Iota, if needed. I first was afraid of it. But she told me things about it. I just hope we never need to go there, though. Would be hard to explain towards my crew, although some of them know I am not fighting the nomads anymore...
9. Involved people
Right now, only a few people know about Valery. M and me, of course, but also S, L, N and T. Probably even E-L.
10. Sans Valeur about the Planet Killer
When I asked Valery about the giant nomad in Omicron Major, she said she was unable to comprehend the complexity of the entity.
11. Valery's Alterations on the Hoffnungsschimmer
If I'm honest, it is almost a problem already. During the last year, we got our hands on two Nomad Energy Cells. One M received from a smuggler, buying it for a few million credits - the guy was glad to get rid of it - and the other one collected by my drone, the Handsome Rover, during a nomad invasion in Manchester. One day, I mentioned the IRG working on alterations on the Apahanta's cloaking device to make it more efficient, and I mentioned that I would like to have that with the Hoffnungsschimmer as well. Valery knew we had those power cells and suggested she could do something about it, having access to the knowledge of the Mindshare. And so she did. Phase 1 was explaining her how the cloak of the Hoffnungsschimmer worked. So she took her time to understand it.
We then took a few days on tinkering on some sort of adapter, as we needed something to connect the nomad power cell with the cloaking device. I'll probably document the construction of it later. I mean, part one, at least. The idea was to create the shape of what Valery needed. Like, it was precise work, with different kinds of material, but looking at it in the end, what we build didn't look like anything working. That would change with part two. Back then, Valery was in N's body, so she asked N to spit on the construct and smear her spit over it. Apparently, she added a certain material to N's spit in that moment. The rest was a matter of time. Days and weeks later, the construct didn't look anything like it was a human construct anymore. It was connected to the cloak and the engine, and it was covered in crystals, reshaped and hiding anything that would hint that thing was a bunch of metals once. However, we were able to insert the nomad power cell into it.
And it worked.
However, what Valery didn't tell me back then, was that there was more about the crystals. Those... nomad crystals. They were expanding slowly. Right now, some parts of the engine bay aren't accessible anymore. I can't even allow Mittens to stray around down there. According to Valery, the crystals are not dangerous to the touch. I don't want to find out, though. I remember what happened to the guys on Alabama and Durban that got in touch with the nomad bacteria.
While the crystals are expanding more and more, although with very slow pace, they make the changes obvious to scanners. It will look like the ship is carrying nomad remains. So while the ship is now able to cloak itself infinitely, we can't show it to anyone anymore. Our home is now a hideout. If I had known that back then, I wouldn't have accepted it. But that is how it is now.
12. Valery as human
It was pretty hard to get used to her human form. First she looked like a mini-M. Over time, she added a few alterations, like freckles. When she was in N's body, she looked more like a mix of M, mini-M and N. Her hair was different, her face. The hosts had a pretty strong influence on her appearance, however not on her behavior.
Valery's human form is always moving with precision, unlike M, who has those clumsy kind of movements and unlike N, who has subtly pronounces her body shapes when moving. However, over time she added details and characteristics to her projection. She tries to act like a real human. That includes watching at TV screens, although without the host seeing what it displays, she can't see it. She narrows her eyes when looking at brightness. She even simulates her own footprints in the sand - although those disappear after a few seconds, when nobody was looking. There is also a certain playfulness in her movements, something child-like. Something unbothered. It is often in big contrast to the things she says, as she, while she allowes herself to small-talk with us, in certain dialogues she showed a very firm way of talking. For example, about her being unable to do anything against a superior order. Or when she was talking about my promiscuity.
There was a time when I was in a mindmeld with Valery, after she had a... fauxpas with L that caused N to be very upset about Valery. The world around us first looked like Nuremberg. Dry wasteland. Then it changed to a forest. Valery was blaming herself for the trouble she caused. During our conversation, she ran away deeper into the forest. Knowing it was a mind-created world, I remained in place instead of searching for her. It was probably the cutest thing I have ever experienced, as Valery was too shy to show herself. Instead, she placed Mittens into this mindworld. He came out of nowhere, rubbing his head against my body as I sat on a rock. I placed him on my lap, stroking him. A little later, he hopped off, walking away, then stopped a few meters away from me, looking back at me. Then he walked another few steps, stopped, looked back at me. I knew what was about, so I followed him and he lead me to Valery. We talked things out and everything was okay again. However, this situation showed me she adapted the human feelings for shame, pride and earnest sadness. It still impresses me to this day.
13. Freeing her from Das Wilde
Seeing how M and Valery left me every now and then to do things for Das Wilde was sort of destroying our relationship. I wanted that to stop. So I contacted the Oracles, as they were closer to, well, the nomads, as they are the middle ground. What I got was a meeting with Oracle L, who to this day is someone I think I could trust. The K'hara nomad called K-R joined the conversation as well, doing something pretty similar to what Valery does: projecting a human image to interact with us humans. K-R however chose the back then already dead T-K as an avatar. We had this conversation and both K-R and L, M was with me. They had a consent, as M and Valery did enough for Das Wilde to gain their freedom. Freedom as in: They wouldn't need to fulfill tasks for Das Wilde anymore. However, the connection to the Mindshare would remain. It would kill Valery, probably, if the connection was ceased. After all, S-R said she managed to kill a nomad the moment it was disconnected from the Mindshare.
Abilities:
Via herself:
- Telepathy
- Telekinesis
- Illusion (all senses)
Via host:
- Eyes glowing
- Alteration of the body
- Entering and leaving the host's body (although pretty exhausting and risky)
- Total control over host (i. e. Leuchtfeuer, probably even Enma Loyola)
- Connection to Mindshare
- Linking with the Mindshare to create an illusion of herself in the space of Omicron Minor
- Mindmelding (via host touching another human)
