Hello Admiral and pertinent members of Agency: 404.

I'm not sure where to begin, since a lot has apparently gone down over the past day or so, at least on-board L.N.S-Salem.
From what I understand, Morrell had been put in Command by the general consensus of its crew. Hayden, the previous and inter-rim C.O seemingly grew unhappy with the way he handled the duties of the same, eventually trying to usurp the ship for herself by force.

Thankfully some of the crew were of the mindset to involve me, and in doing so the ship was secured again and moored with Juneau, pending several key decisions that I'm broadcasting this transmission to talk about.
Chief among these discussions being Salem's pending restoration, negligence of the experimental sort has set the ship back in terms of over-all efficiency, I fear that it'll never recover the combat efficiency its lost, but despite that the sluggish performance and over-all flaws do need correction.

Secondly, the crew are of the mindset of reappointing me as their C.O. Very adamantly so. I've told them that I have no intentions of rejoining the Navy and in truth, I'm happy where I currently am.
So for the sake of them and further service to the Republic, I'm also going to request a transfer of Salem's ownership and deployment to Agency: 404. Key benefactors to our situation in Alaska, I'm certain Salem would be a welcome asset to them, though it might lack the firepower a naval dreadnought requires, it does possess certain fortes that I'm sure a security agency would find very useful.

Putting business aside, I'm interested in knowing how you've been as of late, Admiral Jones. We need to get in touch more often, you and DeGrange as crazy as she may occasionally seem.

For the betterment of the Republic.

Greetings Reeves,

There's always something going on. Just different days and rationales.

As you are aware, the Navy is does not work based on "Supreme councils of the ship's crew" that decides what happens on a "general consensus" or something. There's a chain of command which dictates for everything. Now, when things like this kind of putsches happen, people get court martialed, arrested and depending on that, they get transferred, discharged, or punished in other heavier forms.

As far as I'm aware the battleship in question is meant to be decommissioned sometime in the near future. So I believe a transfer to Agency 404 could be arranged, and they can modify, restore the ship as well as man it with their own personnel. However before we proceed with that, the Agency's director, Ms.Kerensky, would need to get in touch with me, to confirm and clarify the intentions and details of the request.

On another note, things are rather stable and looking good, we're making preparations for future operations. DeGrange is up to her usual job, keeping an eye on the ESRD work and coordinating for current and future missions. Anyways, good luck with in your time with the Agency. You'll find out most of them are some of the best that Liberty has had.

Best of Regards,

Alan Jones

Thank you for your time as always Admiral.

I'll be sure to inform Miss Kerensky to get in touch with you on this channel to further clarify details and establish a means of operation for the restoration of the ship's faulty systems.
Though I'm fairly certain it'll involve availing the service of the Navy's LLS department. The nature of the ship and materials required might prove difficult to get through any other source, but that's something that only be discovered through a little discussion and research.

The Agency is certainly different from my experience in the Navy, that being said I'm growing accustomed to it and the methods of operation. I do hope we end up working together in the field, like old times.

For the betterment of the Republic.

Fleet Admiral Jones, Avery Reeves et al. ;

Salutations Fleet Admiral. It is a pleasure for me to finally speak with you, as I believe that this is the first time we have had the pleasure of communicating with one another.

To get right down to the point, the Agency's directorate has already green-lit of the transfer of the Salem and her current assets to the Agency, pending Naval approval of course. Not only do we believe that we can make use of this ship in a general manner, but it would fill some capability voids that need addressing. For example, the amount of protection that a Liberty Dreadnought hull offers is significant, which would suit our requirements for any kind of mobile forward operating base. On the other hand, we would also have the option of converting some real-estate inside the hull towards other roles such as R&D and training, in particular with regards to boarding actions and space-bourne infantry assault. Furthermore, we would be looking to use the Salem as an armoury of sorts, for ground rather than space operations. Standardisation is not on the Agency's list of priorities as each of our operatives have their own tastes and preferences when it comes to weaponry, and the Salem would be a secure location to make the necessary modifications; firearms, mechanised equipment and explosives are what spring to mind here. That being said, this would all be irrelevant without the high level of automation present on this warship, as that particular fact means we expect running costs and manpower requirements to be comparatively minimal when viewed against vessels of a similar size and mass.

Of course, there is no such thing as a free lunch and we do not expect you to approve any kind of transfer without benefit to the Navy. I have already heard, from both you in your previous reply and operative Reeves himself that this ship is in need of a big dose of TLC. For this refit, we would of course like to use military rather than civilian facilities as well as the military supply chain. While this would come out of your budget if you desired to press the Salem back into front-line service (and of course you do not, which is why it is due to be decommissioned), we would cover the costs of this refurbishment. This means that we would be contacting you, or more specifically, the Liberty Logistics Corps, to deliver parts and servicing. This may be different to the standard load required by this warship, as we would be performing the assessment of the parts required ourselves in order to facilitate the different purpose we expect the Salem to fulfill when compared to its intended role.

Now, I know we've all had a problem with the Liberty Security Force recently, and while we've taken pains to dissociate ourselves from the =LSF= without engendering direct animosity from them, it would be right of you to be concerned about where this piece of heavy hardware will end up in the long term. With your logistics corps doing the servicing required, the Navy will be able to keep abreast of all tactical developments on board the ship until the end of its extended service life, giving you and us the edge needed to retake it or destroy it if circumstances evolve unfavourably. Furthermore, as an older vessel, restoring it to combat worthiness is prohibitively expensive, meaning that this ship will never become a real threat to the Navy. I am being very direct in this manner due to Liberty's seemingly never-ending hemorrhage of warships, in particular battleship-class vessels. I would certainly understand your hesitation in approving the transfer of this vessel to our Agency under these circumstances, so I feel that the safeguard of Liberty Navy maintenance of this warship would help to assuage your concern here. Naturally, we never intend for this situation to occur, but the future rarely develops with intentions in mind and the list of Liberty warships lost to precisely such a situation is longer than the Little Red Book.

If you would like to meet personally to discuss this, I would be more than happy to oblige. I can't imagine handing over a Dreadnought to someone with my history to be an especially pleasing thought. That being said, I should point out at this stage that I am not any kind of director within Agency 404. I am a field operative like any other. The directors themselves don't really get out much, and in fact, I don't even know what they look like. Given what we do, I'm sure it's for the better.

Kind regards,

Sonja Kerensky

Greetings again Admiral and supervising members of the Agency,

Salem has as of recent events and the proposition of a potential transfer, remained dry-docked upon Norfolk Shipyard, pending a full transfer of ownership and the necessary changes to the transponder along with any immediate and minor services required to ensure her operational efficiency.

My request is to allow it free access to the Chessapeake facility, wherein further restoration and complex modification can be entertained with the due security and clandestine nature required for the same. I'm yet to hear of your ultimate and final express approval on the matter, so the ship will hold on Norfolk until such is declared.

As always, thank you for your time and continued services to our Republic.

Greetings again Mr. Reeves and Ms.Kerensky,

Apologies for the delayed response, things have been a bit tight recently. From what I understand, despite some of the systems being a bit old the dreadnought can still serve as a mobile base of operations and definitely more useful to you than to the Navy. I do have confidence that the agency will utilize this warship to the best interests of the republic and always for the right call in the situations it will encounter.

As far as the "separatist" movement, which i believe both of you are aware of its nature, it has been contaminated and their offensive capabilities reduced, and as of now we believe that the majority of such are either running or hiding. Following the lowering of the threat the blockades in Virginia have become more lenient, especially after the system being de-guarded. As such the general cells of the LSF can still operate freely within the minefield and Chesapeake shipyard hence allowing you to operate normally as well.

With enough being said, your request for the transfer of this vessel to Agency 404 has been accepted. However I cannot provide a clear statement on the amount of support the logistics corps may be able to provide at this time, due to their intense schedule. As such the help provided may be unstatisfactory and you may require further help from the private sector.

Let me know about any further questions or requests. And remember; Don't give up the ship.

Best of Regards,

Alan Jones
