It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Sigismund Rusk, the former Administrator of Freeport 9, has stepped down from his position. During his time as Administrator, Freeport 9 and Corfu base under his jurisdiction saw an increase in exports, multiple conflicts avoided through negotiation, and a safe haven for those that suffered over the Freeport 11 attacks. He will be missed.

We are though happy to announce that his successor has been voted on by the Confederation, and we welcome Sean Goodman as the new Freeport 9 administrator, with Corfu base under his care as well.

Shortly after appointing Mr. Goodman to a CoF Administrator, the Confederation along with Mr. Goodman agreed with a majority vote that the Omicron Theta system would be henceforth classified as a protectorate of the Confederation. As such, a system-wide revised NFZ has been placed on the system, in order to ensure the safety of the denizens within the system, as well as those passing through.

Along with the aforementioned vote, the Confederation has deemed it necessary to change a standing CoF law, specifically in reference to Section Two, Article Seven. Effective immediately, no base or installation may be built within 15k of CoF claimed space without expressed approval from members of the Confederation. The previous radius of 5k was deemed dangerous given that many installation's defensive systems could be and have been positioned within the NFZ of CoF installations, thus increasing the risk of damage to Zoner stations. This change should alleviate such a danger to those aboard the stations as well as those within the NFZ.
