After several assignments skirmishing with our local terrorist population I was moving through the New Berlin system to Dresden. My intentions were to investigate reports concerning Hessian smugglers and carriers in the region. I was at the New Berlin jump gate when I received a rallying call from RFP SEK-Bergelmir-04 for police and military personnel to muster at Bonn Station. To undertake the same or similar investigation, it seemed. Thus, I made haste.
SEK-Bergelmir-04 himself did not arrive however. He was intercepted into pursuing a smuggler transport through Rheinland space. There was no communication from the smuggler but a cargo scan revealed he was hauling thousands of highly illegal artifacts.
As the chase began to lead SEK-Bergelmir-04 off the grid of Rheinland space I offered my assistance. With approval, I moved my X4TS "Tiger Shark" from Bonn Station and made for Sector-F1, SEK-Bergelmir-04's last grid reading.
Soon enough SEK-Bergelmir-04 had outmaneuvered the transport. He implemented a point blank cruise disruption to stall the engines after earlier attempts from a distance were thwarted by generous use of counter measures. By the time I had arrived at the off-grid coordinates the smuggler transport was completely destroyed and immediate space was littered with artifacts.
Obsequious II, an RGS transport, was called in to seize and impound the significant haul of contraband. On SEK-Bergelmir-04's command I was charged to locate Obsequious II and lead him back to the site of the destroyed transport.
Using the position of New Berlin, the Hamburg jump gate and the system Solar as reference points we successfully coordinated our movements. Obsequious II was located but, perhaps due to fatigue on my part, attempts to relocate SEK-Bergelmir-04 proved difficult.
Eventually, images arrived on Obsequious II's system from SEK-Bergelmir-04 showing his exact position. With that assistance the matter seemed safely in hand and I was dismissed. I concluded my patrol by returning to Bonn Station where I have docked to take rest.

Glory to Rheinland.
I began my patrol in the New Berlin system operating a 90-ARKM-N45. Moving through the trade lane to Bonn Station my scanners picked up a Junker with the handle of "ScrapVulture". I disengaged from the Trade Lane to hail, and scan his cargo. There were all manner of peculiarities in his storage including what seemed to be exotic biological tissues. I caught only a glance in his hold before I was forced to engage cruise engines and pursue him. Continuing in the general direction he had disappeared I located a Junker base.
I docked here and made inquiries, though this was unfruitful. I departed, and resumed my course for Bonn Station.
Before I could dock at Bonn Station I was notified that the Zoner ID related to yesterdays artifact seizure, "Alcmaeonidae", was again active in the New Berlin System. I cut through the Achenfeld, hoping to encounter this smuggler by chance.
Soon enough our military base in Dresden captured his ID there. I made haste, but by then, his signal was out of the system.
Exploring the Dresden system I located two jump gates - one to Omega 54 and one to New Berlin. I scouted through Omega 54, destroying a vanguard of Hessian fighters. I tested the defenses of their weapons platforms and scouted their bases.
Now that I have located the hole between Dresden and New Berlin, I will be more deliberate to patrol this obvious smuggler route.

Hail.
Following the discovery of my previous report I had set an ambush at the New Berlin to Dresden hole. I encountered several waves of Unioner Dromedary smugglers in convoy, accompanied by fighters. The fighters attempted to distract me while the Dromedary freighters made escapes. I managed to chase down and destroy many of these freighters with the assistance of cruise disrupting missiles.
After several skirmishes I had captured 2 Bundschuh pilots, 4 Unioner pilots, 5 LWB pilots, and 21 Red Hessian pilots. As well as these prisoners I seized 18 crates of sidearms. I destroyed dozen more crates of sidearms and a dozen canisters of black market munitions which I could not fit in my cargo hold, for preference to bringing these smugglers to justice.
I make this report from Vierdeland where I enjoy the hospitality of our brothers in Rheinland Police and service my ship for radiation damage.

In Hamburg space, while patrolling the jump hole to New Berlin, I intercepted two Dromedary freighters and an escort of fighters smuggling artifacts into the New Berlin system. I persecuted them completely, destroying all vessels and apprehending the smugglers. I seized what I could of the contraband and impounded it at New Berlin. What could not be stored as cargo was destroyed - as you see in the attached image, half of the load which was in itself a substantial amount.
While I am docked at my home planet of New Berlin for repairs I am taking some much postponed R&R off-base at the Richter estate. My feet are up, a good cigar is in my teeth, and I enjoy the quiet company of my hound dogs.

Encountered two officers of Rheinland Police who had halted a civilian transport on his way to New Berlin. The pilot would not comply with the orders of the officers to abandon his cargo and attempted to cloak his ship. I assisted in the destruction of the vessel, and in guarding the cargo while a police freighter transported the stock to New Berlin.
Afterward, I served as an escort to one of the Police Kadett in transporting prisoners to Vierdeland. Fortunately, it seemed. We were attacked by Hessians hoping to free their comrades. They were unsuccessful. The prisoners were delivered to Vierdeland and are undergoing processing as I make this report from the bar.

On trade lane patrol in this 24 hour period I happened upon an encounter between Agent Ohlendorf of Büro der Marineintelligenz and a suspect referred to as "Tomaten". Agent Ohlendorf was questioning the pilot in space outside of Planet Hamburg regarding his possession of a gunboat restricted to Rheinland Military Personnel. Supporting the BDM I positioned my 12-ARKM-N37 to flank the gunboat from behind and prepared my weapon systems in case of any sudden misconduct on the part of this suspected thief.
During this encounter a Zoner attempted to pass us piloting a Hessian fighter. He was sternly warned that operating such craft in Rheinland space is forbidden. He surrendered two Unioner prisoners he had captured and assured us he was only passing through. He was put under obligation not to return to Rheinland space in such a vessel.
After this, Agent Ohlendorf and I escorted the gunboat back to Battleship Westfalen with full co-operation of the pilot. The man Tomaten has submitted his vessel to the service of Rheinland and has been conscripted into the Rheinland Militar. The BDM will be investigating the misconduct that allowed for this military vessel to be released to a member of the public.
The Agent Ohlendorf and I made for Vierlande, encountering only light resistance on the way. We submitted our prisoners for processing and began the patrol we had determined at Westfalen - to search out the anomaly gate between Hamburg and Koeln.
At the site of the anomaly we defeated several waves of lawless fighters. Soon our cargo bays were loaded with prisoners and many black market munitions had been detonated on site. Entering the jump hole to the Koeln system to continue our patrol we arrived in a great and blinding cloud. Therein we were immediately ambushed by hostile fighters. We defeated and apprehended the enemy. During the combat both our vessels detected readings of a Cruiser operating somewhere nearby in the cloud. We decided to investigate.
With low visibility we depended upon our system to navigate us toward the Cruiser beacon. Our reconnaissance failed - we were under fire from the Cruiser before we saw it. I made several passes in my bomber, but a swarm of fighters had scrambled out of the Cruiser and were pressing us hard. BDM Agent Ohlendorf called for us to withdraw but moments later his fighter was destroyed in brave combat.
Danke Gott, I tractored his escape pod before one of the rebels captured him. The prisoners in his cargo bay at the time were either incinerated in the explosion or, more unfortunately, recollected by their comrades.
On return to Vierlande I submitted the prisoners in my holding for processing and I left Agent Ohlendorf for routine examination at infirmary - though to me he seemed sound of body and health after his ordeal. A lucky man.
Arrangements were promptly made to provide the BDM Agent a new vessel from Alster Shipyard. As for the Cruiser in the Koeln system, "Cruiser Schwarzwald", it will be revisited with a larger force and will be flushed out of the cloud. I resume R&R at Vierlande for the time being.
