Montana is a Monument-class Liberty Dreadnought built for a singular purpose of wreaking havoc on the enemy using brute force and sly tactics. The Montana, unlike some dreadnoughts, is not the first name the ship itself had bore through the years, and through the years, she's held quite a number of names. Saskatchewan, Liberty River, Orlando, Jackson and Yucatan were all names the ship held in her over 29 years of military service to the Republic. She was there on the front lines during the Nomad crisis, the call against the Legion, the War in Rheinland and now the War against Gallia. In her years of service, she'd help several notable members of the Third Fleet admiralty, including John "Hatchet" Raker, Polly Markson, David Anderson and her newest CO Michelle Collins. The ship's hull is actually older than most sources would let on. While she maintains a 29 year long military service, the hull is in reality the remnants of an even older warship, whose hull was brought to Norfolk for extensive repair and rearmament. While the hull might have been prebuilt, the effort and manpower, coupled with the impossibility of moving the ship to a different shipyard, meant that the Montana was effectively constructed more-or-less from the ground up at Norfolk. Like most warships in the Monument class, the Montana is built for up close combat, primarily staked in the role of an assault dreadnought. Her heavy armament in combination with decades of built up armor have made her a strengthened warhorse for the Liberty Navy, and have allowed her to remain relevant since her construction. In many cases, the Montana is very much a personification of her CO and, by extension, the crew, and in some ways, it is mutual for the ship as well. The current commanding officer, Michelle Collins, is usually the head voice for the ship's operations. While still fairly young in age, her experience out-ranks all aboard, and this fact has kept the crew together for years. While very much a maverick in most cases, Collins is duty-bound, and will stop at nothing to see her job finished. Having been assigned with the destruction of the Gallic Kingdom, she is dedicated to the war effort, and any detour is one met with hostility on her end. When in the field, however, she follows her duty to the letter, and to her the job gets done, regardless of the cost. RE: LBS-427 - L.N.S. Montana - Spectre - 11-26-2016 [Initializing Data Display..] [Displaying Information...] [Log File: 88d-L0F] [Displaying...] Name: Mark Ferguson Date-of-Birth: October 30th, 764 A.S. Birthplace: Boulder City, Planet Denver, Colorado system Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Blue Occupation: Liberty Navy Admiral Family: Chantelle Ferguson - (Wife); Jason Ferguson - (Son); Lesley Ferguson - (Daughter) Biography_______________________________ Newly christened Admiral of the Third Fleet, Admiral Mark Ferguson replaced David Anderson in the position of the Fleet's highest command near the beginning of June 824 A.S.. Name: Michelle Collins Date-of-Birth: February 8th, 795 A.S. Birthplace: Lower Albany, Planet Manhattan, Liberty Space Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Occupation: Liberty Navy Vice Admiral Family: Morgan Collins - (Father); Sandra Collins - (Mother); Patricia Collins - (Sister/Deceased); James Harris - (Fiance/Deceased); Carley Collins - (Daughter) Biography............................ Born a hardened Libertonian, Michelle Collins is the central nerve of leadership aboard the Montana. With her family's dedication and long standing service to the Republic a fact that helps enlighten her career, Collins' position as a Vice Admiral under Admiral Anderson of the Third Fleet has been quite helpful to her throughout her service. The fact that she commands the Montana with the same iron grip her father commanded the L.N.S. Ajax with makes her crew both loyal and confident in her leadership. In early 818 A.S., Collins was put on medical leave for the birth of her daughter Carley. Due to her job taking most of her free time, regulation aboard the Montana was given a bit of leeway so she could have Carley on board during times of peace. Due to the outlaw status of the vessel, however, her daughter has remained planetside on Manhattan in the care of her father and mother, much to the worry of Collins. Overall, she remains confident in her ship's abilities, but personal backlash may bring about her demise. Name: Jasmine Tapp Date-of-Birth: January 3rd, 799 A.S. Birthplace: Saroh, Planet Pittsburgh, Liberty Space Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Occupation: Communications Officer Family: Drake Tapp - (Father/Deceased); Martha Tapp - (Mother/Deceased) Biography............................ Hispanian by blood, Jasmine Tapp is more or less the lifeblood of emotion aboard the Montana. While there isn't much else she does besides man the communications relay, the ship's inner workings are more or less hers to keep in balance, and she does a fine job doing such. A Pittsburgh native, Tapp is Cretan by blood, which has made many of her comrades question even the simplest of her loyalties. Her childhood was fairly uneventful, where she stayed on the right side of deals and was a generally friendly individual. A well rounded people person, this trait helped her to become to communications officer aboard the Montana, serving underneath both Admiral Collins and Admiral Anderson before her. Name: Harry Davidson Date-of-Birth: April 13th, 772 A.S. Birthplace: Prescott, Planet Cambridge, Bretonia Space Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Brown Occupation: Chief Engineer Family: Mia Davidson - (Wife/Deceased); Tarah Preston - (Adoptive Daughter) Biography............................ Easily one of the oldest members of the Montana's crew, Harry Davidson acts as the Chief of Engineering and the all around 'old-wise-man' of the crew. While not particularly old in age, his experience and priors in life easily make him qualify for the position. There aren't many on board the ship who don't know the grumpy old geezer down in engineering, but all who do make sure to give him the credit he deserves. While he may have been born and raised in Bretonia, and indeed it speaks volumes in his accent and attire, Harry is easily a Liberty man at heart. Straight and up front with just about every individual he meets, the fact that he was assigned to the Montana, aside from his fantastic mechanical skills, is both a blessing and a humble curse. Most credit him as the male counterpart to their own CO, while others just see him as the grumpy old man he is. [Playback Complete] [Closing..] |
