Estimados señores,

My name is Arcelia Chavez, Guardiána of the Brotherhood and vocera of the Chavez Clan speaking. Lamentablemente, we have received troubling reports of FL-ER vessels engaging Corsair ships in Bretonian-claimed space while assisting those that Corsairs target in our frequent raids. The following material is only a part of the data that we received from the incident.

Download: << Secure Link >>

Now, I am told and I have seen myself that the FL-ER organización on the other hand is a useful partner in distributing artifacts and xeno relics to places we cannot access as easily as you can. The Chavez Clan and many others I've talked to agree that - en términos generales - your group is useful to the Corsairs.

That's why I am approaching you directamente with this: Make suggestions on how we can make sure that incidents like this one do not have negative effects on the cooperación between FL-ER and the Corsair Empire.

Les saluda atentamente,

Greetings, Miss Chavez.

I looked at data and I hafta say, it looks like a misunderstandin' that was bound to happen sooner or later. I aprecciate yer calm aproach. 'Bout the indcident itself... from what I've heard yer pilot destroyed a cargo of one of our transports later, so I'd say we're even in that regards.

Now, I do agree with ya that we have to make sure somethin' like this ain't goin' to happen in the future. But 'ere's the thing. The reason we're able to brin' supplies to Crete so effectively is the fact we're not under any sort o' suspition from House gov forces. They dinnae 'now 'bout our deal and we'll be happy if it stayed that way.

We have no intentions of shootin' yer lads and lasses, and the bloke who did made a mistake, since the guy he tried to protect wasn't in transport and dinnae hired him to help. However, we do have several long-term escort contracts. Not helpin' our partners could harm our reputation and draw unwanted attention to us, which would, in turm, harm our ability to supply Crete.

So, with this in mind, I'd like to propose a solution. It would be nice if ya could ignore those under our protection completely, but I guess that'd be too good, eh? The way I see it, we need to cooperate a bit more. To make sure we ain't in the same place at the same time. That way we ain't riskin' exposin' our deal and ya can do yer business. Perhaps some warnin' if ye are goin' to hit the lanes, so we can make ourself busy in some other part o' Sirius.

But, if we do run into each other, while we're protectin' blokes ya simply can't let go, we can't really back off. I'd suggest in that case, we talk it out in private channel, decide who's supposed to win, and then do some fireworks. The winner will, o' course, let the loser escape, so no-one gets seriously hurt.

Does that sound acceptable to ya, lass?

With regards
Jimmy O'Brian

P.S.: Who are those with the C:: tag? I assume they are corsair too, given that our pilot only engaged 'em and yer still not happy 'bout it, but we never heared 'bout 'em before...

Estimados señor O Brian,

It is good to see that this situation can be talked about calmly. Sinceramente, I see your problem and I also see the positive sides of this special form of "neutrality" you are operating under. The Brotherhood sees the advantage of having your group work actively in the distribution of Corsair goods, and we value it higher than the avoidance of some risk, which our raiding forces have to be used to.

Therefore the deal is:

As long as you keep the Brotherhood convinced that you are more useful (by your distribution and supply operations) than troublesome (by your escort operations for our prey), we will instruct vessels of the Brotherhood to not push for confrontation unnecessarily. If it happens, it happens and we will not hold grudge against the FL-ER escorts who engage us in cases when our forces want to access resources by force. If conflict can be avoided by discreet messages, good.

Just make sure you stay useful, and we - the Brotherhood - are fine. What we can do is: we could make sure to send a transmission to all Corsairs that instruct them, that your transports - when carrying goods to and from Crete - are exempt from hostility. However, whether independent Corsairs or other clans accept this, we cannot guarantee.

Greetin's, Miss Chavez.

Sorry fer the wait, I had to deal with a... related matter. I admit I'm glad to hear reason. Ya dinnae 'ave to worry, our supply runs ain't goin' to stop, food and munitions will continue to go to Crete, though fer a moment, it looked like things were complicatin'. Ya see, those... Custodii, as they call themself, they were kinda angry 'bout that incident too. Can't really blame 'em, eh, but their... attitude was a bit problematic. We managed to solve the matter, though it took a few trips to Crete that were... a bit less profitable than I'd like.

That's why I'd like to aske ye, what is yer stance towards Custodii? What is their position on Crete? We'd very much like to work with all your people, but this new group might prove problematic fer us in future.

With regards
Jimmy O'Brian

Estimados Señor O Brian,

There are many different clans in the Corsair Empire and it is not always easy to find common ground. The Brotherhood, from all I know, have not had a lot of contact with the Custodii, so it is always hard to say what their goals are, and what means they are putting to use to achieve them.

I have a question, though: Do they not respect you when you carry goods for the Corsairs towards Crete? Because they actually should respect that, as it is one of the rather commonly respected laws.

'Ello there again.

We dinnae had any run-ins with 'em on our way to Crete, but they certainly did threaten to haras us, though they dinnae speciffied where. I'm goin' to link ya a copy of a channel where we... talked a bit to let ya judge fer yerself. There shouldn't be a problem with deliveries to Crete, but judgin' from their... condescendin' attitude, I fear there will be trouble again.

In me opinion, they are overeactin' a lo', given that incident ended up only in our loss.

Chanel copy - only for reading

Estimados Señor O Brian,

Honestamente, I think that it will likely be the best approach to just negotiate a deal (like we have it) with them, too. There is nothing better than having a deal you agreed on first and that you can rely on later on. The Brotherhood would only get involved and I would only feel like addressing the Custodii, when we see that your deliveries to Omircon Gamma are threatened, but I do not see this happening at the moment. ¡mucha suerte!
