Biography: Early life Born on Planet Leeds, at the age of seven was given to foster care due to tragic death of his biological parents. Him, and his two brothers, were adopted by family of Etienne Duvall, wealthy head of trading corporation. Up until the age of fifteen he lead quiet life, when his foster father decided to hire him in his company so he could earn some valuable experience from working in a corporation he was to inherit after his death. In two years time James climbed corporate ladder, earning his way while still educating, to the position of logistics & supplies manager - function he was certainly born for, considering everything he ever did, came to him naturally. At the age of seventeen, in pursuit of education, he was admitted to Leeds University of Science of Technology year earlier than most of his peers. He spent there five years, graduating with flying colours. Having his engineering degree, he realised he didn't want to spent his entire life on Leeds - thanks to that and his foster parents support he was admitted to the University of Cambridge, where he spent additional four years. After graduating, he caught attention of BAF scouts, fishing for highly educated individuals with psychological profiles fitting their purposes. Thus, he was offered scholarship in Royal Navy Academy. It took some convincing from military to actually put him in their own 'school desks'. James foster father was against him going into the military. He was supposed to take over the family company, and not get blown up in space by some errant torpedo. Took month of convincing, before he finally enlisted - another two years of life dedicated to education. However, when he finished his training and graduated from academy, he only spent two weeks in service before he requested for discharge. 796 A.S. was tragic year for him. His foster parents died* when pirates raided convoy of ships they were traveling in. Because of that, his two underage brothers were left without a legal guardian, and because of that there was a direct 'threat' of them being given up again for adoption. James, having some percentage of co-ownership of his foster father's company - despite being the only one to inherit whole ownership of company, supervisory board quickly put their own scheme and somehow managed to undermine his claim, leaving him only with what he worked out on his own. It took him over a month to get from the court legal guardianship over his brothers. New life After sorting things out with his family - times of peace came upon him, finally. He settled on Cambridge, were he hired himself as coordinator, but quickly realised he'd prefer to fly in space than sit behind the desk. For two years he was coursing between Bretonia's capitol and Rheinland, depending on where headquarters decided to send him. Made some good buck with it too, saving it up for his younger brothers future education. More than few times he concluded his interests on Freeport 1 - place that quickly become something more than mere staging station. He started spending more and more of his free time aboard it, even bought a living quarter which became his main apartment. Cambridge and his brothers were close enough, so he could visit them so often. After quiet first year in BMM, harder times came. Cuts in budget, translated to lost jobs for hauler captains like himself. Being already few weeks on unemployment, quickly burning through his earnings, and later savings, he was contacted by Jackson Telford, man with shady past owner of company and part of Zoner security detail. He proposed him a job - free trading, he gets startup cash - and he needs to bring profit back. Terms were more than fair for someone who had family to feed. Thus started his journey with Zoners. He would never expect what was before him, that for over twenty years he would fly across Sirius, visiting worlds of people he only heard before about - Corsairs, Outcasts and even infamous Order. Witnessing battles he'd prefer not to, running from or fighting with mysterious Nomads - aliens whose only purpose was to drive humanity away or worse - extinct. |
