Defending a POB - MutantWizard - 11-30-2016 Appreciate some opinions, options or recommendation for defending a POB from a destruction intended assault. RE: Defending a POB - sasapinjic - 11-30-2016 Bribe @Wesker ! RE: Defending a POB - eigos - 11-30-2016 First off, if you own a POB, then you need to have money. Not even GOD can help your POB if you don't. Second - hire people to supply your base. Use it as a drop-off point for ore and set a profit margin that makes it sustain itself. Third - hire people to defend it. Nobody can defend a base solo. A siege typically involves lots of bad guys. Prepare to splash money on hiring freelancers and whoever else might be friendly enough and hold your ground until that siege is over. Fourth - place the base next to a solar or some other obstacle so it can only be sieged from one side. Suns also make for good defense. Radiation clouds... large asteroids... you name it. Fifth - weapons platforms placement. Big difference. Make them effective, make them cover all corners. Choose the correct type. Sixt - offer payment to the scum who want to siege your base. It's way cheaper than hiring a large army to defend. Seventh - why do you need a POB... try and answer that question the best you can, before making one. RE: Defending a POB - MutantWizard - 11-30-2016 Obvious n reasonably easy. Im interested in more confrontational methods. RE: Defending a POB - Hina Nakamura - 11-30-2016 Here is my advice if you are interested, since i constructed over 11 POBs on this server Defense arrays are useless, so don't bother with them, They have a bug that when someone keep shooting them for 3 to 6 times, then the arrays will not fire back anymore There is no reason for building them since the devs and the admins did nothing to this problem till this moment, although they see base after another getting destroyed for the same reason and more. The attackers of POBs on discovery are sorted into one disturbed group of people who do minimum RP and keep seeking POBs destruction all over. Also those group can sabotage bases like they did recently, and also they can fake screenshots like what they did on the one before the previous POB - simply they are very sick mannered and i suggest not to even go into a confrontation with those. The thing is that there is no fair when you have a POB and non-working defense arrays, also in the same time, you have people on bases destruction spree with almost no RP other than "Pay or we will destroy it". My advice for you for defending a POB is to build it in an area where those trouble group can't reach it Put in consideration that they have several characters in many factions and they all join each others factions, so it's same players, joining different siege groups once they reach it, then it will probably be with almost ZERO RP so i suggest for you to abandon it and build somewhere else away from the disturbed group. Good luck Edit : sorry wrong account, this is @Xenon RE: Defending a POB - Laura C. - 11-30-2016 (11-30-2016, 01:28 PM)Nebula Complex Wrote: The attackers of POBs on discovery are sorted into one disturbed group of people who do minimum RP and keep seeking POBs destruction all over.It would be good to not generalize too much. While I know who are you referring to, there are also players who siege bases simply because they have roleplay reason to do so. For example lawfuls simply have to remove bases which are constructed illegaly and at places where no POBs can be constructed and so on. No generalization was meant at all I am not referring to the players who do proper RP and proper siege. I think you already know that because my words are very clear and simple to understand. I actually respect those who do proper RP and proper siege but those were not the group i was talking about. I am sure that many old players here knows who i am talking about including you @Laura C. since you are an old player here too (11-30-2016, 02:22 PM)Jayce Wrote: Typical response, as expected. I learned an old say long time ago, so let me share with you @Jayce " Don't argue idiots, because they will take you down to their level of stupidity " I am not willing to go down and become stupid , so good luck for you RE: Defending a POB - Wesker - 11-30-2016 Step 1: send 50 million credits to [RHA]RHT-Weimar Step 2: repeat step 1 every month RE: Defending a POB - Jayce - 11-30-2016 Perhaps, if you didn't call people rude names, they wouldn't blow up your hard work. See point one. Quote:Just be friends with everyone. |
