S.C.R.A. Carrier attacks OSC Liners; Artifact Smugglers Blamed
Artifact Smugglers are to blame for damage to two Orbital Spa and Cruise Luxury Liners. Earlier today a Tempest Class Coalition Carrier with escort, stopped both the Madeira and Adonara as they left orbit of Planet Grand Canaria in Omega 49. The Coalition's reasoning? Reportedly traces of Artifacts were found. Orbital claims that the artifact smugglers were detained as per procedure and held for eventual transfer to a Bretonia Police facility and all the artifacts found were handed over to the S.C.R.A. But apparently this wasn’t enough for the bloodthirsty Captain of the Carrier, the PCW Lenin, demanded that Coalition personnel be allowed to board the Liners for “inspection”. When his demand was refused the Captain of the PCW Lenin opened fire on over 6,000 civilians who were aboard the two vessels. During a press conference James Blackwood, Director of Travel and Tourism, was quoted as saying “Orbital Spa and Cruise publicly denounces the S.C.R.A. for their unprovoked attack upon innocent civilians. For many years the Coalition claimed that it was the last bastion of freedom and safety for the average citizen, and here we have proof of them degrading themselves to simple piracy and attacking the common traveler. Luckily due to rigorous training of our staff both Liners escaped from the attack with only superficial structural damage and no injuries to our passengers.”
While the attacked occurred within the system-wide “No-Fire Zone” of the Confederation of Freeports, they could not be reached for comment.
